When it comes to making an account name, try to choose something that won't be offensive to anyone. Remember, people have to be able to buy things through you so using part of your real name is a sign of trust.
Promotion
Is the product you are promoting something that you yourself would purchase? If you are going to promote a product it has to be something that you would use or believe in otherwise you are not going to have a successful time promoting it.
Find tools and tips
Sometimes there are other affiliate sites that can offer free tips and tools to help you. Once you get better at promoting products you can maybe return the favor and make a website for tools and tips to help other affiliates just starting out.
Flexibility
It is very important that you are open-minded and willing to make changes to your promotion of products if what you are currently doing isn't working. Another thing to keep in mind is that the affiliate business tends to change quickly, and you need to be able to go with the new techniques.
Testing
Sometimes you are not sure if your promotion campaign is working so you might need to test it to see if it is.
Research
The World Wide Web is your friend, and you can use your friend for research. You should try going to a search engine and search for ways to promote products.
The List of Don'ts
Don't spam
Spamming is a fast way to get your account suspended. People are instantly turned off if they are spammed, and you could inadvertently drive customers away.
Negative campaigns
Do not use advertising campaigns that will point out the flaws of another product. When you are promoting a product always point out all the good things and eliminate anything negative.
Your own purchasing
Though it is good to be behind a product, this does not mean that you yourself have to buy it.
