Getting Confused with PLR & MRR Rights

Hi guys,

I'm kind of confuse with PLR & MRR Rights. Well I understand we can edit content in a PLR product & can't usually do the same in a MRR product.

My question is, While selling PLR or MRR products, Can we restrict our buys from selling it further, I mean, can we sell PLR/MRR products, without transferring the resell rights? OR its obligatory that PLR/MRR products MUST be allowed for Reselling?

Plus, I would highly appreciate if someone can Draw a further clear line between both the products.

And, tell me any good website, that sells LOW PRICED PLR/MRR products?
I'm not a big fan of packaged products, where they sell 100s or even 1000s of PLR products at a single price. I prefer the freedom of choosing a nice high quality PLR product, rather than 1000s of low quality PLR products.

Thanks in advance.

If you create content you are the copyright owner. As the copyright owner you can give others certain rights to do something, or not do something, with your content.

A couple of those rights are the right to make copies and the right to change the content.

With MRR, or Master Resale Rights, you are giving a buyer the right to sell copies of your product to others, and to allow their buyers to sell copies of your product.

That does not allow changes to the product.

PLR, or Private Label Rights, historically has meant you create a product but it is sold under another person's name. Hence, "Private Label" rights. A common example are generic or store brands at the grocery store. This does not involve making changes to the product other than the packaging and label.

However, in recent years, in IM in particular, "PLR" has morphed into an anything goes situation. Some believe if they buy PLR that means they effectively own the copyright and can do anything they want with the content. Legally, that is not correct.

That is why many PLR products come with a list of 'rights' that buyers have. For instance, can the content be changed, can it be sold on Amazon, are there resell rights, etc.

This means there is no one definition of PLR in IM, but you have to look at the license to see what you are buying. As the seller, this also means you can a la carte decide what buyers can, and cannot do, with the PLR they are buying.

      1. Ok. So for example I buy a PLR product, that comes with the following license:
      2. Resale Rights - Yes
      3. Master Resale Rights - Yes
      4. Private Label Rights - Yes
      5. Giveaway Rights - Yes
      6. Offered as a Bonus - Yes
      7. Full Product Copyrights - Yes
      8. Full Graphic Copyrights - No
      9. May Modify Product - Yes
      10. Packaged with Other Products - Yes
      11. Added to Paid Membership Websites - Yes
      12. Added to Free Membership Websites - Yes
      13. May Publish Offline - Yes
      14. May Sell on Auction Websites - Yes
So, in this example, I bought a product with above rights, that means I can sell it further. But am I allowed to just sell it as a simple product, without further transferring any further PLR/MRR or resale right?

Actually, I dont want my buyers to sell further.

      Thanks.

Yes. If you buy a product with MRR you do not also have to sell the resale rights to your buyers. You can just sell them the product.

    PLR, MRR and RR
Even though PLR licenses may differ from product to product, the common trait of a PLR product, is that you have the right to use/sell the product as well as you have the right to edit/change the product.

As far as MRR licenses go, the general trait is that you have the right to sell the product as well as the right to give your customers "the right to sell." In other words, you can pass on MRR to your customers.

If you purchase a product that only has Resell Rights, then you have the right to sell the product, but you don't have the right to pass on "the right to sell the product."

    Selling the product without PLR/MRR/RR
There is nothing stopping you from only selling the product. In other words, your customers only have personal use rights to the product. Think about it: selling just the product means that you're targeting the niche the product is aimed at. Selling the product with PLR/MRR/RR means you're targeting the Internet Marketing niche. The product was created to eventually be sold to the niche the product is aimed at.

If you just want to sell the product, all you have to do is make sure not to include the PLR/MRR/RR license doc in the download file that your customers will receive.

So yes, you can sell the product without transferring PLR/MRR/RR. However, the reverse is not always a given. Not all PLR licenses may allow you to transfer PLR to your customers. In other words, it could be a Personal PLR product.

The same can be said about MRR. Some MRR licenses may only allow you to give your customers Resell Rights and not MRR. Although, the majority of MRR licenses that I have seen, allow you to pass MRR on to your customers.

    Finding Low Priced PLR/MRR products
If you want low priced PLR and MRR products, then try a PLR and Resell Rights membership site like Resell-Rights-Weekly.com for a month. This way, you have access to a variety of PLR/MRR/RR products in a wide range of niches, all for a single monthly fee.

I know you may not want to purchase a bundle of products... but this is a little different. By joining a membership, you have access to the downloads, so you can still choose what you want to download.

The reason why I recommend joining a membership site is that if you plan on buying multiple PLR and MRR products, the cumulative amount is most likely way more than the one month membership fee.

At the moment, Resell Rights Weekly has a $1 trial period for 7 days. So, you can see exactly what there is, plus download as much as you can within the 7 days. New products are added each month, so if you like what you see, you could always try a full month.

A membership is the cheapest way if you plan on buying multiple products. If however, you only want like one or two products, then buying it individually may make more sense.

If you want to buy products individually, then a good place to start is the tradebit marketplace (tradebit.com) since a lot of people use tradebit to resell PLR and MRR products. A single product may be listed multiple times on tradebit and at a range of prices. So, check the listings for the best price.

You can find a range of PLR and MRR products on Tradebit. However, as far as I understand it, the majority of the PLR and MRR products that are listed there, are listed by resellers (i.e. they didn't create those products). They are able to do this, because the PLR or MRR license allows the customer to pass on the rights.

    Buying PLR content
If you are looking for high quality PLR content, where PLR cannot be transferred, or where the amount of sales is limited, then you'd have to buy directly from the PLR content provider. If you're looking for this type of PLR content, then you're going to pay more than you would for the PLR content that you'd find on tradebit.

Why? Well the PLR content that allows PLR to be transferred ends up being sold by multiple people (some of which will sell the PLR content for as low as they can). PLR content where PLR can't be transferred (i.e. Personal PLR content) can only be bought by that specific PLR content provider.

The personal PLR content could be seen as being more useful because less people have access to it... because only the PLR content provider is selling that specific type of PLR content. So, your definition of cheap PLR products will be different depending on what type of PLR content you buy.

For example, you could buy 10 000 PLR Articles from tradebit for $2. If you looked at the PLR license, you'll probably find that the license allows PLR to be transferred.

But, if you were to buy a pack of 5 PLR articles from a PLR content provider, you should expect to pay around $1-$2 per article... so let's say $5 for the pack of 5 PLR articles.

So why would you pay $5 for 5 PLR articles instead of $2 for the 10 000 PLR articles? Well for starters, it's difficult to know whether the 10 000 PLR articles are genuine PLR articles, or who created them. For all you know it could be stolen copyrighted work. If you buy directly from a PLR content provider, you know that the content is genuine and you know what quality to expect.

Another reason is the license. If the license allows customers to pass PLR on to others... eventually someone is going to resell the PLR for as low as possible. The PLR content that has a license that allows you to pass on PLR to others, eventually becomes common.

It makes sense that you'd pay more for PLR content, where there are less people using it. That's why in the example above, someone would be willing to pay $5 for 5 articles.

When buying PLR content/products, don't just look at the price. Look at the price, the quality of the product/content and look at the PLR license.

If you're interested in this type of PLR content (i.e. buying PLR content directly from PLR content providers), here are some places you can try:

    netplr.com
    allstarplr.com
    diyplr.com
    plr-diva.com

The best way to know what you can and cannot do is to actually read the license terms provided along with the product. These terms tend to have slightly different restrictions and meanings depending on the person offering them.

With MMR, you have the right to resell and also to transfer the right to buyers, you have more control.

According to your demand, i think you need to go for MMR product. Because you would get more freedom in MMR than PLR.

Actually, a product with a PLR license can be seen as giving more freedom than a MRR license, since a PLR license allows you to edit and make changes to the product. A product with a MRR license generally doesn't allow you to make changes to the product.

As far as being able to pass on "the right to sell" on to others, that is not restricted to only a MRR license. A PLR license can also allow you to pass on "the right to sell" as well as pass on "private label rights."

The terms that a PLR license or MRR license has, depends on the product creator. So, some PLR licenses may allow you to pass on "the right to sell" as well as pass on "private label rights." Other PLR licenses may not allow you to pass on private label rights."

To put it another way, it's possible to have a product that has a PLR license, that allows you to do everything that a standard MRR license would allow you to do, as well as give you the right to make changes to the product. In other words, a PLR license that's superior to a MRR license.

So, which do you go for, a PLR product or a MRR product? Well, that depends on what you want to do with the product. For example, if you just want something to resell, then a MRR product is sufficient.

Whether you go for a MRR product or a PLR product, make sure to check the terms of the PLR/MRR license... because PLR/MRR licenses can vary greatly from product to product.
