What would you do with Thatdogcollar.com?

Its one of the domains I've got, and I'm sitting here, staring at it, wondering what the hell I want to do with this site.

I am open to suggestions, and if anyone wants to make some offers for me, I'd be open to those too.

I'm literally stumped on this one, and I'm beginning to wonder why I grabbed it, haaha!

    Hi Sean

I just did a keyword search for dog collar and there are a lot of great keywords
for this. For example: designer dog collars, personalized dog collars, dog bark collar,
pink dog collar and heaps more.

You could set up a wordpress blog and write articles and reviews on these different
types of collars. Set up adsense and have amazon products. Drive targeted traffic
to it and see if it profitable. If it is, keep it. If it isn't that profitable or you get
    bored with it, flip it.

That's just my 2c worth on what I would do if it was mine. If you can't be
bothered and want to sell it PM me and we'll talk.

Thats just the thing, I don't know if it will be more profitable to work it, or to flip it.

I'm on the fence with this one.

I am with Lynette, only I suggest taking it a step further.

Go for ridiculously exspensive dog collars that sickeningly rich people put on their purse-dogs (dogs valley girls carry in their purses- yes cruel I know)

    Rhinestone covered collars
    Diamond Covered collars
    Gold Collars

    Basically bling for dogs

    A. These have to be out there somewhere

    B. If someone is selling them online I bet they are exspensive as h***, thus big commissions for you.

    Just my fun idea.

Hmm I dunno, sell cutesy dog collars? Or "fashionable" dog collars. I can picture them now with cutesy colors and designs and bows. Target market would be people who adore their dogs and spend money on them.

I would set it up for ebay affiliate network related only to dog collar items on auction do the same with Amazon producst (Astore).

Vey easy to do. Post a couple of dog collar keyword articles in article directories, place some on your website, and then get the site reviewed on a couple of blogs.

Very low cost, fast turnaround to implement.

Heh, BDSM was actually the first thing that popped into mind when I first saw the domain name.

      *looks around*

Hey, you gotta admit, the name's a bit too suggestive for a pet store.

If I were you, I would "work it" for a little bit, find some high end diamond dog collar affiliate programs (yes, they do exist, and people like Paris Hilton buy like crazy) as well as normal dog collar affiliate programs, which are also plentiful. Shock collars to train obedience, harness collars, regular collars, fancy collars, etc... everything inbetween.

So, in short, setup the site as a "turnkey business", that could be transferred to the buyer... setup the top aff progs (that will be transferred to the new owner), do some SEO & backlinking for the site, setup a few free blogs/squidoo/etc... get some backlink juice going, increase the PR, get a bit of affiliate sales going, and THEN think about flipping, for 100X more than you are thinking about selling your domain for right now.

It shouldn't take more than a few weeks to tremendously increase the value of this domain that you are on the fence about flipping... who knows, you might just change your mind and not want to sell in a few weeks...

I do not know why, but the first thing I thought of when I saw your domain name was Paris Hilton.

I am not even going to try to figure out why.

You can go more "Goth" and offer womens chokers that are branded.

With over 300 domains, I have several that I sit and stare at and wonder why I got them. I normally just let them expire if I feel that the effort of developing a site will not be worth the return.
