Affiliates VS List pimps

Do people really make money as affiliates or is the best way to make money to pimp out your list?

You're not seeing the big picture! Build the list (with either small product sales where you capture their e-mail, or they pay to join your list), give them freebies/good content, do swaps of small products every now and again (swaps you can be sure about the niche AND quality, and not to frequently either) to build it. You can also buy solo ads to small offers with opt-ins after purchase. When it becomes big enough (10k), CREATE a product to market to them.

    DON'T Sell solo ads
DON'T Promote affiliate offers (unless you're lacking a product of your own)
    DON'T Screw with small-ticket items

You've got a list of 10k people that you already know spend money on the internet.

Promote a BIG TICKET offer of your own to them once a quarter.

Say you follow these guidelines and you have 10k quality members. You promote your product for say, $997 (offer it for $1,997 to the general public), even if you only convert at a HALF A PERCENT that's 50 grand a quarter. Can you live on that?

selling affiliate products is fine and you can do well with it but you will be better off
creating your own products as soon as you can do it

selling your own products gives you lots more options and you have the ability to
get affiliates to send you buyers too

selling ads to your email list is just going burn the relationship which you have with your list

leave that to others meanwhile you can leverage there lists to build your own business :-)

Yeah I think starting as an affiliate is better as opposed to a product creator because you will learn the affiliate business model and how it all works. You will get the necessary experience to run your own affiliate program afterwards, after you've created a product.

It's pretty much the same process as in CPA marketing - you first should be a CPA marketer (a publisher/affiliate) and after you truly learn all aspects of CPA marketing (learn all possible traffic sources, the language, what offers convert with what traffic sources, etc.) then you can eventually start your own CPA network.

It all depends on what niche you are in and how often your list wants to hear from you.

Of course it's more ideal to have your own product but in the mean time while you get there you do need to be an affiliates, well it's an option.

I think as long as you don't lie to your list and you give them excellent content then your chances of success are far better.

One thing that I don't like is when people begin lying to their list - "you'll never see this offer again" "or this is the last time you'll hear about this" Specially coming from so called gurus.

Anyways just food for thought. Every situation is different.
