When The Forum Removes Your Signature

What do do you do? How long do you have to wait to get it back?

Change whatever rule you broke - too many lines, links to affiliate sites, etc. then notify the helpdesk.

Well, you likely abused your signature privileges in some way. They don't disappear accidentally.

I think it varies according to the perceived severity of the offense (i.e. how wrong what you did with it was, whether it was a "repeated offense" and such considerations).

It hasn't happened to me, but what I'd do myself is wait for a little while, contribute some valuable/helpful posts to the forum, and then send a message to Paul Myers exlaining that you made a mistake, that you were unaware of the rule and didn't realise until too late that you shouldn't have done it, that you realise now and won't do it again, and that you'd be very grateful if they could please restore your sig-file privileges (making it clear that you appreciate that it is a privilege and not a "right") because you want to link to a site you own, not a replicated one or an affiliate-link (or whatever the problem was).

(There are many other moderators, too, but Paul is perhaps a good one to ask in this context, I think, because I know he's posted on subjects related to this, in the past).

I don't think the Help Desk is the appropriate resource, here: that's more for "technical stuff", isn't it?

If they help you, the sig-file rules are in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ing-forum.html

Someone will doubtless correct me if my advice above isn't appropriate.

Just contact helpdesk. If the offense was accidental they'll help. If intentional, like spamming or worse, youre gone.

  • Don't flood the help desk. It was removed for a reason. Best thing to do is just review the rules, try to find out what you did wrong, post a sig that meets the rule requirements, and NEVER ask why your signature was deleted.

Try to redeem yourself and contact help desk for their feedback.
