If you had a budget of $1000 and are a newbie what do you reccommend ?

Hi guys

New to this forum and am looking for some sincere advice. I am thinking that if I took $1000 from my upcoming paychecks and had the money to spend what would you reccommend spending it on?

Do you sink it into articles or do you invest in a software?
Or do you go out and buy a ready made website like in the classifieds here and then pay someone to market it for you ?

Hopefully you can help and understand what I mean by the question ...

If I were you I would invest in content creation.

Content attracts traffic like flower attracts bees.

    Well, what do you want?

Quick cash? Long term online business?

The former is easily done through the countless get rick quick money schemes in which you CAN make some quick easy cash, they're not all scams.

The latter will require a vision articulated by a strategy.

          And ya!
Newbie would potentially lose $1k with less results, and spend while to learn in specific niche you're wanted would be very helpful.

Yeah! I agree if you don't know what to do spend it on a coaching program. But if you do.
Focus on getting traffic through paid mediums (FB PPC, Banners, PPV, Solo Ads, and so on.) to a squeeze page and building your list.
Then build a Relationship with that list and you will have repeat buyers for life.

Depend on what niche you are going after. But still recommend paid Traffic for fast and scale-able results.

    I will:

    1. Visit Amazon and google keyword tool and look for top selling products that costs around $200 to $300 with low keyword competition
    2. Register a domain and hosting
    3. Order review articles
    4. Run an authority site
    5. Sit pretty while earning decent commission after 3 months
    6. hire a VA for 2 months for solid SEO job

Buy a few shares in a solid producing gold mine. Your return will be more predictable, which is good...because you'll need lot more than $1,000 + several months of sweat equity to make a dent online.

Wow thanks guys ... I didnt expect so many replies ...

I havent begun anything yet ... I was thinking originally to start a blog on health and fitness due to the fact that I have a lot of knowledge on it.

I heard somewhere though blogs are not what they used to be earnings wise and that some people feel they are doing more work than the reward seems to be for the work ...

I dont mind shelling out a lot more money as time goes on ... I just would hate to dump money into something and then get that feeling that I wasted it all ...

When you say solid producing gold mine ... do you mean to purchase a ready made site in the classifieds and then go from there ?

I would take $35 or whatever a War Room membership costs these days and join the war room. Then I'd figure out what I wanted to do. What kind of business do you want? People come here with their priorities backwards. They're looking for something to do based on how much it can make them, how easy it is, how fast they can be turning a profit.

These things are all important but you're missing the point putting them first. Regardless of what anyone says or all the hype you've seen or are about to experience, there are no super simple solutions. Marketing stuff online is a business. So what do you want to sell? What do you like? Almost anything can be marketed online. Maybe you're really into raising fighting fish. Maybe you like kites. Maybe you make the best chili or spaghetti in the world. It could be fashion or makeup or photography.

There are people marketing all of those things and thousands more online and getting rich doing it. And the formula for it is simple. Maybe not easy, but simple.

Build a solid site with excellent content, content so good that people will want to come back often and tell their friends about it. Just like a pizza shop in your neighborhood, same principle - happy customers telling others. Once you've impressed them with your excellent content and they've come to know and trust you, then you can start selling them stuff. You're building a list the whole time. Continuous value.

The reason I most often suggest people pick something they like is because it makes it easier to stay with it as you go though the learning process and the growing pains of running a business.

Now, back to the war room membership. Figure out what you might want to do and then go to the war room and download every book and guide you can find and study them all for at least a month before you do anything else. You'll get answers tailored to what you want to do. Coming here and asking a bunch of people what you should do isn't the best way to go because even though the people making the suggestions are sincere, they don't know you or what your skills are. Some of the best info on marketing you'll find is available for free as a war room member. Drink it in. Study. And maybe the light will come on for you. Good luck.

Well, maybe all you need is some coaching? There some nice out there like Tristan Bull for $500 he will coach you to a successfull IM niche business.

I kinda think, invest in your self would be an option as well, like a strategy? And think of the various option and how you want to make money online?

Affiliate? Product Creation? Offline? Consulting? Creating WSO? Creating Minisite? Adsence? CPA? E-commerce?

Then there is issue on how to drive traffic and seo process. Building a list, and getting traffic from facebook/twitter requires different strategy.

So my suggestion, if you dont know what to do? Choose a way, follow a strategy and keep at it until you see some money. Then move on to a different strategy. Once you get a decent income, maybe diversify your business. There is endless of ways to achieve your end, you need to pick one and follow it till the end. Do not stray for the path, by the shiny object or flashly new things that appear, that will only slow you down.

I make that mistake, and many warrior will also will also say the same thing, choose your way and keep at it. Do not be distract by the new product/software.strategy that keep coming out.

      Hope this helps

    I recommend you this:

to buy 1 wso, with tons of good real testimonials so you'll know what to do next. Then invest the money to ease your IM effort like buying softwares, outsource, etc the method that you just learned.

Or I think you can take google sniper, that's easy and simple one. It's updated with the latest google updates too..

If I was just starting out and had $1,000 I would buy a website that is already getting some traffic and some sales and build the site up. But you have so many options as mentioned above it comes down to what direction you feel most comfortable in.

You should be cautious about buying software and ready made sites
because they can break down and are not easy to fix. I think it is
better to set up and maintain your own site. You can even get
started without a site or hosting.

I would say that you should be careful about spending your money. Try free
methods. Only buy if you are sure the product will help you or you can really get
a refund if the product did not deliver what it claimed to do

    How new are you?
Do you know what Internet and Affiliate Marketing is?

If you're totally new I would say find a good guru and purchase their stuff to get a good overview of Internet Marketing.

Alex Jeffreys, Triastan Bull, come to mind.

Then from there decide exactly what you want to do.

Do you know how to design a website? Do you know wordpress?
Have you ever sold anything online before? Do you use social networks like twitter, fb, linkedin, google+? Do you like writing? Do you program?

Is there ANYTHING that you would describe as a strength of yours? Something that comes naturally to you that doesn't to the average person? Any moment in your life where you "got it" and others didn't? Try and pinpoint a natural strength or talent of yours, and work from there. The things you can invest in are endless, but if in harmony with your strengths, you'll be making money and having fun.

I would start with good quality training. While having some money can help you move things along the biggest thing that will determine your level of success is the amount of time you spend working on improving your business and your self.

There are some really good WSO's. I made my first $100 online using Brian Johnson's Halloween Super Affiliate (It only cost $10 bucks). He also as a much larger program called 300 Internet Marketers (I believe it's currently sold out). I also like Mark Lings Affilio Blueprint 3 (a good course for beginners).

I would hold off on spending money until you have a good understanding of exactly what you need.

Instead of buying something right now, search the forum and read the answers to the questions you have. There is good advice right here in the forum that can start you on the right path. Don't spend a lot of money right now, learn what you need to know and study it.

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I was new was buying all the crap and not knowing what I was doing when all I had to do was search this forum to get the answers I needed. I could have saved thousands.

Yes you can outsource but I found by doing all of the work yourself it gives you a lot more respect and knowledge esp for when you start outsourcing etc. Just my two cents but keep your $1000 until you know HOW to invest it properly.

if you have a squeeze page which your trying to build traffic to then a $1000 is a nice amount which will get you a good amount of new subscribers

i would invest in solo ads making sure you have a good sales funnel set up

buy one solo ad at a time and then re invest your profits or return into the next solo ad

doing this you could build a very decent size list

the more money you make back from your solo ads then the further your $1000 will go

i usually pay on average $40 for 100 unique clicks so you could build your list very well with a budget of $1000

some of my solo ad campaigns i break even a few i may lose a little and some i may make a healthy profit but this is all ONLY on the front end part of my sales process. This does not include any sales which i make beyond that so the potential is huge to make your campaigns super profitable

I just spent nearly $1K on my car. If your car squeals every time you start it, start there.

Other than that, there's no cut and dried answer to your question. It really depends on where you are in your business and what type of business you have.

So... where are you in your business? Do you already have a product/service? Do you already have a website?

Letting us know where you are will help us give you more relevant answers.

Don't spend your money without doing your research first. Find out what business models you're interested in then use the search engine to read every thread about that type of business. The all-in-one threads are also good.

Even when an idea sounds great -- it might not be the best plan for you. Build on your own skills and interest.

If you start spending money too quickly you'll invest in the wrong things.

Test paid traffic to see what works.

With so many Google updates more and more people are turning to paid traffic to save themselves trouble waiting for traffic for months and for their site to reach page one - something that may never happen. If you learn how to use paid traffic you can get returns upto or more than 500%, something that most good affiliates are doing now. With paid traffic you can always be on Page One!

I would also spend to get guidance at each stage since working alone and figuring it out may burn more money. Either ask questions in the forum here or join a paid forum like the war room or other specialized forums outside WF.

DO NOT start spending your money until you know WHAT you are spending it on.

It's pointless buying random backlink packages, random Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest/etc followers if you have no idea how to tell if what you are buying is genuine or helpful.

Don't go buying random WSOs on how to make shed loads of cash overnight - you don't have the knowledge yet to implement their techniques or even know if what they are saying is genuine or hyped up ****.

Start with a small investment - buy yourself a hosting package and a domain name. Start a site on something you think might interest you. Start adding content.

Start LEARNING. That's the key. You can't succeed until you know WHAT you are doing, WHY you are doing it and HOW you want to do it.

Keep your money until you have the skills to decide what you want and where and how to invest it.

IM is a learning curve. It's YOU that has to learn - no-one else can do it for you.

There's no point in buying an existing website if you don't know how to keep the traffic coming. It would be money down the drain.

Learning and experimentation are the keys. Apart from hosting and a domain name, they are free.

I would set up a one page website (Squeeze Page) and buy solo ads to drive instant traffic to them and build my list at the time.

You can have a one-time-offer in place at the front end to try and break even or make a profit from your solo ad advertising investment.

This will build your list very quickly and you can promote back-end affiliate offers to make even more profits from your original investments.

Feel free to download the list building report or the rapid cash blueprint reports as they both go into list building in more detail.

All the best my friend and feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Until you know (from doing research for free on this forum) what kind of business you want to start, I'd recommend you put your money away and concentrate on learning and make a plan. Then spend some money to make that plan happen. Anything else will likely result in a loss of the money you're throwing at it.

The best advice on this thread is to save your money, saw several warriors say this and its true, there are a fair few people out there that will help you spend your money on this program or that app or this ebook but in all honesty until you really and truly understand how this business works, figure out how to create a website, upload a file, make a graphic, write an article, you will be at a disadvantage financially, sure you could outsource everything but really there is something about learning a skill and what you learn along the way that will change you.

Once you find out what you want to do, then you can begin to make those important decisions but more than anything else don't spend money thinking your going to make more money, it hardly ever happens that way.

Not spend a cent and make your first dollar without physically spending a dollar, and then slowly ramp up from there. Try and look at this as a longterm game.. not a get rich quick scheme.

I agree with those who say not to buy anything yet. Take a week or more to look over all the hundreds of options. Affiliate, CPC, CPA, niche, list, mobile, PLR, wordpress... let me tell you its easy to get info overload. You have to take your time and really research the options. Find what works best with your own talents, needs and time available. The last thing you want to do is get involved with something and then not have the time to do anything with it. A lot of these programs and methods take time to really learn and master... and you don't want to waste your money. I have products I bought 10 years ago that I still have not done anything with lol. Seriously.. think it through.

I am speaking from experience here. If you are even slightly ADD.. take even more time and don't buy a thing until you have researched every aspect of your chosen method.

Ill give a little background about me so that might help ...

I tried a while back to make a blog and after 3 months shut it down ... i tried backlinking ... using programs like scrapebox ... not much movement in ranks ..

I am really good at writing, graphic design and putting a high quality site together ... i have an strong knowledge of all that ...

I just dont know how to get the traffic in ... or more so to speak ... dont know how to make the money ...

I only tried to make a blog so I havent tried all these squeeze pages or all these ideas ...

This is my second time around doing it ... and I am willing to spend the money ... if it means u need to invest to make some money ...

I have some good knowledge in sports, music, tech, celeb gossip, electronics, computers hardware and software, gadgets, finance, weight loss and healthy dieting.

Those are the topics I could write pages upon pages about ...

So in conclusion I have the work ethic, the ability to do the work and solid knowledge on some topics ...

but lack the ability to come up with something that sells or can get traffic to it ... more so ... lack the ability to make money ...

sad story i know lol ... but i am not going to quit this time ... !

        CJ,

Your background makes it clear you have no idea what business you're in (or want to be in). Building a blog and getting traffic and backlinks is all fine and dandy. But how were you going to make money with that??? Adsense? Affiliate sales? Your own product or service?

Yes, you need to learn to get traffic, but until you know what niche you want to serve and product or service you want to provide, that's putting the cart before the horse.

What niche do you want to serve? What product or service do you want to sell? Don't spend a dollar until you do know. Believe me, $1K isn't much, really. I've spend a LOT more than that on my biz and it goes QUICK.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

        1. Products
        2. Services

        That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

        Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

        1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

        2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

        3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

        Pick just ONE!

        1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

        2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

        3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

        F -- Follow
        O -- One
        C -- Course
        U -- Until
        S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

        Hope this helps!

Great solid post and if I were the OP I would listen to this advice right here. Map out a plan of how you plan to make money from your blog. It could be adsense, clickbank, CPA, etc but you must have a specific plan in place otherwise you will end up wasting time and spending unnecessary money.

Well I would start advertising on Craigslist for web design and outsource it to someone who knows what they are doing. Model your ads after some successful competitors until you start getting a response. Then pay people to post similar ads all over creation. Turn the projects over to your outsourcers and take your profit.

First thing you should do is start a blog, after you start a blog talk to me and I will be able to help you further.

(all you need is domain & hosting)

but anyway don't think at this as a $1000 budget, think about this as money for each and everything you need.,

if you are now on stage one which is an autoresponder hosting & domain than this is THE ONLY THING you should pay for at the moment, don't go throwing your hard-made money on stuff like content creation($1,000 for content, really?!) or "complete turn key websites", just dont.

    good day mate!

    1. Don't buy any IM related products.

    2. Read. Read. Read. Everything is on the internet for free (and I don't mean steal it). Learn by watching what the "big dogs" are doing. Don't listen to what they're pitching, but how they're pitching. The quoted post above is a great example. Notice how after a long, genuinely helpful post, she recommends buying a coaching session (massively over-priced, btw)? Who are you more likely to turn to after that? A random sales letter in the WSO section, or to one of hers?

    3. Put your money in your pocket. Unless you've spent 2-3 months minimum reading and learning basics, you don't need to spend money, as you'll do just as good tossing in the toilet.

    4. Everyone here is trying to sell you something.

I would spend the money on a coaching site, to learn about autoresponders and squeeze pages, then concentrate on traffic.

Im fairly new to this myself, and have very little budget to spend, but ive found some of the solo ads on here are well worth the money, and have helped me build my, still pretty small list, a lot quicker than the other methods mentioned.

But then, like i saw mentioned earlier, it depends on what your business is, what works for me may not work for you.

    Good luck though.

I suggest that you learn as much as you can about PPC - then try to run some campaigns.
