Do your "Article to Video" videos actually bring you traffic?

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I've never been able to get traction from these type of videos. If you've gotten traffic with this method, I'd appreciate some tips.

Don't give it all away in the video. Give them a reason to load the url at the bottom of the video or click on the annotation.

You need to optimise the video properly, including your keyword in the title, description, and video name. Also some backlinking is usually needed - pinging and social bookmarks at the least.

The article also has to be good quality to start with - if you just use poor quality PLR, most people won't stick around to the end of the video, or click your link.

It's not about the article to video rather it's about if the keyword actually generate queries and how you have your video and description setup.

Let's face it, guys, these sorts of the videos really stink. Would you watch one? No, and nor would anyone else!

I even get bored with the videos that are really photos strung together with a backing track.

If you are going to get involved in video marketing you will get better result from proper videos.

Funny I never thought these videos work either.

When I first heard of articles to video - I thought someone was actually reading the article , and then shooting a video that recaps the article, and then adds their point of view to the article. Sort of like a curation method.

I had no idea that people were actually making a video of the actual written article.

Maybe it works for some, but for me it's a waste of time.

I happened to see one of these videos, and I couldn't hit the back button fast enough

Videos, are meant to express an idea visually IMO.

Nothing against a good article but if I would like to read one, I can download a pdf, read a blog, or go to an article directory.

I would like to see what others say on this thread. I really would like to get an idea to see if this traffic method is really working for people.

Any form of marketing can sit on the shelf and collect dust...even a YouTube channel.

I would think article to video would be the worst video marketing strategy there is, but just like "old school" Google Adsense strategy, where boring content leads to more ad clicks, boring article video could have similar effect.

Just speculation on my part; I have not tried it and likely never will.

The automated systems may not be the best. On the other hand, it doesn't take much time to read/record an article, then add a slideshow to it.

Lets be honest, don't even attempt to do "Article to Video" marketing if you can't even keep your viewer sit in front of your video at least 1 minutes.
Based on my experience, keywords is not a priority, and you need to put a very good videos that worth sharing it. Remember to use social bookmark too.

I'd say- not worth it anymore. Maybe when video marketing first started- but not now.

To make a 2-3 minute video of yourself narrating through a video is easy. And if you just use a webcam instead of PPT slides, you can do it even faster.

Real viewers aren't likely to click on anything if you're simply "reading" an article, regardless of what you "dont give away" in the video.

This would be a complete waste of time. Why would you optimize garbage? I couldn't imagine spending time or money optimizing a crappy article video.

No it's not. A shitty video is always a shitty video regardless.

      That's because they do.

I think you've got it backwards. Instead of simply "reading an article" into video - which sucks, try shooting a natural video that offers kick ass content - then TRANSCRIBE the video to text.

This way, you've got two content mediums - text and video.

You get the benefits of SEO (text) and the engagement of your viewers (VIDEO)

I know about the Article Video Robot, but I decided not to use it after tinkering with the trial version. It's just like watching TV with nothing but words coming across the screen. Boring...

The types of videos that such software makes are basically words on screen with elevator music (or even worse - computer generated voice). These terrible productions have very little value to the viewer - if in fact the viewer can even tolerate the absurdity of watching it in the first place.

These types of videos have been flagged and removed in the past by Youtube as well, especially when done with a marketing angle intended. Save your time, save your channel and avoid such software altogether. You will never win over any real buyers with such productions.

Article-to-video productions though, can in fact be a valuable marketing tool for you though - if done right. They just need to be created by YOU, using professional software.

You can really streamline the production of such videos using Camtasia/PowerPoint or ScreenFlow/Keynote into a system where you can turn one of your articles into a video that sounds great, looks professional and consistent, and is well branded to your blog and social media properties. And do it all within an hour or so. That is well worth the time spent and if you can do 2 or 3 a week, you can OWN a niche on Youtube with a production strategy like that.

Here is a sample of a REAL article to video production that is part of my video production course. This article was basically taken from old PLR that was on my computer for who-knows-how-long:

If you are "Kevin" or you have some other material connection with the sales page you linked, now would be a good time to say so.

Otherwise, the post is very likely to to be removed as promotional. You're PS and ringing endorsement make this sound like an ad, which is not allowed, affiliate link or not...

@marty s - that's a brilliant example of what article-to-video should be! I watched it all the way through and have no interest in dogs or kennels, but it completely engaged me, and i came out the other end informed as well. Excellent!

  • Aren´t we all on the wrong track trying to sell products on YouTube? As I understand it YouTube is like television and people do not watch television to see commercials. Even if they are looking good.

why not make videos like this. Just screencapturing a few seconds from the news.

This video is only 9 seconds long and had 1.834.596 views. no music or text required:

Another one. Only 6 seconds and 1.078.467 views:

If joining YouTube´s advertising programm these videos probably make more money than an affiliate video with only a few hundred or thousand views.

The best way to get traffic thought YouTube is to give good content.
People go on YouTube either entertain themselves or learn something.

I don't think that article video really works.

You can see a lot of channels with 1000's of article videos and only few hundreds views.

Where is the point of doing that?

Give good value to your viewers (something that they want to see) and you would be reward.

Of course there is a lot more factors that will help you to generate 1000's of views and ranking through YouTube.

But, you should really consider to study your niche and engage them.

That's what will make them click to your link.

      NO

Try to steer clear of salesmen & women when you are doing your marketing. Think more along the lines of what would I do, or what do I do. Then you will have a better idea on what would work best.

Would you dart over to youtube to see a vid with music and just text?
How often do you click a facebook ad?
How often do you click a forum signature?
How often do you click a link in a blog? and what motivates you to do so?

Ask yourself questions like the above and you will save a lot of wasted energy.

I literally resent software made article to video's video. I just couldn't stand watching. I doubt anyone can. Some are especially long 4 minutes or so. No one will waste their 4 minutes watching a piece of crap.

yes services like article video robot make things easy by converting article to videos pretty quickly and they do a good job. I have not tested it exclusively but what you can do is test response with a seperate squeeze page where you track the visitors and leads and the response you get by posting 100 such videos. What I have realized that even if you have one article it takes around 20 mins to convert it into a good video using these services and then uploading to youtube.

I think a better option for me is to just shoot myself in front of the web cam for 5 mins, give one solid tip and at the end just drag my viewers to my squeeze page. And with youtube annotations & description you can put up a cool ad of your squeeze page right within your video. I am testing this right now with 100 videos and see how it works...
