How to use Ezine for Exposure

by Topwriters Banned

Hello! I have recently opened an ezine account for the benefit of my writing service. I submitted a few articles yesterday, but only one was approved, and I am not sure what happened with the other 9 articles that I submitted too. I didn't even receive email notifications for the other 9 articles whether its approved or not.

I know that it takes (1) week for ezine to review the articles, so does it mean that the review for all of my articles is not done yet?

My other concern is about the number of article submissions. As a newbie in ezine, I think that I am only allowed with (10) submissions. How do I increase it?

Any help will be much appreciated here.

Thanks,
KC

    Hello, KC

Ezine's a great way to create links and it does take time for the human editor to get around to reviewing your articles.

I found that my first few articles too a little time to get "right" from the editor's perspective even though I thought they were just fine. But after a few submissions and you're in the groove and know what little errors to fix, you'll find that the review does proceed faster.

But, in the meantime, have you caught up with Google's Penguin Algorithm and that it seeks to penalize unnatural links? This, it seems, may include excessive article marketing, so before you embark on a major effort with ezine, I recommend following the forums on Penguin and the action steps.

    Warmest,

    Killara

Not yet. But I'll make sure to check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, first you need to inform yourself on Penguin forums, before starting any excess linking building on ezine or any other article directory.

I think you'll know within another 48 hours. Some patience is required.

The articles of new authors, who haven't yet attained "Platinum" status there, are understandably the ones that take up the most editorial time and attention, and are therefore the slowest to be accepted.

Once you get to "Platinum", and especially if you submit regularly, you'll get a faster service from them.

It usually doesn't. Mine are all typically published within about 7/8 hours of submission (and I'm not a "premium member").

All you need to do is submit 10 which don't cause problems and aren't rejected, and then they'll make you "Platinum", after which there's no further restriction on the number you can submit.

When thinking of increasing your exposure, the important thing is to bear in mind that article directories are for exposure to potential publishers, not to potential customers.

The only purpose of putting an article in a directory is for publishers of ezines and newsletters, and webmasters of relevant, niche websites, who have constant requirements for content, to find and re-publish it with your link at the end, so that you can attract some of their already targeted traffic to your site.

There's no other benefit worth talking about. No backlink benefit (and in these post-Penguin days, the possibility of penalities for widespread article directory submission, though that affects only people who unwisely submit to multiple article directories, not those who just submit to EZA).

And clearly there's no "traffic benefit" because the last thing any article marketer would want would be for their potential customers to come to their site via an article directory. We all lose most of that traffic, and article directories are making their living from all the people who don't arrive at our site but click on their AdSense instead.

None of that (trying to use directories for their own traffic or their own backlinks) is "article marketing" at all. That's just "article directory marketing", which hasn't been a viable business model for a few years (even before all those Panda updates decimated the directories' traffic and SEO potential).

This thread from the last day or two explains in more detail, too: question about article marketing?:

Alexa, go back and read his original post again. He's looking for exposure for his writing service. In this case, those publishers you mentioned are the customers he seems to be after.

In this case, the real benefit may lie in being a showcase, a sample of what's available, much like a runway show in the fashion world. You show off some of your best, most creative work, and seek orders for more.

Or perhaps he might use the link in his signature much like the credit given when an actress on the red carpet is asked "who are you wearing".

Hi. Thanks for this massive info you have here for me. It will help!

By the way, I do not intend to use my EA account for more customers. I just want to use it to show samples of my work. I believe ezine has the toughest screening when it comes to quality content. So if you can get your articles in regularly, it should speak about how credible you are as a writer.
