Which of these 4 methods is the best for traffic purposes?

Hi everybody, i started doing link building and I am wondering from those 4 methods - blog commenting, forum commenting, video commenting and bookmarks - which is the most productive and good for bringing traffic. My question is for the traffic, not the pure SEO aspect that helps rank the keywords. Thank you

Well in SEO forums cam give you good traffic.
When you say that, do you mean making campaigns in FB and so on, or making posts on the wall? I tried Facebook ppc 3 times. First campaign was not targeted at all, as i put a huge age range and a mix of countries from all continents. I got 250 likes/24 h on average; for the next 2 very targeted campaigns i got 100-150 likes a day. No sale. So they really come to the fan page, some hit "like", some are going to the shop but what i see is that they are not in a buying mood. Of course I am at the very beginning but I find FB to be more a tip for customers to trust that i am not Fantomas on the web and then to distract people a bit and that's all. Sometimes a sale may come but "sometimes"

Forum posting and next is blog commenting. Social bookmark has nothing to do with traffic unless it is stumbleupon and digg.

Just to precise - how often may someone do a bookmark in one same social bookmarking site without getting spammy?

I am posting in social bookmarks for link building only and the maximum post I made each day is 2... So I have no idea about spamming in SBs as I think I'm not overdoing it..

Those are 4 very different strategies.

All of them can bring in traffic and over time you probably want to use all 4 of them. As you're here right now, I'd probably start taking advantage of forum posting. It's a pretty good traffic source, but it does require participation.

You won't get many clicks if all you do is post one-liners, if on the other hand you make sure your forum posts are worth reading and add to the discussion you will get clicks. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.

leelherry mentions the effect forum posting has on pagerank. That's true, but imo you get far greater benefit from posts that add value. It's the same with blog commenting. Why do it just for SEO purposes when you can get direct traffic from the comment by adding something valuable to the conversation?

Sometimes doing what is was originally the intention of a specific action actually does have benefits

I agree with what some others have said.

Forum posting will be the best, as long as you are adding value to the forum and don't look like you are spamming it. Next would be blog posting, and again, leaving valuable comments will help you much more (also less likely will be deleted by blog owner). Video commenting could also bring some traffic, if they also have value.

Most importantly, make sure the forum, blog, or video are in the niche that your website is about.

They are all effective. You actually need to have traffic from various sources, anyway. Of course, you also have to consider how much traffic the sites you're posting on get as well.

Forum marketing - If you target highly-trafficked forums that are full of potential customers (= targeted traffic), then forum marketing can be worth the effort of going out there and making valuable posts on the forum.

Bookmarks - unless you have a large following of people who trust you, this is not the best way to get traffic.

Video commenting - if you mean commenting under Youtube videos with links to your website, this is again not a good way to get traffic. Your comments will be sooner or later replaced with newer comments and I don't think it's even possible to include a clickable link within your comment.

Blog commenting - This can be a great way of driving traffic BUT you need to target blogs with a lot of targeted visitors and make only valuable comments that relate to the article you are commenting beneath.

Also, while blog commenting, it's advisable to first create a relationship with the blog owner by commenting without any links first for a few weeks and only then adding your links to your comments. You will have much higher chances of getting your comments approved.

    Best of luck!

    My experience suggested "FORUM POSTING".

But you need to post on appropriate category and blog.
If you post on sports blog for IM marketing this will not beneficial.
You should remember the characteristics :
    - quality post
    -experience forum poster
-a poster must at home in English
    -choose appropriate blog
    -advertise slogan must be attractive.

Forum posting would be my first choice... however, be responsible with leaving quality posts and not some spam-like posting content. But the forum itself must be highly visible and a popular destination for interested readers to their target audience.

Blog commenting is the good way to get traffic. For instant traffic is start a Pay Per Click campaign on any of the search engines. Google will drive the most traffic by far and the quality of traffic is good if ads are optimized right.

A mix of commenting, video commenting & web 2.0 (additional) can bring lots of traffic to your business website... Its bitter truth that as far as google update is concerned, blog commenting is getting hard to follow....

But if someone works with patience & care, they can attain good rankings in a couple of months

As others have said, targeting is the key here. I think blog commenting and forum posting are the best methods, but you have to target your audience still, connecting with the right forums and blogs where people go who are interested in what you have to offer.

First of all, I'm new to internet marketing and have been hearing about forum posting to be one of the most effective ways to gain traffic, the thing is that how long before you are able to see visible results and on average how many forums people have to patronize?

This is one of those questions that will get tons of different answers.

There is actually one method that has always worked since the beginning of the internet.

Search engines always want to put out high quality relevant results. Therefore you need to feed them with it.

This has worked for long time regardless of all those updates

It will be very difficult to say which one is better from the others only because there are many facts that interfere according to their content and their utilities toward users
etc...what i want to say is whatever you may choose i think that you'd better focus on content and utility of your post towards users
