Wordpress Plugins for YouTube - Legality

My in-box has been blasted lately with Word Press plug-ins and similar products that modify the YouTube player which you embed on your site or blog. They strip out the logo, add images etc.
All sounds well and good <<<BUT>>> this is a direct violation of YouTube terms of service and could get you account shut down! See for yourself Paragraph 4F.

All I'm saying is ... BE CAREFUL!

Why is it such a problem to embed Youtube videos anyways?

I am not sure why you need to replace Youtube logo?

The logo is linked back to YouTube. People get worried that people watching the video on their page will click the link to YT to watch more videos rather than take the desired action (buy, subscribe, share, etc.).

In addition, there is a segment of some markets that will view using a free video host and player as an indication that the video creator is either not serious, not competent or crooked.

While that may be legit in parts of some niches, the way to keep people from clicking away from your video to watch others is to make good videos in the first place.

Youtube hosts your videos for free, and they need something to live. That explains their ToS. If people don't want to have back links to Youtube, they can host videos themselves, then pay for space, bandwidth. They will lost a big community too. Those people really need to consider their options.

If bandwidth is an issue because so many people are watching your video, maybe using a CDN like S3 or MaxCDN might help. I know Max-CDN integrates easily with flowplayer, and works with other players too I am sure.

If your choice of a video player is dictated by how much you can trick people to click on your video or reduce the functions so that they are forced to watch the entire video, your business has a problem in the first place. I know this is not the OP's issue and you are right, way better to follow the TOS and keep your account.
