Moderate Experience - Advice for Affiliate Marketing vs. Design/SEO?

Quick Background: I have been dabbling in internet marketing and web design for the last few years as a hobby. I ran a few review-based sites promoting products via affiliate marketing, I made about $30-$60/day and ended up selling it when I lost my full-time job last year. Since then I have made a few websites for people, helped rank sites with basic SEO, and that's about it.

I am looking to get back into this full-time, and basically looking for some advice. From what I have seen on WF and other sites it looks like Affiliate marketing is still doing great, and it seems like list-building is one of the top things you can do this year compared to last.

I am basically torn on going full-time into affiliate marketing, or focusing on web design, seo, and offline marketing. I have extensive experience in both, and have a portfolio to show my accomplishments (rankings, websites, design, etc).

I am devoting 25 hours a week to either affiliate marketing or web design/seo. What do you guys think would be better? I live in Phoenix so there is a lot of competition locally, lots of large firms and freelancers. I could do both, but I feel my focus would be better if I kept it on a single project.

If I do go into affiliate marketing, what seems to work best? I found some products on ClickBank and picked up some domains that match the product name, now I am trying to rank them for the product name. I have OptimizePress but I am still working on a good Squeeze Page since I don't have experience making these.

And what about affiliate marketing like I used to do, promote products and take a commission? For example I used to promote/review hookahs and shisha from Hookah-Shisha.com. Would working with a website be better, or a place like CJ or CB?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can provide. I have a kid on the way in 7 months and my goal is to be working from home by then.

TL;DR: Need help deciding if I should do affiliate marketing or design/seo for a living so I can support my wife and kid.

Offering a service will get you money faster than affiliate marketing, unless you have a responsive list of buyers.

You will and can be working from home, as soon as you land your first client.
