Is Your Website Blacklisted? Find Out Now!

I use Hostgator as my main web host but I also use Cloudflare and this was where the problem was. Cloudflare had been blacklisted! I couldn't believe that they would put me in this position!
A short post by Tim Bonner on how to check if your site has been blacklisted.

Thanks for the link to the post Joe.

I was close to using CloudFlare to improve site speed
and security but this shows a potential downside of
    having them on your DNS.

I think you are making some confusion - a website can't be blacklisted, a DOMAIN can.

And Blacklisted means that you are flagged as a spammer, and the emails you send from addresses on that domain will be flagged as spam by most antispam systems.

This has nothing to do with the website - in case someone thought there is some connection between having a domain blacklisted and not ranking in Google.

I came across this blacklistalert.org sometime last year. Good thing you opened a thread about this. I didn't bookmark this at first. This is a useful stuff.

I checked WarriorForum.com and it showed twice that it's listed (2 sites).

Never sign up for a free version of CloudFare, for suspecting visitors they put an intermediate screen in between having ads in them. Just a heads up.

I checked this out with Cloudflare and their comments were as follows:

"The only place we place ads is on the Challenge page when a visitor is detected as a threat and must input a CAPTCHA."

Challenge pages are only shown to visitors coming from IPs that have shown suspicious behavior online recently (spammers, exploit attackers, etc.) & are not shown to all visitors (most visitors will never see a challenge page). Free customers can actually do basic customizations to the challenge page & paying customers can do more customization.

Note: We will likely move away from ads on the challenge page in the future to something different.

Do you actually have the details from the report and the domain in question?

Just actually read through the blog post. That was an issue with Spamhaus that we resolved. It would have affected mail delivery for some customers (not all) & would not have impacted web traffic at all.

In fairness to everyone mentioned, this thread was meant to point a out good post by Tim Bonner and a tool he uses.

Credit goes to Tim and Cloudflare for jumping in and keeping the facts straight.
