How to search locally on Twitter

In case you don't know how to do it, here's a little blog showing exactly how to search locally and why you'd want to do this:

Being able to search locally on twitter is a very good tool for not only connecting with people, but also finding users that are looking for your goods/services.

I used to use twitterlocal, but now you are unable to search with this tool. As an alternative you can still use the twitter search: Twitter Search by searching for you keyword, and if you want to search for a location simply put this in the search:

keyword near:"los angeles, CA"

Now you can even limit or expand how far you want results for by adding this to the end:

within:10km

So a full search would look like this:

hot dogs near:"los angeles, CA" within:10km

Which would give you all of the tweets with the keyword "hot dogs" in them within 10km of los angeles.

There's a bunch more tricks like this you can do with the twitter search so check it out.

There is also a website Nearby Tweets that you can use, but I'm pretty sure it does the same thing as the twitter search.
