Clickbank - Info Requested

As someone intending to break into affiliate marketing of info products I'm told I need a Clickbank account. Unfortunately I've read that they are very unfriendly to newbies like me and that they will not post cheques for less than $50, will not do bank transfers, charge $1 a week for overseas accounts, only pay in dollars (which highstreet banks won't take) so I would need a dollar account which would carry a monthly fee and charge an extra $10 to process a cheque.
Come on guys - true or false please?

Well, not necessarily. You'll need that only if you're intending to break into the affiliate marketing of ClickBank info products. But it's true that there are over 15,000 products there, and an awful lot of them are what most people would call "info products".

    This is incorrect.

You can set your preferred payment threshold to $10 if you really want to.

But you won't need many ClickBank commissions to get to $50 anyway.

    This is also incorrect.

They will do bank tranfers (either as direct deposit or wire transfer, depending on your country), but after sending two checks first.

    This is also incorrect.

They charge $1 per two weeks as a "dormant account charge" - regardless of your location - only if you haven't made a sale or a purchase at all for 90 days and have money left in your account.

My High Street bank (in Europe) takes them with no problem. Banks convert funds into your own currency. It's what they do. ClickBank is an American company, based in America - of course they pay in US$.

Possibly you would, perhaps depending on your country? (Other people I know don't seem to need one.)

Your bank will charge something ($10 may be about right) for clearing those first two ClickBank checks, yes. But it's not too difficult to arrange to send them back to ClickBank and have them added on your first direct debit payment instead (after your receiving them has been used to verify your address), if that concerns you.

The bottom line here is that you've been misinformed about many things.

What you really need to do is check the facts for yourself on ClickBank's website. It makes no sense at all to do business with people without first reading their terms of service anyway, and once you have to do that, you might as well learn what you want to know from that authoritative, factual source, and avoid being misinformed all over again, as is always likely to happen in a forum. These two pages will help you ...
