My girlfriend just left me

Hey guys,
I am a new member, I always heard about this forum and I always read in this forum. My girlfriend just left me for another guy I was right in the middle of leaving my bartending job at the pub. I quit my bartending job to start working on my own, and my girlfriend will spot me for a few weeks. She just left me for some dance club owner. I am freaking out but I do not want to fail. I am not gonna sit here and talk about the girl and be sad. I need all of your help, I am calling all big guns in here to help me. I am a hard worker I can basically teach myself anything, and if I don't know how to do something I will first try to teach myself by the web and youtube and I am not lazy. I will ask for help. I have sit and read all day from this morning and now, I read to the year 2010 threads! I am a little bit confused as to what my options are. My goal is to make $20,000 a month. I don't know what my options are? Amazon Affiliate? Clickbank? e-book? adsense? high traffic blog? Can you go over what my options are. And yes I did read most threads up until 2010 threads. I know it can be done, and I can tell everyone on here is helpful the world is so big and there is much business to go around and so much money out there for all of us to make. I can't wait to look back at this thread. I do have money to get this going, money for hosting, domain, seo, etc. I am not broke yet, because this just happened. If I don't do anything then I will be broke and in an worse situation than I am in now. Just tell me what to do, or give me options, try to make it simple as you can, I am a little bit stressed out right now.

Please help me and in easy plain english what to do and how to make it. I know everyone asks this question, but please read this and post a reply. I am basically rock bottom. I just don't know what to do between all these thing an Internet Marketer can do.

Thanks to all of your help. I have the ball in motion!
I have picked my niche now so I want to put up a the WP blog, talk about this niche give good information to enlighten people about this topic. Do some good blogging.

Don't worry I will have optin in get my free e-book and this one will have good information and make it the best knowledgable e-book (right?)

I want to have an opt in newsletter or "get my free e-book on how to..."
Eventually I would like to have on this WordPress site - Adsense, CB, Amazon affiliate, sell my own e-book, sell my own products too. I need help with more direction though.

      Ok here we go:

      1.) I picked my niche/topic/industry
2.) I purchased my domain from GD
      3.) I got a HG hosting account
      -------------------------------
4.) Next, get WP....is it wordpress.org or .com?
5.) I need to get a theme, I read 100 of posts about WP themes and it looks like everyone like themeforest.net - I go to the WP category, now which category/section is for me? blog, creative, misc, ecommerce??
I open to ideas on which theme is good, or help me with which category to look in on themeforest

Which kind of themes should I browse in (something that I can blog, sell my e-books, sell my products, blog more, adsense, amazon affiliate, CB, have links in there so when people click I get money, etc.

Help guide me through this on what to do next.

First off (and please don't take this personally) but I don't believe you are in the proper mindset to truly find success online at this point. You said it yourself you are stressed and at rock bottom--which could indicate that you may or may not be desperate.

When we are desperate we make some rash decisions that may not necessarily benefit us in the future. How do I know? Because I've been there. So please don't take my post as me talking down to you. Just saying, take a deep breath, find that peace and then begin working.

Now that we got that out of the way.

Your best bet is to sell a service, or better yet target the bar tending niche with tips and tricks on how to get into the industry. That would mean creating your own product, from your own experiencing and getting a launch put together.

Of course there is always affiliate marketing, however, your revenue will be severely delayed to the tune of 30 to 45 days depending on the platform.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I do agree that people in desperate situations tend to take more risks and do things they would not normally do... but a lot of times this can be a good thing.

I sat on the Internet for 8 years trying to make money. I had a day job so my mind knew I had all the time in the world to make money online and if I didn't, it wasn't going to be the end of the world. I knew nothing more back then than I do now.

It was until a few years ago when I walked in and told my boss I quit that all of a sudden I HAD to make things work. I started doing things I could easily have done over the previous 8 years but I had just never needed to do them. The desperation had never been there. I started taking massive action. I started doing things I would normally think were below me.

Being desperate was what turned things around for me. I think this guy does definitely have the right attitude. He's not sitting here whinging about his girlfriend, he is trying to turn this negative into a positive. Then he can go and do doughnuts in his Ferrari outside this girls place.

Big goals are great but I would first start with something that sounds more achievable. Offering services of some sort is one of the fastest ways to get up and running online. If you are no good at services yourself then you can become the middleman. Find a service that is in high demand and find someone who is good at offering that service. You find the leads and be the link in the chain and profit the difference.

        Will,

I myself know that that it can be a good thing. However, in this case, for someone who is totally green (assumed from the OP's question) desperation leads to problems quickly.

For more experience marketers, even those who have been around the block just once, I think it's a safer bet to reel in those emotion's, get a straight head and go from there.

Not arguing with you, just trying to speak in relative terms to the situation at hand. The guy is asking for ways to make big bucks online and hasn't outlined his skill-set.

As always just my two cents and speaking from experience.

Your comment is spot on. It is different from person to person but for many they only take action when desperation takes over. And many of them manage to do the right thing and come on top.

I don't think you should wait but try to be rational about everything.

And about the girl, it sucks but if it happened now it would happen some day. Unreliable people never changes. Better sooner than later after you got married and with kids I think.

First off, sorry about your girl Zach. I know it must be tough, but it can only make you stronger right?

Anyways, here's something to get you started. Making money online may take a while unless you have quite a bit to spend on advertising. So you may want to look into something offline you can start doing right away.

Since you're familiar with working as a bartender, you could start by offering Online Reputation Management to local bars, restaurants, ect.. Of course, you don't have to be limit yourself to those niches, as pretty much any business will benefit from this.

I've sent you a PM with more info, since it's a pretty long subject.

If you put your head into it, I'm sure you can make it work. All the best.

Advertising, do you mean Google pay per click? Online reputation, is it about reviews?

Yep. AdWords, Microsoft Adcenter, Facebook Ads, they're all PPC.

And Online Reputation Management is exactly that - managing someone's online reputation.

Many times businesses get negative reviews online, and either don't know about them, or don't know what to do about it. That's where you come in.

The PM I sent you should cover everything.

The only advice I can give you is to buy a nightclub when you have the money.

Until then you can either concentrate on building a business, or get desperate and start throwing sh1t against a wall and see what sticks.

Honestly, you'll go crazy trying to make $20k online without some sort of income to fall back on. You can make a ton of money online, but it's better to have quality of life first. I would find a way to support myself, and then look into doing online marketing.

A cheap and easy way to make money online is to get signed up with a CPA company, such as Peerfly or Max Bounty, and create videos free on YouTube driving traffic to the offers. It costs virtually nothing, and it will get your feet wet.

Get some money coming in first though from some sort of work, once you do that, you'll enjoy being an internet marketer, rather than stressing yourself out over it, and quitting.

Fine words. Don't worry I am a hard worker and just seeking advice. I attempted to google online, but holy comoly! There is way too much junk out there, and they all ask for my cash. I understand I have to spend money to get money, like I said I do have money to spend, and I will spend it wisely. With something I know I will make monster money! And yes I will bust my behind to do it. I am willing to do that

I am confused about the blog approach, everyone tells me to find a niche. What are my options if i do that, get domain, get hosting, get wordpress, etc.
Ok write blogs, so what happens from there? This is were I am confused. Clickbank? Amazon affiliate? adsense? sell good quality e-book, and get their email and flood them with other stuff to pay for? how will i compete with all the other internet cash flow making blogs?

Thank you very very very much - I have been online the entire day and have not ate a thing, I should make myself a sandwhich I guess and drink a monster energy drink. I will overcome this, and thanks to everyone in advance in the awsome forum!

I can understand where you're coming from, man. You want someone to tell you exactly what to do, right?

Well unfortunately- and in some ways fortunately- building an online business isn't really like that. It's not like school where there's a right or wrong answer. Or a mixed drink that requires this amount of X and that amount of Y.

Everyone on this forum makes money different ways-
        • Some people promote Clickbank products through article syndication
        • Some promote CPA offers through Pay Per Click
        • Some sell writing, web design, or SEO services
        • Some sell Private Label Rights products
        • Some build up blogs or minisites to get lots of traffic, and then put Adsense on those sites
        • Some build very small, targeted sites and promote Amazon.com as an affiliate
        • Some sit and cry on the WF and wonder where all of the money is
        • ....do you see my point yet?

My point is this- nobody can tell you what to do. If you want to build a blog in a certain niche, that's just one step in a direction- but there is no the direction.

The same goes for how you monetize that blog. You can promote Clickbank, Amazon, Adsense, your own product, sell advertisement space to marketers- there's all KINDS of things you can do.

The best thing you can do is spend some time learning, and go try something for a few months.

Personally- I'd recommend offering some kind of service to raise funds. Or go beg to get your job back. Or both.

        Preferably both.

Find a niche you will enjoy writing about and people will spend money in.

Now just write an article every week and promote it.

Get people onto a list where you give them lots of extra information and occasionally offer products.

You will get the hang of it as you go on.

I'd say the MOST important thing is finding the niche you will stick to and turn into a business, and also getting the right domain name.

Just work on one thing until you see success, BUT make sure it's the right niche.

That is a problem. Goal setting that is progressive usually works
better when it's done in chunks.

First set a $5k per month goal... the hard part is making it
to that, it gets easier as you go.

I think the first thing you should do is take a minute to step back and take a deep breath. Think about exactly what you want to attack and what niche you are passionate about. Figure out what makes you tick and what drives you. It's not just the money I'm sure as we all have drive other than money and may not know it.

I would cut that number in half minimum too. $20k from scratch is a tough battle. Doable but not easily from scratch and not without time. Focus on life and what you want in long term and not just on the $20k.

I wish I could help more but I can tell you this...life's obstacles are events that make us stronger and everything happens the way it's supposed to happen. Things will be ok. Just conitnue to focus on YOU as a whole and not her.

First I'd take a look at Will's advice (post #15), it's a very good thread. I'm not saying you are desperate but I've had a lot of good ideas from that thread as well. It's not just for desperate people.

Second, assuming that lady in your avatar is your ex, don't torture yourself, have a picture of just you.

Third, sorry to hear about your situation. We have all been there, some of us too many times. It does get a lot better though.

You said you were "in the middle of leaving your bartending job". If you still have it, I strongly recommend you keep it - at least part time and enough to pay the bills. If you can't do that, then perhaps get another bartending job in the meantime.

While it's not impossible, it's not very realistic to expect to go from complete Internet marketing newbie to replacing the income you had coming in in a really short time.

As for being desperate - which is implied in saying you're "at rock bottom"; Will is right - and so is BloggingPro. Desperation can be motivating, but it can also be paralyzing, which makes it very difficult to focus and make good decisions. Every person is different in terms of how they handle it.

I'm curious as to why $20,000 a month is your goal. Nothing wrong with having lofty goals, but why not start with a more realistic goal (like $3000 a month) and then keep expanding it in increments as you hit each one?

Anyway, I hope you are able to find something that works for you. There's plenty of information for free right here on this forum, but you've got a lot of work in front of you in terms of finding out what works best for you.

sorry to hear about your g/f , the very first thing you have to do is "be calm". then think what you really want to do? On what subject you are good (marketing, writing etc.)?

Make a plan and stick to it.

Hey bro, sorry to hear about your girlfriend, though by the sounds of it you probably dodged a bullet.

Anyway, on to more important things

You've got information overload - don't sweat it.

Here's IM success in it's simplest form:

    1) Choose a passionate niche of buyers where youalso have a genuine interest
    2) Offer a freebie in exchange for their email address behind a squeeze page
    3) Drive traffic to that squeeze page
    4) Deliver useful information and promote relevant affiliate products to your subscribers
    5) Develop your own products, recruit affiliates to promote them for you
    6) Hit $20,000 a month and flip your ex-gf the bird

    Sound good?

Don't forget what you're here to do, sell stuff.

You need to focus on doing what I outlined sequentially, start with the niche selection process and research as much as you can about niche research, then do what's required and move on to building your squeeze page.

    God speed soldier!

    Gavin

Perhaps the ex-girlfriend was the one who dodged a bullet.... It's certainly not fair for anyone to blame her for this guy's situation.

Go back and beg for your bartending job back. You should have never left it without a year's backup income in savings to tide you over and you should have never asked a girlfriend to "spot" you while you experiment with IM. I probably would have bailed too.

Sounds harsh ... yeah, but reality is that it is irresponsible to expect someone else to support you, especially a girlfriend and irresponsible to leave a job when you have nothing else going.

It was not a big deal about your girl friend left you...The most important thing is you need stand up and make your dream come true. Making $20000 a month is possible and you must have the right mindset and strong desire in making this goal come true. You need to get involve in the right business program to help you to grow and a program that you guide you through to achieve your goal. There are still many business opportunity out there which you do not have to use huge investment to begin your online business. I have the same goal like you do...I'm chasing after it..be positive and be focus. Cheers!

I started with no job and I pulled it of so i reckon you can.

All I can recommend is to get a proven course and keep working on it till you're successful with it.

What ever you do, don't jump around from business model to business model every week 'cos you didn't see results quick enough... It takes time to make money online despite what sales pages/videos will tell you.

And yeah, screw her. Sounds like she was just all about the money anyway. Pull this of and she'll be turning up with the begging bowl beggin' for forgiveness!

Good luck buddy... You can do it!

I love it when the girlfriend is all about money when she's the one being asked to foot the OP's bills and take care of him when he had the means to support himself.

Wouldn't the world be a wonderful place if all you had to do was ask and people just shelled out money to finance your dreams?

And I love it when someone jumps to unnecessary conclusions... on the internet... when you don't know even 1/4 of the story. Not saying I do, yet I'm not the one going in "guns blazing" because a guy mentions his failed relationship on a web forum.

For all you know, it could be completely fabricated, which makes your (again) unnecessary comments even more ridiculous.

Maybe you've been scorned in the past. I don't know. But MONEY isn't ALWAYS the reason for a failed relationship. Get a clue.

Sorry ... you've obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a sh*t what your opinion is.

I am offering sound advice and that is

              1. Keep your job. No one is going to take care of you and finance your dreams, that may or may not result in income, particularly a girlfriend who is probably young and doesn't want to "raise" a boyfriend.

              2. $20,000 /month. Nice goal, but don't look for it in the near future if you're not making anything online at this time.

If making $20K were that easy, these forums wouldn't be full of people who have tried this for years and not made more than a couple of dollars. If you want to create a profitable business, you need to be able to support yourself while trying to do so and invest some money in things that your business will need and take the time and work necessary to develop your business and make it profitable.

If you're not looking to start a profitable business and just looking for quick, easy money, stand in line with the thousands of others looking to do the same thing.

As previously pointed out, I had already provided the OP with some sound advice and was simply commenting on another user's post because I felt their commentary was unnecessary. This is a discussion board after all correct?

First: Take a DEEP BREATH then sit down and write out what your passionate about - what gets your juiciness flowing. Everyone knows something that other people are willing to pay for.
                      1. 1 Generate a few ideas and then get your basic research out of the way.
                      2. 2 Decide on what kind of product you will create i.e. Report, video audio or a combination of these.
                      3. 3 Outline the necessary steps you will need to take to create your product.

Then lock yourself in your office and STAY FOCUSED!

Once you have your product made run a WSO right here on the Warrior Forum.

Even if you're only selling a $7 report and you sell 500 copies that's $3500 bucks. If your information is good you can easily sell 500 copies.

Once you have gone through the process a couple of times you will be able to knock out your products in a very short time and you can even outsource to speed things up.

Become a reseller for an established line of products/services that are in demand. Use social media to establish a beachhead and create relationships with people who can benefit from buying your product.

To heck with your lame ex-girlfriend. It's a good thing you found out what she was about before you married her at least

I think you can make $20,000/month if you set your mind to it. You just need high demand, a quality product, and good communication skills.

Stay away from gurus, and buying worthless IM products, and really think about selling something that's high-quality and that people can use. Don't let naysayers tell you you'll fail. If you believe them, you will.

Setting a goal like 20k/month is great, if you put it in perspective and put a time frame with it. In the short term look to replace your current income, or at the very least cover all of your bills.

Sit down and put your budget together of what you need to survive (shelter, clothing, food). Once you have that number aim for that immediately (next 30-90 days).

Then, aim to replace your current income as a bartender (Next 4-12 months)

Then work for the 20k per month (next 1-4 years).

By setting realistic goals, and setting a concrete timeline you are more likely to reach your goals and not get discouraged.

    My advice....MAN UP!

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and expecting all of us to do the same and gather a pitty party for you. Get off your ass and get it done. Thats the Number 1 problem with newbies. They expect do make 20grand overnight and put 0 effort to it, then they come back on here wondering why it hasnt worked in 48 hours. Forget the gf and find another one. If its meant to be she will come back. If its not then let the (female dog) go. Dont sit here and pout. Do your research, find your niche, Put some effort into it.

You need to get your job back or get some kind of job to have money coming in. Being your own boss does not guarantee a paycheck. Work a regular job and do your own business on the side. When you make more money than your full time job, give it 6 months to 1 year. After this period then consider quitting your job and making your side venture/job a full time thing.

20,000 a month is quite a big goal when you are a complete newbie. I started out wanting to make $100 a month and when I did that I moved it up to 500, and when I did that I moved it up, etc. etc. I think you should find some work so you've got money coming in and then figure out exactly what you want to do and do it. I am sorry about your girlfriend.

OP, you can do it. But you may not find answer here. I would suggest you go over to the offline section of this forum and ask for John Durham. That guy is machine and a motivator.

There are people making a killing with what they have learnt from John Durham... One guy name payoman gave a break down of his last month's earnings of $7k. And he was able to do this with what he had learnt from John Durham. There are many more. You stand a better chance since you are based in US.

I shall be doing the same here in Nigeria and have even gone further to tweak the whole idea and add some more flavour.

Here is one of the greatest thread on WF by John Durm-->http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...knowledge.html read and enjoy.

I'm surprised that nobody so far has mentioned the obvious:
Write an ebook on how to keep your girlfriend.

This is the matter on your mind and you can look at the
mistakes you made and research how you can do better
the next time. But at least your passion could turn into
an instant project. In that way you don't have to worry
about the distraction of the lost girlfriend because that
would be the fire in your belly that propels your research.

This would be the all time winner. How to sucker your ex into financing your dreams.

I got the impression that the OP was more mad/upset about her leaving just when he decided to dump his J.O.B. and he was expecting her to "spot" him than he was about the loss of the relationship.

At any rate, quitting your job when you have ZERO coming in is a very dumb move. It's probably too late to get that job back. In this economic climate, I'm sure someone snatched it right up and is grateful to get it.

The quickest way to make some money (not even close to your $20K/mnth goals) is to get a Warriors for Hire thread up and roll up your sleeves and start working for people. But you do have to have some marketable skills to offer before you do that.

  • Business entrepreneurship (online or offline) requires a balanced mindset to take proper business decisions. My advice to you at this point is to fix your personal problems and then, once you're psychologically ready, get started.

The very fact that you mentioned that your girlfriend has left you (thread's very title!) indicates that at this moment your mind is more fixed into your personal than your professional self.

Take your time, breath, gather yourself together first, and then come back.

Zachrobinson, if losing your girlfriend to a richer man makes you want to be the president of the United State so that you can showcase what a better man you are then go for it.

Your girl has been stolen, want her back, go make some money.

Want her to regret her actions, go make some money too, if that is the way you become an incredible hawk.

Jeez, I open one little thread, and I've tumbled down the rabbit hole to the set of Maury or Springer...

Zach, you've gotten some really sound advice as far as making sure you're acting rationally. Also regarding getting an income that covers the bills.

To be fair, Will has a point as well. You want the basics covered, because wondering if the lights will come on every time you flip the switch can be paralyzing. Believing that whatever you do has to work the first time out of the gate will freeze you in your tracks. But you don't want to be too comfortable, or the 'manana' attitude can creep in and you get complacent.

      Look for a balance.

As for setting goals, you want something that is just challenging enough to keep you on the edge of being scared. For most folks, that is about five times what they've made in the past. Keeping the arithmetic simple, if you're used to making $1,000 per month, $5,000 per month might be a good first goal. Once you are comfortable making $5k, then you set your goal for $20k or something better. That leaves the door open for your subconscious to help you reach even further if the opportunity presents itself.

As for all the side chatter, it's silly. All we really know is a two-sentence account of one side of the story. Yet some are convinced the girlfriend was a gold digger all about the money - which the OP admits he doesn't have, Others are convinced that the OP is a user who viewed his girlfriend as a sugar mama.

Yet the only one who knows the truth is Zach, and even he only knows his view of it.

Let's get over it and move from Maury to Judge Judy, so we can argue over whether the girlfriend spotting him was a gift or a loan...

Get a hammer and a nail and start hammering very consistently.

Just because you are desperate to make money online doesn't mean that you are not able to do it right now.

Most likely, it's good that your girlfriend left you, meaning that she is probably not the right girl for you. But that's none of my business since I don't know you nor her.

Making money online is one of the most profitable paths you can take in life. And because it is so profitable and popular, many people are "trying" to make things happen.

I'd definitely not recommend any newbie to start with SEO or Google AdWords at this time. It's way too difficult and unpredictable for a newbie.
If you want to make real money online, you have to have a system that is not relying on someone else.

You need to be in charge of what you do and never let someone else have the power to possible take control over your financial future.

I'd recommend any newbie to start of with list building, affiliate marketing and creating your own products. Those 3 marketing techniques are the best and most stable ways to create an income on the internet.

If you're building a least all you really need to achieve is a stupid level of success. If you built a list of 3000 targeted leads, you have the power to pull in 4 figures a month by marketing affiliate products and your own products.

Start building a list and making money through affiliate marketing, product creation and coaching.

You can always find a new girlfriend, and a better girlfriend. So if I were you, I'd do some meditation to clear your mind and otherwise begin researching your new endeavor.

Focusing on research, rather than creating, will keep your mind occupied.

This is important since as a previous poster mentioned, you are probably not in the best frame of mind to start an endeavor.

I personally think that with a goal of $20k a month, you'd be best off creating a good priced product and more inexpensive supporting products, maybe with price points of $ 197, $ 97, $47, and smaller reports for your funnel at $ 9.99 and under.

    Good luck, pal.

Hey Zach it's a lot of sound advice in here my friend.

But the best three things you can do in a nutshell are:

    1. Get another job - so you can take care of bills
    2. Get into a profitable niche (check the searches on bar tending since you are skilled at that)
    3. Start building a list, and sell a service or product,

Since you do have some money to spend, consider getting a good mentor, as this will help you speed things up

If you stay focused - you may see a profitable monthly income in possibly 5- 6 months, depending the time and effort you put into (can't say it will be 20k but at least it is a good start.)

PS - try to stay away from getting another girlfriend until you are comfortable running your business. You don't want any unnecessary distractions

One of my main bits of advice is to find out who the good guys are to follow. If I then gave you a short-list that might come across as too self-serving. So hard though it is to give you my own list or mini list, I'll stop myself doing that. But homing in on who is truly worth listening to is one good way to go.

    All the very best.

There are a lot of conflicting things going on here that bother me. But what bothers me the most is that you waited till after your GF left you, to decide that you now want to become rich and successful.

Your post comes off like 90% emotions and 10% logic, and in this mindstate you are very unlikely to succeed at anything. I'm not trying to be rude I'm trying to open your eyes to the trap you are setting for yourself.

You need to focus on stabilizing your emotions, detaching from this girl, and moving on with your life. If you jump the shark in the mental state you're in now, and DO get rich, I can tell you for certain you're not going to feel good about it. Money will not make the pain of betrayal magically disappear. You need to deal with that pain headon, then save getting rich for when you are more emotionally grounded.

Thats just my advice & g/luck! - Red

ps. Somehow I missed your goal of $20,000 a month so that changes things.
It changes "90% emotional" to "100% emotional" and "O% logic". You are OBVIOUSLY in a very emotional state, so like I said work on that before you work on conquering the world. =]

Your doing this for the wrong reasons. Allow me to explain..

She left you. You shouldn't even be thinking about her right now BUT here is what you are doing. You want to make it big with Internet marketing (hence the 20k per month goal). You think suddenly becoming successful will get your girl back, which if it does - great you've just confirmed that she's only in it for the money hence leaving you for the dance club owner (who obviously has money).

Also, how can you expect to just quit your job and have your girlfriend support you for the entire time whilst you start making money online?

Forget the girl, and for now forget your quite ridiculous 'dream' - get your job back, or get another one so your atleast earning something, then in you spare time focus entirely on IM.

And as for your girl, forget about her, she's gone, you don't need her. I suggest to start by removing her out of your display pic.

This is will be my plan for you in this condition..

    1) Keep this desire and goal all the time, this will make you successful one day if you take this as a challenge. You will be successful, just don't loose this desire.

    2) You need a permanent income coming to your account whether through doing Job or selling service you must have this because you are very new in online income and it takes at least 3 months to learn it and than apply it, cause it is time consuming for learning and applying it. So must have plan A income source coming to your account every month so now focus on this but keep the desire on.

    3) Once you have plan A income than don't loose your desire and destination about online business. Start it as soon as your Plan A income started, everyday for 1 -2 hours, focus on it, get good mentor and practice it everyday.

For $20,000 per month I would highly suggest you learn lead generation income cause this is the fastest and most long term business in internet. Learn how to generate leads, how to build a lead capture page and so on. Make sure you choose the right mentor.

    I hope this helps

    Hi Zach,

Wow, you're quite a predicament and sounds like you need to begin making money pretty quickly. $20k/mth is a great goal, however it can be challenging to reach, especially for a new marketer such as yourself.

The quickest way to reach your goal is to create your own product so that when you make sales you're keeping all of the money. There's several products out there can you can purchase to show you how to make your own product and if you think you have the patience to do create it, I'd say go for it.

It goes without saying that speed of implementation is vital in your particular situation so I'd say you take no more that two days to create your product and get it ready to market and sell.

If you don't want to take the time to actually create your own product, there are two programs I would recommend that you can market and sell as an affiliate where you can earn 100% on all of your sales as if you created them yourself. They are high quality, high converting traffic generation products that serve dual purposes.

1.) Teach you how to effectively and quickly build your own online business.

2.) Allows you to earn 100% commissions in affiliate income.

Both programs are low teir with high converting back end up sales to increase your profits. (if your interested in learning more about these programs, send me a PM)

As far as your marketing options, I'd dive right into paid advertising as this is the fastest way to generate traffic and produce sales.

It's great that you have a marketing budget, but I wouldn't suggest you start doing paid advertising without first learning how to properly do it of course. There are numerous paid marketing strategies available to you, many of which you'll learn in one of the above programs should you choose to utilize them.

You can also check out the post I made that shares a simple to implement paid marketing strategy:

5 Steps To KILLER Bottomless Pit Banner Advertising

$20k/mth is possible, but wont be very likely in your first couple of months online. Sit down and write out a plan and set attainable goals for yourself. Soon you'll be able to rocket pass $20k/mth and laugh in your ex's face all the way to the bank ;-)

    Good luck!

    Ti Roberts

P.S. I couldn't leave this post without mentioning that if you're serious about hitting your $20/k mth income goal it is VITAL that you groom yourself and start listening, reading, and reciting positive affirmations and digesting any self help mindset material that you can. You'll also need to master the art of testing and tracking - the #1 skill you'll need really be able to scale your income online.

    For any business you need:

    Product
    Customers
    Marketing method
    Delivery method

What can you offer to people in the way of a product or service? If you haven't got anything to offer then you need to find someone with a product or service who you can affiliate.

Assess your network for people who would benefit from what you can offer or who have access to people who can benefit from what you can offer.

    Hey Zach,

I'm a newbie so I'm not going to give you advice on how you can go make $20k a month or if that's even possible.

Nor am I going to provide an opinion on desperation and its impacts - positive or negative - on your goal.

However, what I will say is, you have to be going into this for yourself. To make yourself happy. To make yourself a success. To allow yourself to be free of a 'job'.

This can't be about anyone else, especially not your ex-girlfriend!

If you make this about trying to show her she's wrong etc, you will not succeed (in my opinion). Whilst this can be a motivator, it's more than likely going to be a distraction and lead to you jumping from one idea to another in the hope of hitting that magic button. This has got to be about you!

So, my advice would be; Go take a little break from things and try and unwind. When you lose the feeling of hatred towards your ex, come back here and start a new thread with 'I'm new to IM and am looking for advice'. No back story and no mention about your gf. Just a positive attitude about starting a genuine online business for yourself.

    Good luck.

    G

I have to say this forum is definitely the place to get good advise on how to make money online. I love that so many people interact here (and have little side arguments as well ). There is one program I recommend to make the amount you're looking for. Have you heard of the Empower Network?

Right disposition and timing is everything when you want to succeed. And although heartbreaks can sometimes bring out the best in you, you need to stay focused.

I also suggest you start small first. 20K/month may be for your long term goal.

Hey Zach - first off, you have the right attitude that is needed to succeed at IM - passion, ambition, things like that. Keep that attitude and you will succeed fast.

As per your question - You can start with whatever you want but my advice is pick something you either know something or that you've done in the past - if there's no such thing, ask yourself if you have the money to go the paid-traffic route (because it usually takes some money to lose before you get profitable) and if you don't, consider the following ways of generating traffic:

    SEO
    video marketing
    forum marketing

The latter two are what people start at and it's understandable - you don't need too much if any technical knowledge to drive forum traffic to your offers and you don't really need to be a techie guy to upload some videos to Youtube.

The key in everything you can do online is to find a targeted traffic source and connect it with the offer or product you are promoting.

Sorry to hear that bro. That really suck. Some women are just after the money this days. Search the warrior forum, I am sure you will find valuable information on how to make money. Set your target low for now. $20k a month might be too much to ask for now but slow and steady you can get there. Good luck!

I was thinking about this a little bit more and realized you said you had read all of the 2010 posts....great, you read OLD news. Things change a lot in the online world. I suggest you read the stuff that is a little bit more recent. Also, pay the membership and dive into the members only area. You will find a wealth of knowledge in there and most of it is pretty current.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

You can do it! And yes, local bars doing reputation management and maybe SEO, Adwords, etc seems to be a good fit for you.

I want to have an opt in newsletter or "get my free e-book on how to..."
Eventually I would like to have on this WordPress site - Adsense, CB, Amazon affiliate, sell my own e-book, sell my own products too. I need help with more direction though.

I open to ideas on which theme is good, or help me with which category to look in on themeforest

Which kind of themes should I browse in (something that I can blog, sell my e-books, sell my products, blog more, adsense, amazon affiliate, CB, have links in there so when people click I get money, etc.

Before you start buying up stuff left and right, do yourself a favor and write a business plan.

To make money you have to sell *something* - Just throwing up a site and a wordpress theme and blogging away isn't going to get you far.

You need to ask yourself questions like these:

    1. Who is my target audience?
    2. What problems do they have that I intend to solve through use of my website?
    3. How am I going to solve that problem through use of my website/product?
    4. If I know how I'm going to solve their problem, what steps do I need to take to create that solution?
    5. I have the solution ready, how am I going to present it/sell it to them?
    6. How am I going to get traffic to my new site/product?
    7. Are my traffic options viable? (i.e will they work - I remember building a site and product at one point and after it was all said and done, traffic avenues that I expected to be open to me (google ppc and some other sources) wouldn't touch my site without some heavy spending)
    8. If running a blogs, authority sites, & email lists: What type of content schedule will I have? Can I write it all or do I need help? Does my niche have enough depth for me to write years worth of stuff?
    9. What are my deadlines for the items in my business plan? (A business plan w/o deadlines is meaningless)

Those are just some off the top of head. Ask yourself lots of questions to save you headaches down the road. Knowing the answers to questions relating to your business will tell you what type of WP theme will best meet the needs of your business and what other tools/knowledge you may need.

Preparation is just as important as action, in my opinion.

Excellent post. Despite the difficult situation, there is a need to use your head. Make a plan and execute. Just like football, best that you draw out a play first and run from there.

I agree with you, and you are right. I am ready to bust my tail off and ready to start from nothing into something lucrative. I am all about hard working, its just that IM is all new to me, I don't want to make any bad decisions and look for all your advice. I understand i will not make six figures overnight. I never know what to say when someone goes through a separation or a divorce. Sometimes I say, "Sorry to hear that", and the reality is in most cases, I should be saying, "Congratulations!".

The reason being, is most relationships end for a reason. And once things sour, and you get over the ending, you get to find out who you really are again and are able to see clearly again and can focus and move forward.

Good luck on your endeavours. This may be the best thing that ever happened to you.

My girlfriend left me too when I was doing IM. She did also run away with another guy.

But when the money began to roll in and the rumor began to spread, she wanted me back... But I didn't take her back because now I had the chance to bang any chick I wanted.

Think forward dude. There is 3.5 billion girls in the world. And when the money begin to roll into your bank account, then start to date. Don't let a girl come between you and Internet Marketing. That's the rule #1.

    Just my two cents,

    Hey Zach,

    What a sad story.
Don't let emotion go over your mind.
Take a deep breath first and try to think twice on how to engage in Internet World.
You must gone through a lot of research about internet marketing.
There are no overnight success in internet marketing.
It would really take you time to be successful in IM.

Well yeah, lets face everyone on here started where I am. We all wanted to improve our life and just have fun and maybe make some bucks here and there. We all started from where I am today...whether your from USA, India, China, Russia, Norway, Australia, Canada, Greece, Singapore, Philippines, etc. I respect everyone from all walks of life in this forum. The WF members are great people. We are all equal we are all humans, its just some people know how to focus on what will benefit their income, and some will coast through life. Its ok to give me some sound advice. Just think what you know today, imagine how great if someone came to you when you first started and said look kid let me save you some money - if you want to make the right bucks do this "..." but don't this "...." start doing this "..." and you will be successful. etc.
