Do aged domains get the edge when selling on Flippa?

I would like to start building niche sites with content and backlinks to sell on Flippa.

Would my listing fetch a higher selling price if I use an aged domain purchased off Godaddy auctions? I was wondering since many of the domains there were registered for a few years but are just parked domains with no content.

I personally would rather an aged domain over a new one. How long you plan on building up these sites? If you let them age 6 months to a year then it doesn't matter.

Yes, I would go for an aged domain, but you really need to research the domain's history before you purchase it. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's good.

I was thinking by using an aged domain I would be able to build sites faster and flip them sooner.

A good strategy is to buy aged domain with pagerank and relevant backlinks... save time doing the offsite SEO and just focus on content.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

Thanks for the advice. So I take it a 6 year old domain with relevant keywords isn't really that valuable if it has no PR or backlinks? I'm wondering since they are pretty cheap at auction like $5-$10

If it is over a year or two old, I think it would be worth the additional investment. You will get your money back at the least.

So if I see a 2 year old domain/NO PR with relevant keywords selling for cheap I should go ahead and buy? I'm not expecting miracles but just would like to know if it would help when selling on flippa assuming the site has proper content and some backlinks.

Yes it will help a little. People see older sites as "stable" so they are less afraid that the site will lose rankings.

It would help you to potentially get slightly more money but not much. What REALLY matters when selling sites on Flippa is how much traffic your site is receiving and much money your site is generating. That's what you should focus all of your attention on.
