Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year and I hope a prosperous one to you all.

I am new to the whole internet marking scene even though this is my 10th year working in the IT industry. My 2010 will consit of trying to clear lots of debts including my mrtgage hopefully so I can spend more time with my wife and 15 month of daughter. I need to make £50K to clear all my debts, I have given myself 2 years. Do you think it is possible for me to do this and in what timescale? I am looking at the Google Sniper product to get me going.

Since then we have had another daughter now 9 months. I have decided to get into this forum again and try to make some money now with even more motivation after the new addition. My question is has IM changed a lot in the last two years are you guys doing things differently now and any suggestions as to the best place to start would be much appreciated.

    Hi Sam,

    Congrats on your growing family.

    What are your primary interests? What have you already tried?

    I would say that IM has grown, including the opportunities, and new methods of generating income are being developed all of the time.

    Sorry for such a broad answer, but it's also a very broad question you ask.

    There are tons of possibilities - the real question should be, where are you looking to start? And that can easily be answered through your own reflection of discovering where your interests (and previous experiences) lie.

      Wow thanks guys for the quick reply. The debts are still there albeit smaller and of course the mortgage. We just havent had the time with work and the 2 girls. To be honest I have no particular areas of interest today. two years ago I like the idea of CPA, clickback affiliation etc. But to today I just want something that can be done with a little startup cash say £500 or less and is sustainable.

      I get lots of emails from IM gurus like Rich Schefren but non of them atcually say what to do its all fluff.

        I would like to post my humble guide to Newbies who want to know the basic of make and sell a website from ZERO.

        If you are new to internet marketing, it is too bad that you cannot make a single cent successfully in a short time frame.There will be no one that kind enough to guide you. This is cruel but it is true.I spent a lot initiately and hoped that i would get some help from those so-called gurus. But they only showed me the things which can be easily available on internet.You need to try different methods until you find something which works for you.

        To me (since i already have experience), what i need for an start up is as follow:
        - $12/month for a unlimited domain registration webhosting.
        - $8/year for domain (i would buy a few of them, let's say 5 domains).
        - Get a freelance to write eBook or articles for your topic(s) for about $200.
        - Use free tools like Wordpress template for your website.
        - Do marketing with free methods (facebook, youtube, article submission, forum marketin etc) to get traffic and to get ranked in major search engines.
        - Spend some money for ads and backlink (about $200).
        - Link all the monetizing tools for free (Google adsense, affliates for electronic products, affiliates for physical products).

        My cost will be:
        - Webhosting: $12/month x 12 = $144
        - Domain: $8/domain x 5 domains = $40
        - Freelance articles or ebook: $200
        - Wordpress: FREE
        - Marketing with free methods: FREE
        - Ads & backlink: $200
        - Monetizing tools: FREE

        TOTAL COST: $144 + $40 + $200 + $200 = $584

        I will be spending about $584 for my business which starts from zero. It will soon up and run and generate decent income if you use the correct methods.Hint: Go to my signature.Hope this information will give you some general ideas about how much you need to spend. But it is not gurantee that newbies can do what i said.

    Wow I haven't really though about it, but yes, some areas have changed allot.

    The general principle behind most methods are the same, but there's just slight updates.
    With SEO it was mainly the panda and penguin updates from earlier this year, those pretty much destroyed autoblogs and articles directories.

    Welcome back samir, What about your debts, they were cleared or still pending?
    IM change every moment, but you've to follow it with much hard working. But honestly IM getting harder day by day. People are focusing on list building rather than SEO now a days.
