Five Simple But Powerful Reasons You Should Sell Information Products

Anyone can write a book or create an information product and make a lot of money.
But while most people dream of it at some point in their lives, only a few follow
to live the dream.

Below are 5 powerful reasons why you should therefore write and sell information products.

1. Information Product is in High Demand

2. All You Need is to Identify a problem and provide the Solution

3. It has a very terrific business-building opportunities

4. It offers outstanding profit margin and can be received immediately by your buyer

5. It is easy to produce

Let us look at them one after the other in detail.

1. Information Product is in high demand

There are lots of market that people want to know specific things about. For example, people want to know how to generate traffic to their site, build their own list using their new or old site. Your task as an information marketer is to give them exactly how to do this specific task and smile to the bank.

You can easily start information product marketing by identifying a market with sales potential and get to know all about it, what the people in this market want that they're not currently getting, how they want it, and how you can provide the high demanding information.

2. All you need to do is to solve a problem.
Once you have identified this niche and the peculiar problem in the market place, you are halfway to success. Now create the solution in the form of an information product; video, ebook report or folio. People have problems and it drags them back. And solution is what they will be very ready to pay for to get rid of their hurdles. Information product gives you this leverage.

3. Information products offer terrific business-building opportunities.
Yes. You read it right! Information Product will give you a viable business opportunity.
You can sell your introductory product at a low price and this will get prospects or initial customers into your sales funnel where you can build relationships and sell additional products at much higher price points.

Once your customers are settled with you with trust and ability to deliver, then they are much open to buying and will often spend many times what they would on an initial purchase.

4. Information products offer outstanding margins.
It costs almost nothing to write a report or book. And with print on demand services there's no need for inventory. You can also offer products that can be downloaded and this virtually eliminate the cost and time delay of manual shipments.

Unlike printed manual or book, your information product can be downloaded easily once payment is received. Every information product is a great asset. All you have to do is create it a single time and still can sell that same product or file thousands of times month after month, year after year.

Compare info product to every other type of "real world" product and you can't beat the advantages information marketing affords. The value of these assets lies in the content and not the packaging.

5. Information products are easy to produce.
Ordinarily, all of us have one thing or the other to write about ranging from our passion, hobby, mistakes and expertise and there are ready made markets for it.

With the right mindset, focus and action, you can package a solid information product in an area you are knowledgeable within days. For example, if you are knowledgeable in the business of domain buying and selling or flipping website, you can put down your practical experience into chapters, write about them in details, turn it into pdf and start selling online.

Packaging and selling information product is therefore what anyone can start and make money with today. Start today and reap the Internet Information Product opportunities.

You definitely have a good point. The hardest aspect of doing this is the research and then presenting it in a form your customers enjoy. If you learn this, one should do well.

Yes all of these are great ideas.

The problem is that the barrier to entry is so low that lots of people do it and so you get a deluge of info products.

The trick is not creating one, but rather helping people to find yours when they are immersed in a sea of available products, with product competing for they're attention.

To do this you need a relationship with potential customers. That's the hard part and that's why 2% of marketers make 98% of the money.

Nick, I agree with you 100% without traffic the best made info product won't make you much money. But I'm curious about your stats. I read a lot of people quoting stats. Where did you get that stat? I'm just curious if you read from a white paper or if it's hearsay. Reason I ask is I want to use similar stat for one of my sales page but I can't find the actual study anywhere online.

Alan, to be honest I don't have a good source to quote.

I have heard people throw around numbers 98/2 or 95/5 but I don't remember exactly where I got it from.

It's really just an extension of the Pareto principle:

They'll soon find out that it takes more than a mediocre product to make lasting money .

Those of us with a list (relationship with potential customers) will be just fine.

The hardest part isn't even coming up with a product (you could outsource that for a couple of hundred bucks), but it's the marketing aspect that most often results in failure. A lot of people get fed up with the process and end up calling it quits before they've even really started. If you have a good enough product, and are dedicated enough, selling information products can be a great way to generate income. You just have to be willing to provide the best service possible to your customers, and understand that you're running a business...not just out to make a quick buck or two.

Seems like there's some negativity when it comes to info products. The most important thing is to really know what you're talking about. Find a niche, or a sub-niche, get good at it, then sell your expertise.

You're only limited by your creativity. Reports, ebooks, podcasts, dvds, teleseminars, actually classes if you live in an area where you can do that. Of course, I've only scratched the surface.

You can appeal to a vary narrow market is almost any niche through forum marketing. Or you can build a more general list using something like article marketing and squeeze pages and sell to them.

Info marketing has been very, very good to me. Of course, I know what I'm doing and enjoy teaching others how to do it.

Info products are still a great way to make an income. It's where you try to sell them that will kill or make you. If you don't have a list of potential buyers or you are not known in your niche, you will just be another person in a sea of people all trying to sell online. You need to separate yourself from all of this. Look at traditional methods of marketing your products to your audience where you can capture their attention. In my opinion,Offline marketing is the best way to do this now directing people to your website. It will cost you but it will get you noticed.

Instead of thinking about how much money you can make, think about how you can provide the best quality information and the provide the best learning experience you can for your customers.

        Over deliver.

If you take care of the quality first, the financial side will take care of itself.

I agree with this as long as you build some sort of long term relationship with them i.e. email list.

            I agree Nick.

A long term business relies on repeat customers, that's why it is important to have that quality right at the beginning.

A long term business does indeed rely on repeat and loyal customers. Build your list, build rapport, create great products and offer it to them. You'll find that most buy within minutes after you send an Email, some of them just read your Emails and let your offers pass by. Whatever way you look at it, it's all in the numbers and quality of your products.
