Classic sales letter home page design question

Good morning from South Africa. We're nearing the end of winter here and I look forward to Spring in September.

Anyway I've been re-listening some classic Gary Halbert interviews. He and Michel Fortin were always strong advocates for the 1-page sales letter website. When I was first learning direct marketing copywriting I experimented with designing the websites using MS Frontpage.

Now most of my websites run on Wordpress. However, I'm not sure a 1-page sales letter website needs Wordpress, even though I'm found themes designed for sales letter pages.

Anyway how do you design a 1-page sales letter website? What software do you use if any because I do know HTML?

Thanks for the speedy replies.

Yours faithfully,
Ramon

Go check out Optimize press. Its $97 bucks and it will help you design a sales letter that looks great with all the bells and whistles.

I use a simple html sales page theme I got for free from Googling for free sales page theme. It's your basic white with shadowed edges sales page. You don't need to buy an expensive Wordpress theme that mimics a sales page. Just grab a free html sales page and launch it.

That's great advice that you should follow.

A lot of people are tempted to pay for something when in reality there's stuff out there that is just as good (if not better) for free.

If you choose to create your sales letter via word press then optimize press is very popular. If you decide to do a static-plain html page, then NVU is a real awesome tool.

Just make sure to create a table and then have your sales letter in it, so your copy stays in one spot and doesn't jump around when customers view it in different browsers.

Here's the great all purpose sales letter I've been using that was free.

Just place the 3 images in a folder in your root directory called /images and the index.html in your root folder and fill in content.
