How can I get this site to convert??

Hi,

I am trying a new approach to my normal IM and have setup a site selling ebook cover designs. The traffic is generated through Adwords and in 4 days I have had 73 clicks but zero sales.

Any care to share any thoughts on why this might be or what I could do to my landing page to start converting my visitors? The average time spent on site so far is 14 seconds which sucks!

I would really appreciate any constructive criticism!

Wegotitcovered dot net is the address

Thanks

    The url might help

EDIT: I don't know if you added it or if I just missed it 1st time. Anyway here are my thoughts.

Thing is, it is all there, above the fold:

    - High quality cover
    - $59

So you don't really need more than 14 secs to evaluate your offer and decide.

I have bought a lot of ecovers in my time and I can tell you that I would probably click away too. Why? Because I paid a lot less.

So what can you do about it?

    - Price your product competitively (research the competition)
    - Convince people your product is worth more

As I see it, those are your options.

    Good luck with it,

    Will

You need to create a CTA (call to action), at the moment someone lands on the site....then what? You need to drive them a certain way, what do you want them to do?

Secondly, videos tend to help the bounce rate - therefore, people will stay on your site longer.

It's ALL about value. The more value you give people the more money you will make.

Hi Jayden, thanks for your valuable input - I think a video would be a great idea. I'll get one made! And as for call to action I have the orange bar with the arrows stating the call to action, do you think this needs to stand out more?

Hi Will, URL is on second from last line of original post, I didn't link to it because I didn't know if it was allowed in this forum or not.

    Thanks,

I was actually looking at .com - Now I realise it's .net.

Too much stuff on this page, you need to make it simpler. I don't know where to look first, too many options.

Your going straight in to the hard sale, you need to warm your leads up. If I came to this site I would also immediately hit the back button. Nobody likes to be sold to.

What is your USP (unique selling point?)

What are the pains and problems your customers experience?

Why would they need a ebook cover?

What are the biggest pain points if they had to create one them self?

Who is your customer avatar? Who are you talking to?

Demographics research based on another ebook website:

    Age: 45-54
    Gender: Mainly female

Now you know who you are talking to.

Will, thanks for your reply. It was my intention to just to cut the BS and give the user all the info they need above the fold so maybe it's not the issue? I had thought about the price but the research I did before on ebook design services (1st page of Google) shows that prices are more than $59, especially seeing as I am offering a 72 hour service. I know there are cheaper services available but these are not generally as accessible to most, my services are outsourced to a designer so I wouldn't really be able to cut the cost by much if I wanted to make a worth while margin.

I'll look more into it thought, thanks again, I appreciate your time.

No worries Josh - if you can't shift on price (which I understand), your site needs to convince people why your product is superior. So put a bit of effort into that. You actually said that it's a 72 hour service and I see that's there on the home page too, but I think most people would miss it.

Perhaps brainstorm a bunch of things that makes you unique (your USP) and use bullets to catch the eye.

Thanks Jayden, I will work through the list of points you mentioned as I have not tackled any of them on the landing page. Good to know the demographic! I never thought it would be that age and one specific gender, guess it makes sense though!

I second the input from Will. You must show why your product is superior and show the value of your product.

Most folks won't mind paying more for a superior product that just exudes value. It is your job to show that value.

Your going to be compared to 'micro-priced' competitors, show your customers why they should pay your asking price, it's about the value.

A new Ferrari for $50,000 is five times as much as a new Kia, but I don't think that anyone would argue that the Ferrari is a superior value.

And if anyone can find a new Ferrari for $50,000, please let me know.

    Take Care,
    Allan

You need to change the theme to something more eye catching and lower the price. You need to lower it enough to get sales but make profits at the same time.

Let me tell you the truth.
Your site/landing page is too simple compare to this...
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...start-now.html
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...urnaround.html
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...ous-offer.html
...and many more here on WF4Hire section (looks for: designer).

Also your price is a way higher... while you don't give a reason in your site for such $59 cost. What do you offer best than those guys on WF with amazing price.

People also can find best deal on fiverr.com...

You should go around the online-world.

Don't forget to make a showcase of your ecover samples/porfolios as many as possible.

    That's the truth.
    Good luck.

    • I'll be publishing my first ebook soon, so I'm a potential customer.

You say your covers convert, but you don't prove it.

The price you're asking is substantial compared to the average sales price of a Kindle book. I have no idea how many copies my ebook will sell, maybe none. Then I'd have a net loss.

For $25 I could commission 5 ebook covers from different Fiverr sellers and choose the one I like best. Why are your ebook covers better than the best I can get from a Fiverr seller?

I would suggest sending all of that traffic to a squeeze page first, this way you can get them subscribed to your list and market to them again and again
