I met the 5 cc limit and have never tried to game the system and buy something myself for a discount. What am I doing wrong? Why won't they pay me?

I did some quick research for you. It took me 30 seconds to find this:
    Clickbank's Payout Policy

Clickbank has some requirements that must be met before you can receive your first check. Before I get into them there are very good reasons for these requirements and when you understand them, you will see that its for your own good.
    • 5 Sales - Before you can receive a Clickbank check they require that you have at least 5 sales
    • One Mastercard and One Visa Sale - At least two of those sales have to be from two different credit cards one being a Mastercard and one being a Visa. Paypal doesn't count here.
    • Must reach the minimum payout amount - You can set the minimum from $25.00 to $250.00 but the default is $100.00. If you haven't changed the default them you will get your first check once the amount reaches $100.00 the above requirements are met.

I've done that research as well, but I thought that because I met the 5 sales on different cc from different customers that I should at some point get paid, I will double check perhaps someone paid with Paypal.

Look at this part: One Mastercard and One Visa Sale - At least two of those sales have to be from two different credit cards one being a Mastercard and one being a Visa. Paypal doesn't count here.

Also what is your payment threshold set to?

Go into your account settings and look at it. You will have a choice of check or direct deposit for methods of payment.

Did you actually ask Clickbank why? It is always best to ask the company rather than others who may not know exactly why it is. However, I do know that you have to set a limit on the amount you get before they send the check. Or that's how it used to be years ago....

Yes I asked but the answer was vague and didn't really answer the question. It was that the sale didn't fall within a time period but that was a few months ago.

You probably did not have 2 different transactions with different credit cards.

Maybe I am missing something, but the payment method is simply a blank or dash. I assued that since it came from 5 unique customers or so I assume that they would have to be 5 different credit cards. The only thing I can imagine is that someone made a purchase with paypal but I can't find that info.

I am not saying its an issue with 5 different sales on 5 different products I am going back to this part: One Mastercard and One Visa Sale - At least two of those sales have to be from two different credit cards one being a Mastercard and one being a Visa. Paypal doesn't count here.

If you had all visa payments then you have not met their requirements. Have you looked to see that you had a mastercard and a visa pay? Check out your transactions.

Thanks for your help finding this, but doesn't that seem a bit overboard on the restrictions. I mean I've received check from other affiliate many times since I started my clickbank account. Why do you think they are so strict with their payment regulations?

To protect affiliates. Seriously. (I know it doesn't feel that way when you're trying to comply with the CDR and get a payment released).

But here's another way to look at it: the harder it is to do that, in the first instance (and of course you only ever have to do it once), the harder it is for your potential customers to register as distributors themselves and buy through their own links instead of through yours, and get paid for doing so (i.e. "earn their discount").

ClickBank's entire systems rests on having the Customer Distributor Requirement, or something very like it
. Without it, affiliates would lose a proportion of the commissions we earn. So don't complain about it too much.

If you need another credit-card sale, just buy a $3 product through your own account, or ask a friend or family member to do so. They all count!

        Unfortunately not.

Note that the rule is 5 different credit-cards, and not 5 different customers: if one customer buys a couple of products (maybe $3 products?) with two different credit-cards, that counts twice.

Generally, when that happens, it's a good idea to reply politely saying "Hi, thanks for your reply. Sorry to trouble you again but I still don't understand. What I really want to know is "<repeat your question here in words a 5-year-old child can understand>". This does work, with ClickBank, and they will reply again and explain it better rather than pasting in some useless "stock paragraphs" into a "reply".

I don't know why they are so strict but they are. They are the biggest affiliate/publisher network out so they can be as strict as they want. You never answered the question of if you have had people pay through a visa and a mastercard. Did you see a visa and a mastercard payment in your transactions?

Unfortunately this is a big hassle for a vendor because many affiliates won't even make more than 5 different sales. I'm sure this drives away a lot of people that would want to try out being an affiliate first.

The restrictions seem to be too rigid and I just wished they would be more open to encouraging new affiliates to not only promote but also to get paid - because if people don't get paid right away they will stop promoting.

On one of my cb accounts a couple years ago I had the same problem THREE times (same account).

      Here's what worked for me:

I sent an email to CB pointing out I had met the restrictions and asking for proof that payment was being withheld for a reason....and they sent the payment. It happened twice more on the same account - so much for CB's accounting practices. Each time I had to complain and then the check was sent.

If you don't contest this - they will bleed the account dry as the $1 charge goes to $5 and then up until there's nothing left.

That is a separate issue relating to dormant accounts, nothing to with the Customer Distribution Requirement

what held me up was the credit cards had to be from different areas, at least thats what they told me. it took months. So I just considered it money in the bank and kept going till I got my 5 cards

Pennyroll did you check? Have you gotten at least 5 sales that were used by 5 different credit cards yet? Or did someone pay using Paypal once out of those 5 sales?
