How to make money giving away freebies?

I'm working on a few differnet products and I've been told that I should give away a free version for people to try before they buy it to get their email addresses for further contact/sales.

Or is the true goal with freebies to build a list of people to reach out to for futher products?

    Hi,

Your freebie must be a good quality product so that people will be convienced enough to join you.

I believe the true goal with freebies should be to build credibility, trust, long-term relationships, and a positive experience for your potential market.

Sure, this entails building a list so that you can reach out to your market with other opportunities, but I personally don't see the value unless you take the time to build your credibility, so that people will naturally trust to try your "future" products.

Yes giving away a free trial in exchange for contact details is a great way to help promote your product. Once you have the contact details you could build a follow up series of emails that help people use it and convert them from trial users to paid users.

However, if what your offering in the free trial is of poor quality, dont expect to get a single paid user out of it.
