Where do I stand as an article writer

Hi all. I have been writing articles for some time now. I have been working as an article writer for a company that hired me through Odesk. I am eager to know how my level is as an article writer; in short i want to know how good my articles are. Please take a look at three articles I wrote on Hubpages and judge the quality of the articles, how much $$$ each one is worth, etc.

Flaws of Sherlock Holmes
How to Ease Chronic Back Pain
The Crocodile - The Ultimate Survivor

These articles are not for work; these are articles I have written by myself on topics that I am thorough in and topics that are dear to my heart. So I expect it to be very much better than the other articles that I write on unfamiliar topics while trying to cram the set of given keywords.

Your article on Holmes is good , very good. I will say, let the likes of John Scoutts, Alexa Smith, Myob , Annie tell you the worth because they have been in this business for quite a long time and they do have the experience to judge.

    Gatorx,

I didn't check all three articles but I found a subject-verb disagreement on the last paragraph of 'Flaws of Sherlock Holmes.'

Conan Doyle made an excellent job of shaping the character of Holmes in all his short stories and novels, while not excluding those flaws that gives some extra essence to his character which makes the long chronicle of Sherlock Holmes something to look for by readers who are fascinated by his intellectual power and ability.
Overall, the flow and tone of your writing is acceptable. You just need to make sure that things like subject-verb disagreement issues are checked because these are the fundamentals of writing. Your clients may think that if basic things were missed, how much more for the advanced ones, right?

Obviously, you can get that fixed. You might have just overlooked that part.

  • "Fictional writer must make everything practical in their work. In real life no one can be considered perfect, because perfection is like one single combination of numbers in a combination lock, and these combination differs from each persons point of view."

In these two sentences alone there are several errors that made me stop reading.
writer should be writers, and these combination differs, should be these combinations differ.

Yeah. Thanks for pointing these out. I don't know how i missed these silly mistakes.

It's not the English I need to improve on, it's the proof reading; It's so frustrating because I thought I did it for more than 5 times for that article.

Don't kid yourself. Your English definitely needs work - then you wouldn't be making so many obvious mistakes. You should try reading more - this helps you to absorb the natural flow and idioms of the English language.

E.g. "I did it for more than 5 times for that article" is NOT correct or natural English.

I wanted to point that out, too, but I was afraid it might be taken offensively.

Would you rather watch someone die or save him even if he has to go through pains?

I'd give you 6 out of 10. You need to watch your use of idioms, which, in your case, are somewhat jarring. Watch also for singular/plural verb disagreements, among other things too numerous to mention.
