It Seems That No One Can Answer This

I have published many articles for one of my sites in article directories, and I found out later that people spun the articles with some software and turned the content into something that doesn't make any sense. {For example: "AT PRESENT TIME PEOPLE ARE TRYING HARD TO MAKE ENDS MEET." was spun into" AT GIFT CLOCK FOLKS ARE WORKING HARD TO CONNECT ENDS" and so on}. The funny thing is that the links still point to my site. What can I do to fix that?

    the only way I can think of would be to contact each blog owner and ask them to remove the posts.

    or else hope that you can disavow them in some future Google tool..

    Nothing. If they make a completely different article from your original by spinning, it is just that - a different article. This sort of thing has been going on for years now.

    As far as your link(s) being contained in the articles, why complain? They bring you traffic right? Unless of course you're worried about your reputation being damaged. In that case, I would contact the owners of the article directories, submitters and other sites/blogs, asking them to remove the links. Other than that there isn't much else you can do.

      I disagree with you here, if you read a description that doesn't make any sense of a site would you visit that site? I WON'T.

    It's called plagiarism and unfortunately, it is rampant in the internet marketing world. I don't know of anything that you can do to stop it.

    You could always right an article on your own website that explains how the problem came about, just as you did on the forum, but with a little more detail. You could say that this kind of thing is out of your control and tell them that your original article was of better quality.

    Ugh... I hate when people do this. I mean, if you're going to rip off my content and run it through a spinner, at least have the courtesy of removing my name and my links so that I don't look like a moron.

    You do have some recourse, though. The people who have done this have broken the rules of the article directory they snatched the article from (most of which say you cannot change the content in any way if you're going to re-publish it). They've also infringed on your copyrights. Contact the owner of the site and demand that they either post the article as it should be or remove it. Give them a deadline (like 48 hours, or whatever works for you). If they don't, you can always file a DMCA against them. If you're genuinely concerned that this could damage your reputation, it's worth a few minutes to send out some emails.

      Wow, thanks you were the first one to understand what I am talking about, unlike most of the people saying I should be happy about the links to my site. They don't realize that links like that would do so much damage to your site.

    Wow, this is not good.

      I agree.

      I would find out (from a site like who-hosts.com) who hosts the site, and fill in the blanks in a standard DMCA notice, myself, and send it to the host by email, with copies to "admin" and "info" and "support" at the domain of the offending site. I don't say it will always work, but it takes only a minute to do, and it's worth a try.

      One doesn't want links like that. At least, I certainly don't, for any of my sites. And I will take a moment or two to try to get them removed.

      On a brighter note, sites like that tend not to live for ever. As soon as either their domain registration or hosting expires, they'll typically be gone: they usually belong to fairly clueless people who are not earning anything from them anyway. "Surprise surprise". :p

    Contact the owner of the site and ask them to remove it permanently. You are trying to build your reputation and credibility. What this person did is not acceptable. I'm pretty sure that the owner will understand and will do something about this problem.
