How Do You Use Fiverr?

Hi everyone! I'm curious as to how many of you have outsourced work to Fiverr and what you used them for. The $5.00 price is certainly compelling, but a little voice in the back of my head says you get what you pay for. Have you outsourced to Fiverr? What did you use them for and were you pleased with the results?

I recommend testing the gigs first before outsourcing any job on Fiverr. I'm a seller there and I have clients complaining for poor services received from others and these days I have decided to test some of my competitors, and guess what? Not a single one delivered what he promised in the gig description.

In 99% cases you get what you pay for, the remaining 1% are devoted sellers but hard to find.

You have to search hard to find the gems. More often than not I haven't been disappointed, but have gotten what I paid for. I keep my expectations low for fiverr. And I stay far away from backlink gigs. Not saying they are all bad, it's just my preference. I find the graphic design gigs and voice work have been good investments off there. I would just make sure you read the feedback thoroughly and learn to separate the real reviews from the bs. Good luck !

I've used fiverr a few times. Some of the gigs I was satisfied with included: video creation and a press release article. Some of the gigs I wasn't impressed with was a blast message to supposedly thousands of twitter followers (not responsive followers).

But I have the same question as the quote below? That post was hilarious!!

I've used Fiverr a couple of times if I've had a brain freeze and just could not come up with a design of a logo on my own for one of my own websites. I even had someone take one of my own personal photos and turn it into a cartoon image I plan on using on one of my personal sites. I always read the feedback's and see how many thumbs up a gig has before I go with their services. I've been happy, but like anything on the web just do your research and follow your gut before spending your money even if it is only 5.00

Ive used fiverr a few times myself. I used a backlinking service for edu profiles. The service was exceptional, and I got my profiles. All the gigs I paid for I recieved proof of the work. Gigs I find not worth the money are for tweets, facebook, and most social networking, and "traffic" to money sites. The reason I say that is because of all the fake accounts, unresponsive tweets. Like bkat said you have to find the gems. I usually find high commented gigs and read comments before buying. But there is wide range of things to buy on fiverr, from videos for testimonials, to logo designs, making cartoons, fun stuff.

Some gigs are pretty good, but majority of the gigs are just plain garbage on Fiverr. You should read the comments, but don't trust them a lot, because people usually write the comments right after getting the gig, not after testing it. Basically, it affect the overall quality of the ratings and comments.

    Hi Kristie,

So far, never disappointed me. If you know how to search them.

    1. Look for only top rating and express gigs. Make a short list in an excel sheet. This sheet is not only for today. It'll work as a future reference and a time saver.

    2. Contact the sellers and ask questions. Check promptness of their reply. Tell them what you want and ask if they can deliver or not. This is good to eliminate post delivery dissatisfaction. If not delivered right, this messages will be a reference for you.

    3. Don't pay for article writing. For only writing go to iwriter.com. But if you want writing+ezinearticles submission+obtaining approval, then go for fiverr.

    Now my question to you-
What type of job do you want to get done from fiverr?

I use Fiverr for all kinds of stuff. Sometimes it's an article. Sometimes it'd for a picture of a good looking girl holding up a sign with my domain name on it. Sometimes it's for a 30 second voice over.

Other times? I once paid someone $5 to have them call up a friend and sing them happy birthday in a ridiculous accent.

I've used Fiverr for simple tasks... But then again you van be surprised for some gigs that some are willing to put up like, a voice over for under 5 mins, when other offers just for 30 sec. Those type of gigs are well worth more than what you paid for

I use Fiverr for all kinds of stuff...I can remember one time I tried to resolve a tecky problem I was having with a wordpress pluggin. I am no coder by any stretch of the imagination but I do have some experience so after about 1-2 hours of attempting to fix the problem myself I headed to Fiverr...my problem was resolved within 30 minutes...and that included the time it took to write what I was looking for and asking a few seller a few questions.

Fiverr is a goldmine and you should "LEARN" how to use it to grow your online business.

"it is what it is!" I mean come on...who could really complain about paying $5 bucks for a service Right? Sure they're some crappy gigs out there but if you take the time to read through some feedback you should be able to pick out the roses from the thorns.

Isn't your time worth more than $5 an hour? Stop wasting your precious time doing those mundane tasks and simply outsource it.

I have great results with Fiverr gigs creating short videos, setting up open linkwheels, creating tons of links, and creating accounts.

You need to do a search by RANKING. The best and most trusted gigs are listed first.

For every provider that is brand new or has complaints there are several that have 1,000 recommendations with only one complaint (usually by a competitor) or no complaints. Pick them.

I am constantly amazed by the amount of work someone will do for five bucks.

      Good luck.

Fiverr is a god-sent for many people, especially IMers. Outsourcing services for just $5 a pop is great for keeping cost down.

Like everything else, there are good and bad gigs on fiverr. You just need to read the comments of people who had used the services of the seller to gauge the work quality. So far I have encountered good and bad sellers on fiverr.

Here's a recent example of mine - I needed a logo for a new site. I needed it in a hurry, so I paid an additional $5 for 24 hour service. In order to hedge my bets and hope to end up with something I'd be happy with, I actually ordered from 2 different sellers.

End Result - For $20 and within 24 hours, I got a really good logo and an "eh" logo (which I'll probably just use as a graphic at some point.) Much cheaper and faster than using my local graphic artist.

Fiverr can be really hit and miss even if the seller has really good ratings. I've used Fiverr for graphic creation (Facebook cover photos, logos, videos, etc.) and have received very good work. I've also had sub-standard work created.

There is a lot of great deal on fiverr.. but its a bit hard to find them. My tips, when searching something..

    - Use subcategory
This feature is new, the result will be more accurate and relevant.

    - Sort the result by rating
After fiverr display all the gigs, sort them by rating. Fiverr will filter the results and only display gigs that popular and have high rating

I think those 2 step will help you to find a good deal on fiverr. Before place your order, do not forget to read their feedback. If you see a few positive feedback on the same day, it is a good sign.

The graphics I've had done have been great
One gig was totally false. The seller sent me and email and asked me to contact on that - then offered me a $2000 "gig" instead!!!

I often use Fiverr - I have bought Hotmail and Gmail accounts, graphics, lists of article directories and social book marking sites for Bookmarking Demon.

I tried a few link building services, but they did not bring much value.

    Overall, I am quite satisfied.

I use fiverr for all sorts of stuff. I used to try and do everything myself, but it makes far more sense to outsource for $5.

Here's what I've used it for in the past:-

    document submission

backlinks (but I don't do this any more)

    ebook cover design

    social bookmarking

    calssified ads

article writing (some of them are actually quite good quality)

I use the artists there. You can get a good drawing for your own pleasure for only $5. There are lots of great artists there and they are willing to draw for a small price. I don't use it for my business though. With all the get rich quick guides about Fiverr. It is hard to tell if you will get a good output from any gig. It is always a gamble.

The thing is you have to make sure that you are not getting automated works, most of the fiverr gigs would deliver automated work which is not too good.

Generally content creation is one of the big pluses of using Fiverr. It takes a while to sort through and test people out, but since you are only risking $5 it's still much cheaper and easier than going through the hassle of using odesk or elance.

Video, audio, graphics, articles, press releases - you can usually find decent quality on there.

As for the "cheap" vs "expensive" debate - yes, sometimes you do have to pay more for quality, BUT just because you are paying someone $50 rather than $5 does not necessarily mean what you get will be better... it may just mean that you could have saved yourself $45...

I recently commissioned a video testimonial and voice over gig. It was fantastic and I can't believe I got something that I can publish straight to my site without edits.

I use Fiverr all the time.....You must always take at look at the previous customers comments to ensure that it is legit! I always like to see them to have undertaken at least 30 gigs before I decide.

    Hope this helps you.

    Hi Kristie,

I have outsourced to fiverr and have been really happy with the work. So far I have had video intros created, facebook timelines and some Web design plus some cpanel work.

Just make sure you look for the people who have a good fiverr rating. all the best with it.

Fiverr greats: design, logo, video creation.
Bads, tweets, traffic, solo ads, seo.

This is my experience. I have found that if its something that disappears into cyberspace and comes back indirectly then avoid. If its something completed by the seller, and returns in an emial then you have a good chance. Needless to say, always look for feedback.

I realise that this is a vast generalisation and there are probably good sellers in all areas, just not always easy to find them.

I've had quite a lot of success outsourcing logo designs and general photoshop work to Fiverr, for the price you really cannot complain as long as the quality of work is half decent.

I have used Fiverr numerous times and have not been disappointed yet. I always search by "Rating" first and then read the comments from previous customers before ordering. I also check "Collected This Gig" to see how many he/she has completed. I try to chose someone with 100 "Collected This Gig". You would also want to check to see how long it will take them to complete your project. Some people are almost a month out from completion on some of the gigs. I hope this helps.

    Hey Kristie,

I am a Fiverr I have many gigs and I always over deliver! There are some really good deals.

I will give you a tip:

When you are searching for someone to do work for you, make sure after you hit the search button, you then click on:

    Rating

This will bring up all of the top rated people for what ever you are looking for.

It's a great way to out source any type of work that you may need

    I hope this helps.
