Dilemma: Start from Scratch or Continue with my current domain?

Hi Guys,

I know most of you are experts in online marketing and SEO, however, I have had this dilemma for the past few days. I currently run a Technology blog with the name of TechDron (techdron.com)TechDron. I have had that blog up and running since Feb 2011 and I have received a decent amount of visitors. I even managed to get to Google PR 2. Nevertheless, I started my YouTube channel too (youtube.com/techdron). I managed to get around 88 subscribers and over 200,000 views.

Here is the problem which I am facing right now. I am planning to write articles on my travel experiences, photography, current issues and of course my first love technology/gadgets. Should I purchase a new domain name and start from scratch and lose all my subscribers/readers or shall I just continue using the same branding, TechDron? Is it a suitable name for a personal blog?

What do you guys think? Your comments and suggestions would be mostly appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Don't throw away your work just because of new and plan in mind. You can make it an authority site and create some special categories for other niches/topics. It is getting harder to rank a site so continue working in that site. Just make improvements.

    • Thank you for your prompt reply. I really do appreciate it. I just have this gut feeling that it won't be catchy. People might be mislead by the name of the site as it deals with other topics other than technology.
    • And you are a fellow Pinoy. Mabuhay
