One great way to do this is by promoting your social media profiles. Getting more twitter followers, Google + votes, & Facebook likes. Doing this can give you more traffic.

I have had great success by going to fiverr and getting this. You have to make sure that you are getting "real" followers, +'s, & so on.

Agreed with all the good advice above. Also, make sure you have good quality content, otherwise the people who DO go to your blog will just leave and never come back.

Here is my free traffic routine.

1. Create a blog post (every day) that targets a keyword phrase related to my niche
2. Syndicate to onlywire, blogengage, and other similar sites
3. When applicable I will turn blog post into a pdf or video and post to content sharing or video sharing sites.
4. Post blog to 10-15 Facebook groups related to my niche in addition to my own.
5. Create 1- 2 Free Reports (15-20 pages) a month and promote on blog and Facebook Ads.
6. Try to submit 5 guest blog posts/month to other high traffic sites (~ one a week)
7. I will make sure blog posts are being submitted to Twitter
8. Every once in a while I will post to ning sites (used to do this alot)

If you have a little bit of a budget solo ads (just started doing this) and was able to get a lot of leads but the verdict is still out on this.

The key is consistency and full out action every day until you can get some momentum around your brand/blog/business. It takes time...period and you want to always make sure you are providing value.

Unless you can buy your traffic. So figure out what you want to leverage - your time or your money to get you the results you want in the amount if time you want.

One of the things I wish I had done from the very beginning was map out a keyword and SEO content plan so I was targeting keywords I could actually rank for. Anything in online marketing, internet marketing, blogging, making money online is tough - alot of competition.

My secret funda for traffic is social networking. Facebook and Twitter are rocking for me to get visitors. Now a days Pinterest is also should be considered.

I can give you some tips, even if you can find many help arround this forum.
1-do some SEO+= choose good keywords+write good articles related to your keywords+ submit them to article websites(that will help to create some baclinks)

2- create FB page and link to your site
3-create twitter and link to your site
4-create Ytbe video related to your keyword and link to your site
5-submit articles or Pictures to SM{socialmedia:pinterset, intagram,etc...)

Use fiverr.com to get more twitter followers, facebook likes, articles written and spun , all tasks for $5 and add signature to your posts which includes your websites, go to yahoo answers and answer questions this will get you visitors

One important thing that I have learnt is to not just write a random article on what I might think is interesting and hope it receives a lot of traffic. The best way is to write what is 'hot' at the time - to find this I usually Google my keyword +forum and look in forums what is being talked about the most and then do a blog around that.

SEO is a must, i'd recommend Wordpress SEO by Yoast as a plugin to help you with that. I've tried the others and keep coming back to this one.
Social Media is also key, but its so much more than just submitting your posts, its about building your following, commenting on other posts, building your reputation.
Its none stop and you constantly have to work on it.
I went from 25 followers on Twitter to over 1000 in just a couple of weeks, all targetted by either keyword or by someone they follow who is considered a LEAD figure in my Niche. It works. but you have to work at it contstantly.

Some great tips on here, thanks. Thinking of using Fiverr for likes on facebook, but will they not just unlike after a bit? / will this help get any genuine Likes?

I post my blog posts in relevant Facebook groups and that tends to get me a good amount of traffic coming to my blog.
It's also a lot easier to rank videos on youtube than on a new blog, so you could do do videos and put a link to your blog in the resource box. That's also a great way to get traffic to your blog.

I post a lot of articles everyday to get maximum content to pull in the most amount of traffic I can from various searches within my niche. If you are just starting out maybe use plr content spin it and post it for a while until your blog gets attention and steady traffic. This will give you a good little boost.

I have an idea for you. Promote on fiverr your gigs. Also, promote them on your blog and web pages. Then link to them from a site using word press. Do not promote in word press. Otherwise your blog gets taken away. Simple add a link to your site from one of your posts in word press. Make most of your posts on word press valuable content over 90% and slip in a few plugs for your own fiverr gigs. Be careful not to make it too commercial or your viewers go away. All the best to you.

You can try commenting on others' blogs to get traffic to your blog, also keep blogging every day so people would return back daily to check out your posts.

The most importnant thing is to set up a daliy routine of your ways to market that get the best resonse and do it in unlimited volumes. Be patient and persistent and it will come. Currently articles, classfied ads and social media are probably the easiest, less exspensive, and funest ways to market.

Other cool tip is that you can download for free program called feedreader. This program allows you to be the first to comment on any blog post. Just download this program, add blog rss feeds to it and program will notice you every time new blog post is published, so you can be the first person to post comment.

I think you should use social media sites like facebook , google+ etc . To increase the traffic on your blog , you should promote your sites to these social media. You can also try to make popular the blog in your friends and circles also.

No blog is an island! Make sure you network with other blogs in your category. Blog about them. Link to them. They will do the same for you and send traffic your way. Do guest blog posts to raise your profile in the community.

One great way that I like is to build an FB page (takes all of 5 minutes). Encourage your blog readers to "like" it. Then each time you create a post, add it to the FB page and when people "like" it or "share" it, you'll get more "likes" from FB and those people will in turn go to your blog.

Don't always create promotional content on the blog. Create value that people will want to share and comment on.

Also, create images with perhaps some inspirational quotes and add those to your FB page. Perhaps, if the image is related to a recent post, also link to the post with a short intro (after uploading the image). People share photos more than just links usually.

Persevere and stay consistent. If you are providing value people will come. Just "market" a little (in ethical ways) to encourage it.
