How Using Warrior Plus Helped Me Beat a Chargeback Attempt

I recently had someone attempt a bank chargeback claiming someone else had made an unauthorized purchase using their PayPal account.

I am sure that sometimes happens, although I suspect it would be for big ticket items, and multiple purchases, and a thief would not risk jail just for a $10 WSO. But who knows.

Using the purchase information provided by Warrior Plus, which provides a very handy page showing the name, email address, and IP of the buyer, and the date and time a purchase is downloaded, with the IP of the download - screenshots were taken and provided to PayPal with a request that they compare them to the IP and details of the person claiming the chargeback, and for it to be forwarded to the bank.

The chargeback was then denied. Apparently, due to an IP match showing the PayPal account holder had in fact made the purchase and their account had not been compromised.

Compared to other payment systems this is a breath of fresh air. ClickBank would have rolled over. Plimus would have issued a refund, dinged you for the chargeback, and then told you a claim had been made.

Since "unauthorized" purchase is considered by many to be "the" way to always get a refund it is the preferred method when the refunder fears his truthful refund request will be rejected.

Thanks for showing us how you overcame the often used "unauthorized" purchase ploy.

Beat me to it. So did I ... several times. It doesn't take long to take those screenshots and submit them and it's a way to fight back against those thieves that pretend it was an unauthorized payment.

Great, thanks for the advice. I can't believe I didn't think of this previously! I've gotten a few chargeback requests using the "unauthorized purchase" claim and haven't been able to beat any of them. Most of them I just refunded immediately. Will put this into good use in the future. Thanks.

Thank you for this information, just like Ben i didn't know of this process. I will definitely look into this before refunding a chargback or unauthorized purchase.
