Bev Clement needs your help...

Dear Friends

One of our warriors needs your help and I'm hoping you will (as usual) rise up to the occasion and help her out.

Bev Clement who is a very active warrior as a rule is finding herself in a bit of a spot. Through no fault of her own, she and her husband find themselves homeless at the moment and having to live in a series of relatively expensive hotels (most start around US$60 a night).

Some background on Bev

Rob & Bev sold everything in the UK to go and work as volunteers in China. They mainly supported themselves, and used IM to give them an income. In China their monthly expenses were between $200 and $300 but they had to leave when visas were no longer being given for China.

Since then they have been living with a friend in Hong Kong who is now getting married. As the apartment they were all sharing is quite small Bev and Rob decided their friends needed more space to themselves and moved out to live in a hotel until they could get an apartment sorted out for themselves.

The problem they find now though is the exchange rate in Hong Kong is crippling them, and apartments now cost 50% more than they did 6 months ago. At the moment they just don't have the capital to put down the huge deposit needed to get their own place. Hence having to live in hotels etc from day to day.

Bev's been a good friend to many on the Warrior forum, Miss Marple (as I like to call her) has her eagle eye fixated on anyone she thinks is scamming other Warriors and its thanks to her that many people haven't been duped into parting with their hard earned cash. She's also a loyal friend whom I know has helped out many here on the forum (Including me).

I've been talking to Bev on Skype and she says a sum of about $5k would probably help both her and Rob get back on their feet and I'm hoping Warriors will rise to the occasion and help them out. In fact I'm hoping we can make it even more to give them a cushion.

She doesn't want charity or people to give her anything for nothing (neither do I). After all we all have to make our dollars work for us. This is Bev's paypal email address, admin@robbev.com

For anyone who sends Bev a donation of $5 or more, I will send them a copy of my eBook Membership Secrets.

If you send a donation of over $25, I will include a copy of my shopping cart EasySellerpro (See my sig for details of both). Email me at k.standerline at ntlworld.com (change at for @ obviously) with your receipt details and I will forward you the download pages. I'm going out shortly though so please don't be impatient if it is later that I send it.

Bev and Rob find themselves in a position where many of us could say "There for the grace of God etc" and even a few dollars from their warrior friends is a help and will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for reading
Kim

Edit

The firesale is now up and running (such as it is) and already making sales. www.allbusinessblog.info/bev/

It's getting late here in the UK, but I will be adding to it tomorrow, please let me have all contributions

Thanks

  • I just chatted with Bev on Skype. Until now, she never said word one about moving out of her shared apartment (claimed she had a "blonde moment").

Yeah, I sent her some PayPal love, but don't need anything in return. Bev's helped me in the past in ways I cannot repay.

The rest of you need to know that Bev and Rob are just stuck in a bad place right now. They are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. The vicissitudes of live have stopped them just inches from the goal.

    Your help will be invaluable.

It's been difficult for her to accept the help she has so often generously given others Vince. I had to twist her arm to let me do this for her. (She's a very private person).

I agree with you, once back up on their feet, they will be fine. They just need a helping hand from their friends to get there.

The economic climate sucks at the moment doesn't it

I'm sorry to hear about Bev and Rob's situation and I'd like to help.

If anyone wants to buy any of the pre-made Squidoo lenses from here:
    Squidoo Lenses For Sale

you can have them at half the marked price and the money will go to Rob and Bev.

    Here's how to do it:

    1) Confirm with me the lens is still available.

    2) You send the payment to Bev's paypal account (half the marked price)

    3) Once I've confirmed the payment has been received by Bev I'll transfer the lens.

I'm in the middle of a seminar I'm running all week-end so bear with me if I'm a little slow in confirming the availability of any lenses you want.

    Nigel

MODS: Hopefully you won't object to me linking direct to my Squidoo page but if you do please just make it a non-working link rather than deleting. Thanks.

Quite a few of you folks probably don't really know Bev and Rob. Sure, you've seen a few of Bev's posts and fairly quickly figured she knows what she's writing about.

But, that's not unusual on WF. A lot of Warriors know of what they speak and a few thousand posts may not really tell you much about the person behind the keyboard

Let me tell you a bit about the kind of folks Bev and Rob happen to be.

A year or so back Bev and Rob had taken a contract to write a third party "user guide" for a product that was available only in the US. The seller was blocking sign-up access to non US IP's. They needed screen shots of the registration process. Hard to do from Hong Kong.

Bev asked me if I could help them out and I quickly agreed and spent a little bit of time grabbing screen shots and sending them to them. No big deal. Bev and Rob said thanks. Good enough.

A week or two later some money-I hadn't asked for payment, I was helping a friend-magically appeared in my PayPal account. I Skyped Bev and asked why she'd sent money. She said their client was very pleased with the work they'd done, had paid them and she felt it was only proper that she pay me for doing the screen shots.

She wouldn't hear of me returning it. I said, "Thank you". (I would have spent three hours arguing about it otherwise.)

Well, I didn't prevail in that situation, but I've got her now!

      Donation sent!

I have known Bev for a long time and she is a very good friend! You know what Bev's problem is? She has too much pride and it is very hard for her to ask for help. I'm glad Kim asked for her.

We are going through tough economic times and a lot of people don't have much money. You can't help everyone but I always make it a point to try to help those who have made a point of helping others in the past. Bev is one of those people who has given what she head to help those who needed it.

If you are able, I would ask you to help Bev now. If you don't have much money, maybe you could offer a product or service for those who CAN send her money. Every little bit helps. Maybe you could run a WSO and donate part of the proceeds. Someone mentioned a firesale.

Anyway, Bev has given a lot to the people in the WF and I think it is time we gave something back to her!

I'm rushing out again for a meal with hubby and some friends in a few minutes, when I get back, I'll catch up with all those who have pm'd and emailed me with downloads etc.

In the meantime I'm going to set up Bev's firesale here www.allbusinessblog.info/bev/

Nothing there yet, (I'll work on it when I get home). I'm using the ESP script for the sale as I thought it would be easier for everyone to buy just what they want for smaller amounts rather than a bigger sum for stuff they may not need.

If you would like to contribute to the firesale please will you email me at k.standerline at ntlworld.com (Its a pain trying to reply to pm's when you have to wait ages inbetween sending them back)

If you want to just send me a download link for anything already uploaded, that would probably be easier than sending me the full product. I also need to know the price you are willing to sell it for and also your original sales page (and price)

          Hi Elmer,

You're in dangerous territory there mate!

Traditionally, 'North' starts at the Watford Gap in Northamptonshire (as opposed to Watford, Hertfordshire).

Scunthorpe is in North Lincolnshire which is further north.

I don't know what Kim's roots are, but geographically she is a Northerner.

Let me say this, and take it how you want it.

As soon as I saw this thread, what was going on and what was needed, I
knew it was a done deal.

            Why?

            3 reasons.

            1. Bev Clement has done much for this forum, right up there with several
others whose names won't be mentioned now because this is her time.

            2. Kim Standerline, the person who started this thread, is one of the more
respected members here for very good reasons.

            3. I knew that this community, this wonderful community, that I am
so proud to be a member of, would come through. I had no doubt in my
            mind.

That is what being a Warrior is all about. That's why when anybody says
anything bad about this place, I just have to laugh.

I have never seen this kind of support at any other forum on the Internet.

You should all be very proud.

      Folks,

Read the original post. Bev and Rob are using their online work to support themselves while they do other work they strongly believe in. A lot of people do things along these lines, and it's one of the things I like most about the net.

Business is a way to let you focus on the other things in life that matter. It lets you choose what else you do.

When someone in that situation spends time doing the things Bev has done for the people here, that comes out of time that could be spent making money. It has real value, to each and every one of us.

There's no charge for access to this place, but there is a cost involved in keeping it useful. Bev pays a chunk of that cost with her time.

Make your own decision as to whether that's something that's worth helping her out in return.

        That's really worth thinking about.

It's exactly the thing that I've been adopting over the last year.

I am now much more focused on living a valuable life than making money and I've often thought about stopping all work to just go and build schools and housing in deprived countries - I could easily end up in this same situation as Bev, not because I can't earn money but because life is about much more than that and sometimes it's just part of life's flow when you end up down an alley you never expected and have to re-evaluate your plans.

I know it will be hard for some people to understand but Bev really is a person worth helping and the situation she's in has only come about because of her focus on helping others and making the world a better place rather than just making money and buying herself what she wants.

        Andy

I used to live in China for several years and have spent time in Hong Kong too. Hong Kong is MUCH more expensive to live in.

If you're struggling and need to get some breathing space for cash if you can organize a Chinese Visa it could be really good to go across the border and live in China for a period of time.

It would make it far more economical. I personally enjoy China better than Hong Kong also.

However, if you can't get a Visa then seriously consider going to Taiwan. I found it to be brilliant and UK Passport Holders don't need a Visa for at least 30 days. It is much cheaper than Hong Kong and is a great mix of China/Japan/America. I'd highly recommend it.

Anyway there are two solutions which could be part of your strategy to work through this difficult time for you.

Let me answer some of the questions.

Jeremy hotels here start around $60 a night but on a weekend it is normally around $100. Most will charge an additional amount of $20 a night for internet.

Kenneth, one of the other problems we have with China is all our sites are blocked now. We visited there last year, and suddenly no sites, no email so that isn't a long term solution.

Hadn't thought about Taiwan, but we are looking at various options.

For those who have made comments, let me give some answers.

We went to China as volunteers, we then went online to earn our own income.

In China the income we needed was low, but we went to Hong Kong, because we didn't need a visa for there, it was cheap to go to from China as we didn't have any spare income to fly back to the UK. But, even if we went back to the UK we wouldn't have anywhere to live so would be in a similar position.

Our costs here are massive compared to China, and when you have to pay out an additional $100 a day then you don't get the opportunity to put money in the bank to pay for a deposit.

The average deposit is around US$2,000 plus the 1st month rent, plus the deposit for utilities, plus the deposit for the internet.

Since Feb we have been living in hotels and that has been taking ever single dollar we have earned. Because we have been spending all we have, we have ended up in a catch-22 situation, where we can't leave HK because of no extra money to do that, but we can't afford to stay either.

I have never suggested to anyone that they give up their job to get into internet marketing.

Our biggest problem is we are not super salespeople. When people ask for help we will automatically help them, giving them hours of our time, and never thinking of asking for money in return.

Recently I wrote a short report, and it contains a secret. So far only 3 people said they knew it. Now a lot of people would sell it even for $5, but to me it was so short I couldn't justify selling something so simple.

Again, thank you all for everything you are/have done we really appreciate it all.

      Cheers

Super idea Paul, I'll do the same

I'm also going to send out to my list later when I have some more stuff to put on there. Be a super idea if others could do the same. (Gimme chance to add stuff tho lol)

BTW If you have sales pages, I am linking to them, and if you don't have a sign up feature on there to increase your list (why haven't you).

I don't know this lady (Bev), but I have read some of her stuff just now and she deserves our help.

There are many causes these days, some more worthy than others. There are also many scammers around looking for a quick payout, so sometimes we get suspicious.

However, it is a privilege to be a member of this forum and to see so many people rallying round to help a valuable member of the forum.

Money is important, especially in this modern world, but it is not the most important thing by far.

A friend of mine unexpectedly died last week and he was worth a few million dollars but it counts for little now. Thankfully he lived a very full life and actually spent at least 50 years of his live helping others and he will be greatly missed.

So anyone who helps others such as Bev, is a very valuable person, and sometimes they need help themselves at certain times.

A valuable skill to have and develop is the skill of recognising worthwhile causes and when help is needed and actually doing something to help.

So with that said, I have just made a little donation by buying something on Kim's firesale link mentioned in this thread.

Well done to Kim too for helping out her friend.

      Great news Bev!

You've earned the loyal support of many Warriors.

We're all hoping that your current problem will soon be a distant memory.

In this economic climate, people all over the world are suddenly finding themselves in uncharted waters. It is an unpleasant sign of the times.

Just going to grab some lunch, then I'll be adding more to the firesale. Thanks to those who have bought so far and those who have contributed.

I'm going to add to the sale as you send it in, so if you want to contribute, just send me your links etc.

If you have a list, it would be super if you can direct them to the sale.

Bev has done a lot of work she believes in, in HK. And they don't get paid for this type of work. Not monetarily anyway, I think they get paid emotionally by helping people. So I think this is a way of helping her out for all the work she and Rob have done in China and HK.

Help out others, and others will help you out.

Do you think anyone would go for this,

Send out a mail to a list to create a 'real ecover' set and minisite for $297, would be willing to donate $100 to Bev's cause for every $297. Bev has helped me before and I'd like to give back.

I hope this doesnt seem self promotional, as it isnt, just a way I can help to contribute.

Bev & Rob's situation has haunted me since yesterday when Kim posted. It's heartwarming to seem the community come to the aid of a well loved and admired member. I wish I had even a dollar to donate, but I don't. So, instead, I will make a suggestion I hope you all take up.
It seems to me that Bev & Rob will continue to need more funds in HK than they did in China. What we're (you) doing now only is a temporary fix. What needs to be done, if Warriors can, is unite your special skills and create a stream of automated income for Bev & Rob. Someone picks a niche, buys a domain. Someone hosts it. Someone does the copy/finds affiliate products. Another does the SEO and/or social bookmarks. You get the idea. Or maybe take one of Bev's existing blogs or sites and increase traffic to it, make it more automated to consistently generate income.
This is just a thought, since I can't donate. I know, being on dial up with an old Win98 system, this type of Warrior assistance would be welcome and a blessing in my own IM efforts to help my friends, so I'm sure Bev & Rob would welcome it, too.

Kim a Southerner, Elmer she is north of the Watford Gap :p

I'm trying to answer all the emails at the moment, and you will hear from me soon, please be patient.

Update, well I'm not totally sure of the figure as it keeps changing, but it is over $3,500 at the moment, and we are so thankful to all.

Chris you are right the hotels do cost more, it is because we pay in HK$'s and my brain totally lost the conversion rates. I tend to think from HK$ to GBP not US$.

Our banks are either in HK or in the UK, our paypal account is in the UK, and that means all the money is converted to GBP. The exchange rate was GBP1 = HK$15 but now it is HK$10.

Also until now we have also had to pay for internet each day, and only one of us has been able to get online.

The hotel we are in now has wireless which is included in the room rate and both of us can get online.

I need to explain something as well. Our online work has supported us in China and has also supported us here in Hong Kong. The problem arose when we had to leave the place we were staying and had to find the money for a deposit for another place.

The income we have coming in through our products, ghostwriting, affiliate marketing is normally enough to live on. Obviously with the exchange rate at the moment it means our money doesn't go so far.

However, the extras like either a deposit for an apartment here or a flight to another place in Asia or back to England (Peter we were in West Sussex when we left) was the problem trying to earn not only the extra because of the exchange rate but also the extra to pay for these was the problem.

Since we have been in a hotel, it meant our expenses were higher, and so getting out of the catch 22 situation was not happening.

But, the warriors have been brilliant and the money sent will enable us to look at the options and see what we do next.

We have work coming through and that will continue to enable us to work online.

We have a new website which is selling PLR and we hope that will also bring in more.

We are working on a course which we will sell.

We are looking at the options, and seeing where we should be living.

Not sure if any of that makes sense.

Rushing out to count beds and hoists at work, when I get home later I'll finish putting up the rest of the items kindly donated to the firesale.

      Regards
      Kim

    Hi Kim,

I think it's great to help each other when we can and when others need it. So, I am donating my time and skills to write sales copy for warriors who need it. Warriors who get this service can then send Kim/Bev any amount you have.

Naturally only a limited few will get this but I'm hoping it's enough to help Bev out even more, please PM me for details, I have not spoken to Kim about this, and will email her now, just thought I'd add my 2 cents to the help line.

Bev, I wish you the best of luck and keep being strong, you're an inspiration to many.

Thank you all, I keep thinking I am getting to the end of answering emails and more keep coming in.

I want to explain something which I have been asked about.

People when they donated had a gmail account to send money to, that is my gmail account. Kim when she was setting up the firesale asked if we had another email linked to our paypal account. We do and that is our affiliate website.

Both emails are mine and they are both linked to the same paypal account.

Rather than sound like a cracked record I will say

Bev and Rob visited me 18 months ago when I was in a horrible mental state because of a unexpected family problem. At that time, I had to seek both psychiatric and psychological help. They made that visit on purpose to counsel me and I was highly appreciative of that.

The day to day living costs in Hong Kong can be pretty low provided that housing is taken off the equation. I find the horror stories about Hong Kong in travel and expatriate magazines quite untrue and amazing.

What I am worried about that besides around 3 months' deposit plus agent fees (if any), the contracts here are "inflexible" for the first year. That means if the tennant decides to leave within the first year, he/she is liable to pay for the whole year's rent.

One possibility is that across the border in Shenzhen, it may be possible to connect directly to a an ISP in Hong Kong via mobile broadband. Hong Kong island is very expensive, but there are cheaper accommodation in Kowloon and the New Territories. Another possibility is Macau but it is not to everybody's taste as it is quite a seedy place. I am checking with my friends at the moment to see whether there are any other reasonable options.

    Good gracious

I've just got back in from a day doing boring stuff like counting beds etc to find the firesale has raised aprox $685 so far (give or take a dollar or so).

    Thats absolutely fantastic folks.

Just going to start dinner, then I'll spend a few hours later adding everything else folks have been kind enough to donate

Palo thanks for the song, it was even better to hear the music with it, you may be new to the warrior forum, but you have like many others shown what a real warrior is like

I don't want to start thanking people, because I will miss some out, and don't want to offend anyone.

But I know Gordon's situation, so a huge thank you to you and your wife. I will be sending you an email shortly.

I have a heap of emails that I need to send out to everybody, and I thank you all for your patience

An update on the total given by the wonderful warriors.

    Drum roll please

    $4,989.96

I am still lost for words, which as I need to do some writing isn't a good thing

Thanks Kim for organising this, if you saw the skype messages you would know that Rob & I really didn't want to let people know.

As far as the long term, we have our online business, we are developing some new areas which will give us more of a passive income. We have an income from our online work which will be enough to live on.

What this extra money will do is this.

    1) Allow us to go back to China and get our belongings that we have left with friends.

    2) Look at options for the future, which will include a trip back to the UK to visit my mother. The last time we were back there was in Sept 06.

    3) Have some breathing space.

    4) Not have to be so concerned that because of us having everything go to our UK account we don't have to earn 50% more to get the same income to spend.

    5) Most importantly (should have been No 1) shown us what wonderful friends we have here on the warrior forum.

Kim asked me what would make a difference and she asked if $5K would do that. I said yes, but hadn't even thought about a figure. To be truthful, anything would have made a difference, because it would start to give us the options which we said.

Some of you have said it's only $5, but I wanted to come and kick you in the backside, because it isn't ONLY anything. It was something you gave which made the difference. It wasn't the amount, but the heart behind the giving. $5, $10, $50 or $1,000 it is the people who gave and the amount was secondary. I hope that comes across the way I mean it to come across.

I also know another well loved warrior is having a problem. He had an unexpected bill come in. I also know he doesn't want people to know what that is, so I am saying that Mr X also has a financial problem.

I have emailed him, so get and read your email today

Anything else received I will be sending him something from it, I hope you don't mind me doing this, if you do, let me know and I won't send him it from your gift.

Again thank you, diolch for your prayers, support, friendship, gifts and everything else that I have forgotten to include

I thank you for your comments, because I didn't realise I hadn't explained what the money meant clearly.

I hope I didn't play on people's sympathy, because I didn't want this to be made public to start with. Kim did a lot of persuading for us to say yes to this being said.

We are not planning on going to the UK for a holiday as you have suggested. Actually we have no relative in the UK that could set up a computer for my mother. We contact her via email, sending them via a friend. We also telephone and send mail to her.

We have said all the time, that we are looking at an alternative to HK because of the expense of it. But, we were stuck in that we didn't have enough to stay and rent a place (deposit not the monthly rental income) and we didn't have enough to leave (airfare to another country).

Breathing space doesn't mean we are going to use the money given by our friends to sit around and do nothing. It means exactly that, enough to give us space to look at the situation, and go to a cheaper place to live and work if that is the best option.

We have a number of things where we have been asked to do some work, and one would mean going to the UK. That would be for work, and sorting out things for us moving forward. It might mean moving to the UK, the breathing space will let us look at that option. But, if we do go to the UK then we would be able to visit my mother. It was never suggested or thought by us that we would go to the UK for a holiday using the money given.

We have said all the time, that we were looking at options. Someone yesterday asked if we had looked at Thailand as an option, it is on the list because everything is on the list at the moment. Someone else suggested Taiwan which we hadn't considered but will look at it.

But to suggest that we have asked for money, and want to go and have a holiday is so far from the truth that I'm amazed at the suggestion. Maybe, it is my fault for not explaining it clearly.

We have been so overwhelmed with what has happened, that we haven't been able to say exactly what it means and how it will help.

We continue to work using the internet for our income, but this has given us what was becoming impossible to do for ourselves.

          Hey Bev,

          2 Things.

1 - I won't be back to the UK until the end of April but if you like - I would be happy to provide your mother with a laptop and get her up and running with skype and a webcam.

2 - If you do come over to the UK - I'm more than happy to put you up for as long as you need while you get things worked out. I have a 4 bedroom house and live in it alone and travel a lot so I could easily cope with you and your husband staying for a while.

      Hi Bev & Rob,

I know that you didn't want this publicised, but I am very glad that Kim has started this thread for you.

It has given many Warriors on this Forum a chance to "pay you back" for all your help & kind deeds, or "Pay it Forward" as you did to me many months ago as I was starting out.

Of course it seems typical of your very selfless attitude, that despite being in a "spot" yourselves, you are both thinking of how you can help others in need.

Truly remarkable people, touching many, many others lives worldwide ..... (& Scotland )

Glad that you are getting some breathing space to (probably) seek out the next "challenge" LOL.

Andy thanks, I know you are serious.

We have been working on a computer for my mother. My mother isn't technically minded, and she has started to take some classes. She has been asked to leave 2 classes, and is now in a new class.

She is learning how to use XP and Office 2003, and it was decided months ago that she would have my laptop which has both.

At the moment the friend who we send her email via, has lent her a laptop which she has used maybe 2 or 3 times, but she has no internet connection. That is because she doesn't want it until she decides if she is going to use the laptop we will send her.

The friend has offered to take her to their home so she can get online, but again she doesn't want to do that.

Once a decision is made my laptop will be shipped to her, and no the money to pay for that will not come from the warriors

So thanks for the offer of help with my mother, but we are taking it one step at a time.

For those who might be wondering, we bought my parents years ago a telephone and fax machine. They live in South Wales and we were in West Sussex at the time. We spent hours explaining to my mother how it worked, but she refused to use it because, and I quote "How will I know that the message you have received is the one I sent. How do I know that someone isn't changing it while it is going from A to B? What happens to the message when it is sent, I want to know exactly what happens otherwise I'm not going to use it. She never did.

      Lol...

Bev, I can relate to that.

Before my mother passed I had her surfing the net, sending emails...

One day she asked to use my laptop and I said sure. My desktop had no
room for another icon so she thought she would help me by deleting all
      the stuff.

She did a great job of it and when I saw what she had done I laughed
till I seen that she also emptied the Trash Bin!

      I lost 6 months of work...lol You gotta Love-Um!

      Have a Great Day!

PS I dont care what you do with the money and I am sure that most people who have given would feel the same!
I gave money to the Fire victims in Victoria and I hope they spend some of what was raised on booze and holidays
Most people who are willing to give a little just hope that in doing so they can make the recipitants life a little easier and its up to them how they acheive this.
In my opinion If you want to put strings on it then dont give it at all
Good Luck Rob and Bev I hope you have enough to at least get drunk and have a nice meal.

    Hello Warriors,
Just signed on. What a community you have here. As an incentive, if you donated to this cause, I will put your name into a drawing for a WPress theme (dating) site with 30+ articles and preselected Videos that will launch this coming week. Just forward your donation info in a pm. One site will be given away ($47 value) and a one year access to a members area ($97 value) with it. You can check out a screen capture of the site near the lower middle of our sales page located at : http://www.yourkeytoimsuccess.com/ . Hey Bev & Rob,

Please don't feel the need to justify your motives in (maybe) visiting your Mum or in what you're using the money from here for.

You have made yourselves very clear in your intentions, & as has Kim when she posted this thread, that you both would have preferred that your situation was not made public.

I for one am glad that a (maybe) short term uncomfortable feeling for you both, has enabled me & others to recognise the valuable part that you have played in this community & I feel that this is important to highlight to others who may be "new" to this Forum.

I am in the fortunate position to know a part of what you are planning to do next, & it is (again) for the benefit of others, rather than for yourselves.

You & Rob are constantly striving to help other people & I for one am glad to highlight this.

I think the fact that MANY respected Warriors have come on here & posted offers of support, prove how highly you & Rob are thought of in this community & as Kim clearly stated this is a very temporary situation you find yourselves in due to the exchange rate variancies.

Again just to remind people of your intention to pass on monies from the Firesale to help Mr X ~ a fellow Warrior who wishes to remain anonymous ~ is a sign of your generosity & willingness to help others.

      Cheers...

      PeterC.

p.s. You'll notice I've posted this after you've gone to bed .... dodged a reprimand there ...TeeHee :p

I am just this moment getting my paypal set up after having been out of the game for almost a year. I will have to see what I can put in to it tonight but Bev and Rob have both helped me in the past. No promises today but I am definitely on board. Worst case scenario, they always have a spot here in the Philippines. It is nothing fancy (yet) but there is an open bed and an internet connection.

Well, the Philippines has good points and bad as well as China but you would have a spot ... even temporarily. It is certainly not a four bedroom home (Though I do hope to be working on that soon ) but it would be a roof. I am setting up paypal tonight and believe it or not, I have a rather simple solution set up for my personal needs. I will be working on AC for a while, 25 to 35 articles a week will cover my basic needs here. After that, I intend on getting my personal site set up a little differently and getting a few more web sites. I have over 200 personal products (Relatively low paying but all original and mine) to begin selling so I do not think the future looks nearly as dim as the past. My experiences with the last "Warrior" who helped me unfortunately put me in a bad spot and between that and losing my last computer to the fluctuating power here, knocked me out of the game completely.

While I may not have much to offer, it is certainly here if you want or need a place. However, my prayers are that this is the dark before the dawn for both of us. Paypal opens up new markets to me and I have a nice little niche (One other warrior here is using as well, but not in the same manner hehehehe) and I think I can open it to mainland China which will give me an incredible number of potential new affiliates who would be only too happy for the little bit of money they could earn.

Needless to say, the future does look promising if I can stay online this time. If you do find yourself in a position, please let me know and maybe we can consolidate our situations and our efforts and both come out the better for it. It ain't much but I can help you out with what I have.

As far as help from you? Having you for a friend has already helped me immensely. I have the plan in place and I should be able to pay my debts off this year and begin moving back up the ladder. All I really need at the moment is an affiliate program for my niche site (based on Joomla) but the only thing I can think of is that I will have to wait until I get the money to buy one. For now, I am hoping to make enough to open an ebay store and see if I can begin working out on two fronts.

PS Apologies for the long-winded response, but thanks, it is good to be back ... and so much going on and for the first time in about a year, I am really looking forward to the future. Sharing it with someone of your (and your husband's) stature would not only be an honor, but a privilege. I ain't got much but it is there if you want or need it.

    Hi Bev,

Man girl, I sure do hate hearing about what's going on there with you and Rob. Please know that both of you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I know I'm a little late in responding to this thread, so my apologies. I'll explain about that later. I did come and look a couple of days ago, and got distracted.

As most people stated already, you are one of the most giving human beings online and off, and never seem to let personaly situations and circumstance get in the way of helping other people in need, or simply being good and thoughtful to others. I know I appreciate you too kid.

Anyway, if you ever come to the US, you can stay here at the house for as long as you need to. It's a 3 story home with 4 bedrooms, so there is planty of room here. I'll send you something here in a bit too. Hope it helps.

In the mean time, you know who to trust in, so be sure to leave your worries and cares at the table, and thank Him for this outpouring. He's already at work thru people like Kim, and the many others here, so take His love and mercy as it comes. Remember - God's grace is sufficient for you, and his love is never failing or ending kid.

Btw, if you ever ever need to talk, even if it's to blow off steam, feel free - anytime.

Wishing you and yours the very best ...

    Mary

    P.S. Hey Charles,

I think that is from the old days of television with shows like I love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke and the like? If there were two people, they had two beds ... even married couples.

It was just a thought ... I never said it was a good one. (The really scary thing is that it was funny when I thought about it)

    @ Peter & Paul, (where's Mary?) .........

Thanks for the warning Paul, you are right people do have to be wary, the Forum is changing, even in the few short months I have been here.

Well done Peter for accepting the comments in the spirit they were intended. Many posters don't (seem) to realise that there are many more people reading & following these threads, than are actually posting, and therefore people who may be thinking of doing business with you, now or in the future, could have second thoughts if your comment, or reaction to a comment, was ill thoughout.

  • Folks,

This thread is an example of the Warrior forum at its best. Good people got help they did not ask for, in ways (and amounts) that were above and beyond their expectations.

Even more importantly, the relationships forged here are real, not just acquaintanceships. While Bev was handling all the thank you's and her own work, she still had time to do me a personal favor.

I was also able to give her a bit of information to help her in her work (beyond the modest donation I made to her and Rob). In turn, she offered me the fruits of her labor, based on the info I forwarded.

Here's the bottom line: it ain't all about money, despite the stated purpose of this particular forum. It's about relationships, which can lead to very big money.

That's because you can't do it all alone. Take heed!

If you are free, we could arrange a trip into the NT next week so you can have a look around at the environment and collect a few calling cards from property agents. There are actually a lot of good choices there. There are 700sq foot appartments in village houses that can be rented quite cheaply.
