....and now thr login page has gone?

Added the Better WP Security plugin to my site, I clicked the one-click security update (I did notice it said it would hide the login page), but how do I login now that its gone?

In my opinion Better WP Security is the best security plugin there is and I use it on all my sites.

There are a ton of settings and it gives you warnings on each. Which setting did you change that said that? I've never lost a login page before, so I'm guessing you changed one of the things it's warning you not to.

If you tell me which setting, I'll see what I can find for you.

Try logging into your cPanel File Manager and deleting the plug-in from the site folder that contains it.

tried that, doesnt work...i checked elsewhere and ive been told to do that and....''edit your .htaccess (infact, better wp edits it ) by removing ALL lines from # BEGIN BETTER WP to # END BETTER WP .''....unfortunatly im a bit of a noob and im unsure of how to do that.

        Try just yousite.com/login

Did you change the slug after you clicked to hide the admin? That is one of your options. If so, change login to whatever word you chose.

Log in to your cPanel File Manager, down the left hand side, click on the public_html folder, this will list your sites, click on the directory of the site you are having problems with, this will bring up a list of files in the RH column. Look for the htaccess file, select it by clicking it and than click on the edit icon in the navbar to edit the file.

If you only have one domain then the htaccess file will be in the public)html root folder.

If you cannot see the htaccess file you may have 'hide important files' selected, this can be unselected from the pop-up you get when selecting File Manager in cPanel.

hope this is of some help.

Personally I use WP Firewall 2, it's alarming how many attacks it intercepts at times o_O

Make sure the plugin doesn't block googlebot; I seem to have read that some of these plugins accidentally do that...

It doesn't! But you do need to be cautious with the settings, as the OP found out.

I started using the plugin at the beginning of the year. Up until then I was using WP Secure, but this one locks down your site even better. With this and WP FIrewall you're not 100% safe but you're much closer to it. Plus it integrates things like backup and login lockout so you don't need extra plugins for those as well.
