Hello all, just a few questions on list marketing:

* How many subscribers should you have before you start sending out emails?

* As you go through your Autoresponder sequence, are you trying to get people to purchase one 'main' affiliate product or do you try and sell multiple products of which you have an Affiliate ID for? This is all assuming that you've built some type of relationship first

You can do it many ways....but you probably do not want to try to sell 10 products in a newsletter. Newsletters normally focus on one product...why that product is good; testimonials are also a good idea etc... You know what I mean?

    Thanks

There is no minimum number of subscribers that you should get before you can send out your to your list, you can send out even you have 2 subscribers, but the thing is the larger your list the better, so I would say at least 2000 subscribers is recommended.

Start sending emails as soon as you have someone on your list! They don't know how many subscribers you have and plus, they may be the ONE to purchase a product from YOU!

Marketing to your subscribers in a way that is representative of you is what email marketing is all about.

If you have a list of 10 affiliate products in your arsenal that are applicable to your target market, by all means send them out - not all at once of course - more like a story method of how this one is amazing because of this and that one can help you do this.

Tell a story about each of those products in your email messages - the amount of time you devote to each product may be different - if your messages aren't getting any response on one product, move on to something else, but ultimately, engage with stories!

      Hope that helps!

start with 500+ subscribers for some good conversion
you can start with even 5 but this is a less amount for good conversion
start with something good for batter result

As Christine stated, start right away.

I have an Auto Responder Series set up for each of my lists so as soon as someone joins, they start receiving that AR Series and throughout each AR series I promote products as an Affiliate.

You only need one or more people on your list before
    you start sending out e-mails.

I normally focus on selling one product at a time and
develop an autoresponder sequence with e-mails go
into the different benefits/reasons why the product
    is a good purchase.

Once a compelling autoresponder series is developed,
I then move on to adding to the series for another
    relevant product.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

Market your products immediately no matter what size of list you have. If you wait till your list gets bigger before you start promoting it could be too late.

It depends on the relationship you build with your subscribers. Few hundreds people that listen to you is better than thousands that don't read your emails and don't trust you.

I started making money with my list even when they subscribe and see the OTO
    - it could have been an affiliate product, of course.

I suggest you do not have to wait until your list as big as necessary.
You will need to make a buyer list as soon as they get into your list.

Depends on the quality of your list. If this is a list of buyers, you can do well with even 300 people. If it's a list of freebie seekers and/or junk traffic, you'll need thousands, like somebody already said here.

This is all assuming that you've built some type of relationship first
Try to keep it low with the selling. What niche is your list? Keep products related to that niche.

Looks like most people here are saying the same thing. Definitely start your emails right away. I have personally stuck with promoting one product but have also promoted multiple products with my email list so I think it depends on what you want to do or what works best for you.

Just send them quality information directly related to your product.

You then have the chance to direct them to the product after they have realised you are someone who is willing to give them useful and usable information that is of high standard.

This only increases your chances of building trust and a strong relationship with your list.

Your repsonse rates will begin to increase because of this.

Hope this helps in anyway and all the best with your future efforts!!!

    One.

The first person who opts in needs to hear from you on the day they opt in, and again within another couple of days.

Every person who opts in needs that, which is why you need it all automated in an autoresponder.

Otherwise you end up eventually starting off a thread with a title like "Why is my list unresponsive"? :p

    It's all about continuity.

Generally the latter, because I wouldn't want to "do all that work" (i.e. getting a website online and writing stuff) for a one-product niche. What you need to develop, at some point, is a system of transferring people who have bought a product to a different list so that you don't keep promoting to them something they've already bought. The more you can segregate your lists, right from the time you start them, the better. There's no downside to doing this: it's all "advantages". (It's easy, using an autoresponder, to send messages out to multiple lists without anyone on more than one list receiving more than one copy of the message.)

I definitely would agree with Alexa here, people opt in to receive emails from you and you would wait to build a list before you do?... If in case you do that the person who opted in might feel a little surprise to see your email and junk it simply because they forgot about opting in to your site

A note on Alexa's comment on the importance of continuity - I have been sending an email out to my list once a week for over a year. Recently, due to some circumstances, I went 2-3 weeks without a mailing. When I did send the next mailing, I got a bunch of unsubscribes - much more than usual. I guess the forgot they signed up since they hadn't heard from me...
