    Hi Bob,

Are talking about an opt-in form? A list building page?

I'm not trying to be funny it's just that so many people over the years have started calling pages different things like "squeeze page", "landing page"...

I started out years ago building websites and if you were not going to re-direct someone to an affiliate from your domain and they were going to "land" or stay on your page we called it a "doorway page".

It then evolved to "landing page". Then Reese or one of those guys came up with a "squeeze page" which was placed between the order or page of origin and the destination page, where you were "squeezed" for your email through an opt-in form.

So people started calling an opt-in page a "squeeze page".

    Whew.

    So...that's why I asked.

I can help you with an opt-in if that's what you want.

Here is an example of a typical opt-in http://www.secrets-of-internet-succe...stbuilding.htm that is one of Sean Mize's forms.

You should do a search here at the forum for Mike Hill. He is very knowledgeable about list building and the different types of forms.

I got a bunch of opt-in templates form Mike in one of his products I bought a couple of years ago and they were pretty decent.

As Mathew said, not 100% sure what specifically about "landing pages" you're asking, but you may find this useful, it's a few videos I did in response to someone asking how to create landing pages specifically for Google Adwords ads.

The first couple videos I critique the landing pages of offers as an affiliate deciding what to promote, and in the last 2 videos I create some simple landing pages as examples of landing pages:

How To Optimize Your Landing Pages

(Note: My examples are squeeze/doorway pages)
I hope you find them useful - Tim

      Matthew and Tim,

Thanks so very much for the replies. I want to build a landing page to capture email addresses. These people will be signing up to get updates on my products. I will be placing links to this page throughout my products.

      Thanks again for your help.

Look at opt-in landing pages with this in mind: You convey a message to your visitors that you've got something they desperately want and need. It's more important that they want it than need it but that's a topic for another time.

So what do you have? Chances are it's information. Your goal with a landing page is to present that information in a way that it's so appealing, so exclusive, so necessary to their very survival that they can't get their name and email addy in the sign-up fields fast enough.

I do this with little stories. For example:

Johnny has had problems with ___________. Fill in the blank. It might be baldness, obesity, acne, poor self-esteem, romance, soft organs that are hard, hard organs that are soft, lack of money, poor health... The list goes on and on.

Johnny has stumbled around this lonely planet for most of his life looking for the solution to his problem. Finally, just when Johnny was about to give up, he found my once-in-a-lifetime solution and everything changed for him. Now he has a new car, new home, new wardrobe, lots of money in the bank, and it's rumored he's dating Paris Hilton on the side.

A bit tongue-in-cheek but you get the idea. Anything you put into print is sales. Anything. Each sales piece has a different purpose. If you're writing greeting cards you've made the sale if you've managed to evoke a certain emotion. If you're writing technical manuals you've made the sale if the reader is able to operate the gadget when he finishes reading it.

And when you're writing landing page copy, you've made the sale when you get the subscriber. To keep the subscriber you're going to have to continue making the sale with everything he receives from that point on, but that too is a topic for another time. Good luck!

The 'Landing Page Handbook' from Marketing Sherpa (now in 2nd ed.) contains a lot of researched statistics and various marketing surveys, but it may be a bit of overkill for your purposes at $497.

Anyway, here's the link to their page:

Hi Bob, I think you have all of the material and information you need available to you for free.

You probably don't need to read any more e-book's or manuals.

What you need to do is go find some examples of great sales letters. If you're looking for information on how to make a great sales letter for your product then go to Click Bank and look at the products that are similar to yours that have a high gravity. When you search I believe you can sort by gravity.

Gravity is a measure of how many units have been sold recently and so things with a high gravity will probably have lots of sales which means that sales page actually converts.

Go find several of these sales pages that seem to convert really well and study them.

What words and phrases do they use?
How do they make use of color and font and size?
What kind of headline do they use?
Where do they mention the price of the product?
Do they have testimonials, and if they do how are they displayed? Do they have the person's picture?
Do they have a PS at the bottom?
    Do they mention scarcity?

I could go on and on here but I think you get the idea.

There is a lot of really good copy writers out there and they have samples of their work all over the place. Just go find it.
