My mentor/coach has better things to do

No names but my mentor is ignoring me.

Helped me with one problem (more uplift my thoughts) and never heard from them again. Even sent a personal message asking for help with no response.

What would you guys request for a mentor. One that I can actually talk to and take guidance from? Someone that I can talk to about my individual problems with.

Or someone here that I can stay in contact with about some of my issues.

Thanks
Justin

It sounds like you need a counselor from that statement. Did you pay for coaching from your mentor? If yes how many sessions did you pay for. Good mentors are not free you know...

I'm looking for a mentor also. I don't have much money to pay, but I understand it's pretty likely I'll have to shell some out for a real mentor. And I need one. Anyone available please PM me.

I signed up for their membership and pay monthly. Says free hosting so I'm paying for the membership and assumed I could contact him for help. I don't know what I'm paying for if the hosting is free.

I mean after paying hundreds over months of time I should be able to ask a question or two and get help. Or at the very least get a response from a personal message to him.

You are paid for a membership not coaching. The owner is not obligated to spend one second with you. If you want a mentor it will cost you $100 an hour and up to $1,000s per hour.

No offense but I would cut my loss and find a better way to make money. There are too many successful programs and willing mentors out there to waste money and time on going nowhere. Does your program have a community forum within it you could reach out to? Mine does, and if it weren't for that, and my wonderful coach, I don't know where I would be.

I guess your "mentor" is quite busy with so many students? He might have missed ur emails?

I guess OP do have the rights to ask his "mentor" questions, coz the member benefits page state regular free Q and A sessions .

Most mentors are a waste of money IMO. Unless you get one who's been successful and will guide you step by step replicating their success. If you have an idea what you're trying to do and where you're trying to go. Most of your issues can be resolved online via search engines and forums. Most problems you'll come across, someone has already dealt with.

If you're not paying him, he may be too busy. As stated above, it sounds more like counseling that you're asking for than mentoring. If you paid him for mentoring, keep it to business. Personal problems and mental state are your job. His job as a paid coach would be to coach you in business to attempt to get you to profitability.

Edit: Just saw this. If you've been paying him for mentoring and coaching and you're not getting it, tell him you'd like to have your fees back if he doesn't have the time to fulfill his obligations. See what he says.

Well my friend if it's IM related than ask here I'm sure someone will be able to help you, but other than that like stated above you may have to get counseling. Your business coach/mentor is often not qualified to help you with personal issues

As far as I'm aware there are at least 6,000+ members
of the membership site in question.

Even if only 1% of members ask him just one daily question,
      that's 60 e-mails per day.

Plus, no where on the sales page does it say that you
can get one-on-one personal access for coaching or
      mentoring.

FFS. Do you really expect personal coaching for just
$37 per month (plus free hosting, video tutorials,
membership area, ebook with resale rights, etc.)?

      Dedicated to mutual success,

If this is the case, it puts a whole new light on your question. Does it or does it not state that you get personal, one on one coaching? If so, you got a heck of a deal at $37/mnth if you actually did receive the coaching. Most coaching programs go for a lot more than that.

The guy pays $37 bucks a month and he wants his hand held. Your advice is if he is not helping ask for a refund. The guy gets access to a membership but he did not pay for coaching. The owner is not obligated to even answer his emails. The coaching is inside the membership. The owners time is worth hundreds to thousands per hour. Send him an email with a subject saying willing to pay $1,000s for coaching and you might get a response.

Not to many choices here. Read the sales page or whatever agreement you had and if he is not living up to them......... Simply get your money back. Some people however do just disappear. I hate to say it, you need to research first. I have yet to see a real coach that actually helps you get results that is cheap.

I started out thinking you got a bad deal, then as I learned more I knew better.
If the $37 is true, then yes you are likely asking for too much. Network with some friendly people, or take action on your own.

Oh - now I know who you are talking about.

This particular membership has a very active members forum, and some of the best moderators in the business. In fact it seems like those guys work 24 hours a day because they are in different timezones.

Get in touch with the moderators, go to the forum, I know from experience they are always willing to work with you.

The owners is real good and has created several decent courses, but most of the time he is working -- which is why he has put a team in place.

    Why is this so hard?

All that matters is - what were you promised for your money?

If it was 1-1 attention and questions answered - you've been let down.

If it was something else then maybe your expectation is the problem.

That's BS. You should get whatever you were promised - just because you only pay $37 doesn't mean you should get nothing, or expect nothing.

If you do get nothing - then you got ripped off, whatever it was.

You all make good points. This thread was not to rant about my lose. More to find a solution to my problem.

I do understand about how many emails they get ( I messaged on FB) but the fact is I'm a customer asking a question. I even said if he could suggest a person I could talk to as I know he is very busy. There is a forums section and didnt even suggest to go there. I got nothing. Not very good customer support when I'm promoting his products. If any of you got an message of a customer asking a question, would you just ignore it? I don't think you would as threads like this start happening. I know I wouldn't, me or my team would say something.

Wouldn't you still see him as a mentor. Making videos to make a personal connection and engage on following his foot steps to sell his products. Build your business and walk you through on somewhat personal videos. Then you cant even ask him a question. To me its kinda misleading.

As for the forums. I'm very leery on taking help as I have done it before. Got me no where.

Now if I found someone to have a one on one conversation out side the forums but found them in the forums, I'm game.

I say this as when I first started I tried to answer everyone's questions. Did I help, probably not for most questions. Now I only answer questions I know or point them in the direction to get there questions answered.

The point for me talking about the forums is, I done what I done. Means there are other people doing the same thing. So I cant take what people say off of forums and apply what they say to my business. Can take the idea but not the steps their telling you to take. They don't know me or my business. Don't know my knowledge, what I done or how I done it. There just ideas you can take and apply them how you want to.

That's my problem. I can apply and take action all day but most of the time its the wrong action to take. Now I think what I need is a partner. Someone to keep in touch with out side the forums. Someone to help me with a better business plan and come up with a daily schedule for me to take action with. I do take action every day, like I said most of the time its the wrong action to take or I'm doing it wrong.

It was my fault for making it sound like I need personal help (I don't). I think I have the right mind set on understanding this is a business and action is a must.

I want personal help with my business not me.

    Thanks
    Justin

Messaging through FB isn't the most effective way of
getting in touch. Especially when there's a dedicated
      support desk in place.

Maybe if you submitted a ticket you'd get your question
      answered?

You know, a course is one thing and mentoring is quite another.

Andy's reply (above) is spot on. You were either promised mentoring or you were not. If you were promised it and you are not receiving it, then you have a case. Otherwise, you don't - simple as that.

If you're unhapppy you may want to consider not promoting him in your signature until you can figure it out.

If you are really looking for a partner - most partners expect you to be up to speed already. If you're looking for a mentor/coach that gives real 1-1 time and suggestions, expect to shell out the dough.

Hope you can find what you need.

Ask for refund & use this community for finding or exploring the same thing which you need to consult from your mentor

Its really bad that he is not responding now which shows he is either not interested to continue or is failing to fulfill your queries....

You certainly need a mentor who really understands his stuff and possibly one who has many years of marketing experience.

There are many people who claim themselves to be pros or gurus while you might be more knowledgeable than them. Don't believe every self-declared guru out there. Do your research first to find out whether the person is really reputable and credible and then hire him/her.

If you are satisfied with his advice and tips he gives you, you can have him hired for the long-term but if there's something you dislike, move on and find another mentor. There's really not much point in working with someone who doesn't meet your needs. The Internet is huge and there are many people who can be more suitable for you and your circumstances.
