If you had an email list of _____ how would you market them?

Have a question. Let's say you were able to get an email list of 5000 people signing email submits to get free apple products (iphone, ipad, macbook pro and air) how would you monitize the list and gain trust with them?

Is this a purchased list, or a list built by offering the free products? If purchased list, simple, don't do it. If you're building it:

    #1. Keep promises
#2. Send tips, tricks and secrets about those products
#3. Monetization is through recommending apps and accessories (only the good ones)

I have to agree with mgreener because honesty and integrity is the best business model on the web. Remember these people are looking for what they signed up for and they are not likely to buy something else that you try showing them. It sucks because the "give-aways" are a great idea to build a list and that is what they do. But you need loyal customers that will actually buy your product and are interested in it. These give aways do not get them for you.

I kind of feel that way. I mean I am promoting email submits and giveaways. I want to give them value and be honest in the emails but if they do these email submits after giving me their email would they be turned off right off the bat?

I am wondering if this kind of traffic is even worth grabbing their email before I send them off to the email submit giveaway offer or not.

by the way this is for me personally collecting my own list. Not buying one.

    1. Add value (via insanely useful content & tips)
    2. Nurture the relationship (email them regularly)
    3. You could recommend products or sell tutorials for products (ie: how to fix this, how to set this up, etc)

Email every 3 days, and keep promoting your products to these group of people. I know you said you grew this list... so offer them more similar products related to what they bought from you.

I think you guys are a bit confused and maybe its the way I worded it.

I have not sold anything to this list. I have offered them a simple email submit CPA offer such as "get a free ipad" that is all. All I simply do is make them fill out their email/name in a single opt-in email list before redirecting them to the CPA giveaway.

Is a list like that marketable? I understand and know that list building based on a product I try pushing them is easy see where the direction is going, but with a CPA giveaway offer I do not see a viable direction to go to build trust and turn them into paying customers and wanted feedback.

If all you do is send them email submits, by the time they've filled out 6 or 7 and haven't received an iPad or a Macbook, they probably won't trust you very much.

You can however refer them to quality content you know they will be interested in (and I'm assuming you do know, since you've been building the list yourself), and in turn they will will reward you with their trust.

And who knows, they may even buy something from you one day.

Thanks for the response. I am going to just going to finish doing the email submits I have already planned and focus my efforts elsewhere after.

Welps, guess you didn't pick up on my sarcasm there buddy. Sorry about that.

What I really meant to say was,

Sending email/zip submits to your email list is a bad idea, unless you want to lose their trust.

        Hope that helps.

Yeah you helped. I got the first message haha. I actually don't have the list built. I was going to build a list then after they hit submit they would be redirected to one of those email submit offers. I have decided that it won't be worthwhile to go that route and there are more profitable routes to take.

    a) get a affiliate of selling apple product from resellers .
    b) sell apple products or accessories by your own by promote hem with email marketing
    c) create a blog or site of sharing apples products information, review, latest apple tech news and place some adsense banner
    d) sell your email list to apple reseller

I believe you having trouble to grab quality subscribers that really need your items. That is why people trying to give something free which is related to what you provide or only target to the target market you want rather than numbers on the subscribers anywhere else.
