According to the current issue of Mental Floss, the best time to email is 11AM

"Analysis of more than 200 million emails found that people are most likely to read their mail shortly before their lunch break. Send one at 11am to be at the top of the pile"

That is a good piece of information assuming your subscribers are in the same time zone or your auto responder can figure out people's time zone by IP and send accordingly.

Most of the big time gurus launch their products in the afternoon on Tuesday's or Wednesday's - they think they have the highest conversion rate on these days.

On our websites (selling hard goods to a North American clientele), peak traffic is between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Blog actively at Bloggerkhan.com. I continue to be a student of internet marketing and am fascinated by how different people use the same tools to get different results. I also do reviews -often because I can't find a good review elsewhere.

I don't remember exactly where I read it, but if my memory is still serving me well, 2PM is mentioned as the best time, after people had lunch.

I once spoke with a coach here in the Warrior Forum and asked him when's the best time to bump a thread here. I was informed that 3PM EST is best. Perhaps, that can be associated to sending emails, too?

I've tried various times and dates and for me personally, Tuesday and Friday 11AM-3PM slot converts the best when it comes to outreach emails.

I avoid sending emails on Monday because people are usually very busy on the first day of the week.

I agree. Even us here on Content Writing 360⁰ do not send follow-up emails for our clients' orders on a Monday, unless it's a client's request or something that's really urgent.

That's great too, I've always wondered about that, I'll give it a try.

    To which time-zone?

And if it's just to an email address like gmail, so that one can't tell in which time-zone the recipient lives, what's the best time then?

When it's 11.00am somewhere, it's 11.00pm somewhere else - and many variations between, too. "Just saying".

I take the point that emailing for the recipient to get it at 11.00am his time may be nice/good/preferred, but how is that supposed to be helpful when you're sending out emails to whole lists of people who can and do live almost anywhere in the world?

Best because there are most people online, or fewest? Which would you prefer?

This one is "swings and roundabouts": the times that most people are online are the times that most people try to bump their WSO threads, so they get more viewers per hour but also last the shortest number of hours on the front page. At other times, they stay there for more hours but there are fewer browsers per hours to see them. People who call themselves "coaches" don't always think of that reality.

Get Response has a nice feature that allows you to schedule email blasts to be sent out at a specific local time in each recipient's own time zone. Not sure about other ARs...

11AM on Tuesday is the best for me.

I like Aweber's feature that lets you pick when the follow ups will be sent.

It has little to do with time and day. It has everything to do with expectations. After your first run of funneling followups you should know exactly what makes the person on each individual list tick.

Give them what makes them tick and they will set an alarm clock to get up and open your emails.

Side Note: One of my best open rate headlines .. Troy Here. This is because "Troy" gave them a little something juicy in their previous email and left them wanting more.

Her's my experience with my list :
Best days to send an email are:Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

What’s wrong with the rest of the days?

I found that people is generally out of the office on Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday, people are recovering from the sweet weekend and will not be in business mode yet. They may have a number of things to do on this day and are not quite interested in offers .

On Friday, they are interested in wrapping things up.

So I'm left with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as the best days.

I avoid holidays or any major vacation times.People tend to have a morning ritual of checking their bank account after burning their credit cards ,cleaning their inbox from any spam that arrived overnight. I don’t want them to see my offer when they are in a deleting frenzy, trying to find anything they can clean up.Rather,I send it while they are in the middle of a workday .

    My best open rate is from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. (GMT -7 time zone)
