Selling domain name

Hello,

Can you please tell me best site to sell domain names? What is more important , domain name page rank or age? It is good idea to buy aged and with PR2+ domain name , and install wordpress,write content and flipp for good money?

    Some hosts and registrars like GoDaddy and Namecheap have domain auctions as well. You can check those...I'm not sure if the domain needs to be registered there, I wouldn't think so though.

    It depends as each one of these named above have different niches they seem to target. For example, Flippa is more for developed sites and the GoDaddy auctions seem to be more for non-developed and reasonable. The prime domains are typically sold through a broker or Sedo and Afternic. It truly depends on your domain name and the stage it is at.

    Aged domains are typically more valuable then PR as it has been my experience that the PR sites buyers are affiliates with less money they will spend.

    One thing I would caution as you go about the process is do not spend money on GoDaddy's domain appraisal certificate. Their valuations are ridiculous and, as far as I can tell, have no basis in reality.

    One thing you can do with GoDaddy is get a premium listing. That will cause it to show up with your sale price when users search to see if the domain is available. That might not be very valuable to you if you are looking to sell quickly, though.

      I am increasingly of the view that the best way to sell a domain is privately, to someone who really needs/wants it.

      Sure, you can put it up on Flippa, but that creates a public record anyone can see. If it doesn't sell and you offer it again later people will be able to tell that you didn't sell it for $x,xxx, and they'll wonder why you're now asking $xx,xxx for it when it's probably only worth $xxx.

      An unsuccessful sale sets a price expectation.

      I agree. You can try on Flippa, but you have to pay for listing and if your domain is not worth more than $500 at least I dont see the point of listing it there.

      In my opinion the best is to do some research and sell to end-user, any domain you have. You may also list it at Sedo, Afternic etc. just in case. Paying for listing would be advised only for high value domains.

    Both is important. When a domain name is aged you can build backlinks to the site more faster and when it has a higher pagerank you can climb the rankings much more faster. It can be a good idea to buy that domain IF you know and understand what you're doing.

    I have had really good luck selling short .com names on sedo. I have a good relationship with broker to get my name listed without having one to place a bid. I can do joint venture with you to get your names on sedo.
