Pretty Links WP Cloaker Question PLEASE HELP

Hi Fellow Warriors

A question about pretty links WP Plugin.

What I am trying to do is disguise links for a service I am selling.

I have set up links using the pretty links plugin when I put this in the url bar they immediately redirect to the target url thus revealing the target url.

So for example if my affiliate link is

www.affiliateservice.com/affid

and my pretty link is now

www.mywordpress.com/prettylink

When I put my new pretty type my pretty link in
immediately my target page loads but the url switches to www.affiliateservice.com/affid

Sorry if I have overexplained this put I am not a tecchy

Can someone tell me how to absolutely hide the link please?

BERNARD

All Pretty Link does is cloak the affiliate link so that it appears to be part of your page before the user clicks on it, as well as making it look pretty. The sight of an affiliate link is somewhat off-putting to some people.

But it will always redirect you to the actual affiliate link you've set.

As far as I know, LinkTrackr keeps the link blocked the whole time if you enable the cloaking feature. But you will need to have a separate domain exclusively for your links, otherwise they'll look really ugly.

      Like, yourwebsitename.linktrackr.com/afflink.

I'm not sure what other tracking services have this ability, as I've only used LinkTrackr.

      Hope that help.

Bottom line: You ultimately want them to end up at your affiliate link, and you want to see that yourself to ensure you are getting credit for any sales you make. The only way I have ever seen it done where you can't see the affiliate id is to employ frames and as I understand it that isn't compatible with the tracking cookies. A point I'd make is on programs where you have control of the id (with programs that use your user name in the links) make sure you pick something generic and business like.

As long as you are not seeing something like www.affiliateservice.com/sucks or something too personal like www.affiliateservice.com/TommyJones you are in good shape.
