Back in 2008 i've come with an idea of having advertisements in toilet paper.
Everybody looks at the toilet paper no matter what, so i thought there's millions of eyes looking at blank toilet paper, something could be done about it, i could put advertisements on it and since i would receive from advertisers i could sell the paper more cheaper and attract more buyers. more buyers equals more eyes on the paper equals more money.
I've told my friends about it and they laughed, i laughed too, because i've lots of crazy ideas but today i've found that 2 young brothersare doing it.

you can see it here Westchester Brothers Behind Toilet Paper Advertisements Join The Couch « CBS New York

what you think about this toilet paper advertisement idea?
would you advertise in it?

      just kidding

Back to topic, I think it's a good idea. Most people play with their cellphones while sitting on top of toilet and if there are some interesting ads printed on toilet, they will be tempted to check it with their mobile phones...

You would think most companies wouldn't want their brands associating with toilet business However I love it. If someone called to sell me an ad I'd probably go for it just so I could tell people. I wonder what you say to a customer that comes in with a coupon which you know they acquired whilst on the toilet. Great stuff.

Would corporate behemoths appreciate having their logo smeared in... you know what ;-)

I'm sure a lot of laughs and giggles would result though, which always provides some type of value lol

I wouldn't want people wiping their butt with my ads.

But then again, I can see this being very profitable in some industries.

I for one, take my iPad with me. So maybe you should consider having QR codes put on there. I love all the humorous responses!

You know, if you were to find a CPA offer of Charmin or... well.. I actually can't think of the different brands of toilet paper, I'm not well versed in that area.

I'm not sure if anyone knows of any but a CPA offer of "Which toilet paper is better" would be an awesome ad to stick on a roll of toilet paper.

Or for the people who go to the bathroom to um.. well.. you know. You could place adult advertising on them as well.

To answer your main question though, if an idea is stupid: I think the only stupid idea and business plan is one that never gets put to use.

Seriously, how many people became millionaires off of just stupid inventions that people probably laughed off when they introduced it?

Most councils, shopping centers etc provide rest rooms and feeding rooms.

You could provide free toilet paper to them in exchange for advertising rights. This would include poster as well as the advertising on the toilet paper.

Nothing like an ad for losing weight while you are dropping some weight.

I like the idea of QR codes. This makes it easy for people. As long as they are not clumsy.

Of course if they decide to read all your ads while they are sitting there, they could go through an awful lot of paper.

I like it, but it would have to be for a select audience.

Keep in mind, a good portion of advertising is about "Anchoring" where you try to associate a certain feeling with a brand name...thats why you see pretty girls in beer commercials. It creates a subconscious buy signal later when a consumer is about to make a decision, they remember the feeling associated with the brand.

So the question is, what advertiser wants their product branded in the consumers mind with "Sh**t"?
