Specific of developing classified ads/listings website

I am starting to run specialised real estate listings website. Questions:


1. When people place ads naturally, slowly, visitors find little listings and are not satisfied. So the development process will last for ages, as we see many new listings sites that die after born. Idea is to participate in syndication schemes, when listings of other sites are republished. Looks like affiliate. Google or maybe visitors may think it not so quality, as natural way. Probably. So the question which way is better?


2. Running listings website the problem is with "duplicate" content, as people place their descriptions to many sites. When thousands of "duplicate" listings are coming, then is difficult to overweight with own unique content. How it looks in google eyes?

    One of the main ingredients to building and maintaining a web site that ranks well for search engines is avoiding duplicate content issues. Duplicate content from plagiarism or duplicate articles,ads..etc can be a real problem and it can ruin a website reputation.

    Google’s explanation of duplicate content is: “In some cases, content is deliberately duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or win more traffic. Deceptive practices like this can result in a poor user experience, when a visitor sees substantially the same content repeated within a set of search results.”

    “Google tries hard to index and show pages with distinct information. In the rare cases in which Google perceives that duplicate content may be shown with intent to manipulate our rankings and deceive our users, we’ll also make appropriate adjustments in the indexing and ranking of the sites involved. As a result, the ranking of the site may suffer, or the site might be removed entirely from the Google index, in which case it will no longer appear in search results.”

    All you can do is to remove duplicate ads every time they are submitted ..spamming of classified ads for seo is so common..I own article directory website (Spanish) I know what I am talking about ..so don't worry about that ..
