Number of products you sell to your list?

Hey warriors,

I'm in the process of building my auto responder emails right now and I'm just wondering how many different products you guys promote on average.

I'm thinking of sending my list an email with my affiliate link for a certain product every 2-3 emails. But should I keep promoting the same product every time I send out one of these emails?

Or should I be promoting a different product every time?

I'm thinking some hybrid of those two ideas might work best but I'm interested in what you guys have to say about this!

    A bit of both, perhaps?

Ideally, one should have a way of identifying and moving to a different list the people who've bought a specific product (not always trivially easy, for affiliates).

In one of my niches, I now have seven different products to promote.

It certainly seems to make sense, when selecting niches, to choose niches in which there's a variety of products (at different price points).

Thanks Alexa! I'd thank your post but I don't have posts yet

I'd imagine that promoting the same product to my list for a while and moving out who buys into a different list will allow me to sell different but similar products to those people.

While at the same time keep promoting the first product to the original list for a while (a couple emails) to try and get some of those people to buy. Then switching to a different product after a decent amount of emails have gone out.

I send an email to my lists 1-2 times a month with a special offer for an affiliate ebook and also include a special low price on one of my own ebooks and I find that if you try and promote more than 1-2 ebooks for sale in one email your sales results decrease.

    I wish you much success,

    Martin

Whatever you choose to promote, make sure it is actually useful and RELEVANT to your audience. Offer value -- tips or insight for 3 emails and then promote on the 4th.

I know marketers who try to be pithy in trying to get me to open their e-mails. The reason I'm skeptical? They're always trying to sell me something.

I follow two ladies whom I relate to their message and platforms extremely well and guess what ... I open their emails every single time when I see it's from them, all without ever looking at the subject line.

Again, be relevant and useful to your audience and you'll have their loyalty and trust. See them as your personal ATM and nothing more and you're doomed, regardless of how great the product is you're promoting.

I promote only one product to my free subscriber list. Doesn't matter if they were on my list for 242 days... they get pitched the same 1 products.

Lots of them buy, so it's a steady system.

But when they BUY... i introduce to them a "product catalog" that they can choose from if they feel like the backend product that i'm promoting doesn't fit their situation right now. So i leave it up to them to choose the product that fits them best.

The only time I promote anything that will bring profit to my list is if it's a KILLER product and it's going to net me ~$500+ per sale and I do this once per quarter. Anytime else I buy things for them with giveaway rights and shower them in bonuses and content.

best thing to do is have an ultimate goal in mind when you get people on your list

so if you have a freebie list then your goal could be to get them on your lowest product price buyers list of $5

then on your $5 buyers list your goal could be to get them to buy your next product of say $17 and then you put them on your $17 buyers list

in between selling your own products you can promote different affiliate offers but your priority should really be to build your own list of buyers on different lists but of course in between selling your own stuff and selling affiliate offers your giving away lots of quality free information

I have 2 products I'll eventually offer to my list, but the main goal of my list is to keep giving out information until I write my first book.
