My Amazon Site - Advice Please

Hi

I have just launched an Amazon site in the digital camera niche. Its a bit of an experiment really, but I would like some input on promoting it.

I just tried the classic Adwords route - and although it am not really an expert at Adwords i didnt expect the campaign to get suspended! Basically its against the policy to advertise to "bridge sites" (site that then forward to another) so there goes my Amazon site.

Next up I guess is going to be facebook ads, does anyone know if this is within their policies?

I am also going to try the old favourites like blog commenting, facebook groups etc.... but - my plan was a little passive number. I dont mind advertising if the ROI is worth it.

Thoughts and opinions appreciated? Thanks.....

Go ahead and try 7search.com. They are a lot more lenient than the other networks. Be careful, though, as you can burn a hole in your wallet with PPC ads. Testing and optimization are key!

Article directories are a good source of traffic and so are social media. Write articles and submit them to Ezinearticles and Goarticles.Post on Facebook and send out tweets about your site and traffic will pick up.

Adwords is very strict with their rules and so is Facebook. They also hate affiliates so you should stay away from them at least in the beginning.

Use second tier networks such as Looksmart or 7search to name a couple and you will be able to get your campaigns through without any issue. A word of caution though is that you need to know how they work first or else you could lose money because the quality of traffic may not be the same as Google Adwords.

Set up your campaigns with $5 or $10 and test keywords. Weed out the ones that don't work well for you and keep adding new ones. Once you have tweaked and optimized your campaigns you will see a good conversion for your campaigns.

Ask questions where you need help.

If you try to use Adwords for a site that has any affilitate links Google will suspend your Adwords account. They did this a few years ago without telling me of course. I was a comletely green newbie at the time.

    Folks....

Google AdWords does not hate affiliates and they will not ban you for promoting an affiliate site. You just have a high quality standard to reach. To be honest, most affiliate marketers on this forum have no idea what quality is.
