Why are some people successful?

Here is my question:

Why are some people on YouTube much more successful than others? For example, one person who is doing exercise videos may have 1000 subscribers but another one with comparable quality and talent may have 500,000. How do you explain this? Luck? Marketing savvy?

It may also be that they have been doing it longer, or maybe they had a following before, that subscribed to their channel.

Maybe they are just way better at what they do, or people might like them better, or their product is better, etc.

There are many intangible factors that you can't pin down.

If a video goes viral, or has been reported in the News, then it can get a lot of views in a short time, choosing the right keywords in the title is also one of the factors.

Luck has nothing to do with this. It's simply doing one's homework:

    1. Good keywords used as video titles
    2. Properly used tags
    3. Proper category
    4. Using fiverr.com to boost the video ranking
    5. Proper presentation

    Not necessarily in that order

One major factor for views is keyword research. To get views you have to use keyword phrases that are actually being searched for on YouTube. You have to treat YT as a search engine of its own and target keyword phrases the users are actually using.

True. There are many factors that need to be considered. We had a client how ordered a report and we wrote a 50-page report regarding the same.

Some people are just winners and others are losers. Some may have got in at the right time where they did not have to bother with learning strategies to get noticed - they just created good quality and it happened.

Makes sense, but the way I look at it, if there is quality, people will find it.

Actually I think it's more than just winners vs losers. Or when people started..

I think you have to look deeper and understand what makes people actually win in the IM game.

I think it comes down to having a process in place.. and then following it.
Whether it's Youtube or any other marketing method, it all comes down to:
    1) Know what you are trying to achieve
    2) Educate yourself on what you need to do to achieve it
    3) Actually execute on the process a few times
    4) Check the results and adjust accordingly
    5) Repeat the process
    6) Scale the process, either by repeating over and over yourself, or outsourcing, managing and monitoring the project

It's not really that much of a mystery why some people succeed..
I would think just about anyone that want to really have an impact would follow something fairly similar to this. The problem is, very few do... most just fall by the wayside and look for some other plugin or some such thing.

Success is predictable if you follow a proven strategy long enough until you succeed after all we live in the same Universe which is governed by Laws.

Mainly because some people provide more value than others, and don't stop until they see the results they want.

I don't think it's luck. First it depends what niche they are in or what kind of videos they do. Vlogs do well on Youtube. I've also noticed that those who have lots of success do it for years and post on a regular basis. Another thing I've noticed is that many of them have multiple channels.

It also helps if a video goes viral. I've seen post where companies have told people I'm subscribed to that they are going to be showing their video on t.v. It's also important that you have your stuff properly optimized with the right tags and descriptions, getting shares, likes and all that stuff, too.
