How do I get traffic to a blog

Hi guys,

If you have read any of my threads you will know I am very new to Affiliate Marketing. I am happy to say that I have made my first sale. I have decided to expand my promoting to a blog and I was hoping that you guys could give me some ideas as to how I can send traffic to my blog?

My blog will be an image gallery with descriptive 150 word text below each image. I want to add a youtube video with a montage. Due to the visual nature of the product that I am promoting I was wondering how I can bring traffic to the blog specifically?

I have a site and would love to pre-sell on the blog and then send the potential customers to my site's landing page which actually redirects to my hoplink. I am thinking of changing that to pre-sell on the site landing page as well but that is still in process. I don't think articles and forums would suffice as the product and market are very visual/image oriented. I am planning a youtube video, actually a few, but will not be complete for at least a week.

What other avenues can I choose to follow to drive traffic to the blog?

Thanks again, you guys are all great!

Owen

    There are many ways, actually.

The first and most obvious is to start a relationship with other related blogs. Comment on them. Don't spam your link but participate and engage the blog owners. Get their trust. Then talk about guest blogging and inter blog alliances.

What about video marketing? There are several different blueprints out there
that give you step by step instructions on ranking a video that can direct people
back to your blog...videos are easier these days to rank on the first pages of
    goog than blogs or articles.

    Hope this helps,
    Patti

SEO your page and build backlinks to it to get it to rank in google for organic traffic.

Bookmark your site on the top bookmarking sites will get you some traffic.

Post quality blog comments in popular niche related communited can get you a lot of traffic.

Create a video about something interested and related and put it on youtube, bookmark it and post blog comments to it. Driving traffic to your video will get your video ranked, and if you put a link in the description, you can use it to drive traffic to your blog.

        4) SEO, getting ranked for your keyword on Google
        5) List building.
        6) PPC if you have enough money or maybe PPV

Publish content that is in demand
    and is not competitive

Work on getting people coming to
your site for something they need

It sounds like you just want to make
    money

You will not get traffic with those
    intentions

If your buying traffic that's the right
    mindset

But it seems your looking for time
and effort ways to get traffic

Because if you pay for traffic , you
will be able to get more than you

As people suggested, Pinterest is a great source of traffic, if you use it responsibly you will get a decent amount of daily visitors to your site.

Video marketing works like a charm too, youtube is a huge amount of traffic.

And finally I would suggest you to try to improve your keywords ranking in Google, organic traffic is in my opinion by far the best quality traffic you can get.

    Good luck!

Well at starting you need some mixed strategy to make your blog worth visiting. Means you can never rank with any big keyword using a domain new in age, social media in itself requires an effort to make your blog post viral on their platform, forums are good but if you obey the rules and has something to offer to people.
Email Marketing is the way to hit direct in the inbox, success rate depends on how you configured your email marketing campaign, and how targeted your list is as most of the people say money is in the list. If you don't have Opt in you can yet send by hiring someone to build a targeted list for you and can send emails to these customers. I have referred several people for email marketing and believe me they are just doing email marketing now.

Since you have a very image based site I would highly recommend you promote your images on Pinterest.

If you don't know what Pinterest is, it's the hottest new social media site that is growing faster than Facebook and can drive a ton of traffic due to the viral nature of the site. It's a image based site, so it's perfect for driving traffic to your blog.

You will need to get an invitation which you can ask for on the site. Or if you don't want to wait you can pm me for an invite. Then just interact a lot build up your following and pin your images on the site.

Back-Linking is the best method to bring traffic to your blog after the recent Penguin update earlier last year. The more back-links, the more traffic driven to your site! More traffic = More $$$

Here's a list of Back-Linking strategies that I use personally:

    1. Content Syndication
    2. Blog Commenting
    3. Sponsoring WordPress Themes
    4. Article Directories
    5. SEO
    6. Video Marketing
    7. Forum Marketing
    8. Web 2.0
    9. Ego-Bait
    10. Interviews
    11. Social Networking
    12. Fiverr Gigs
    13. Google PPC

I've written a massive guide on Back-Linking, you might want to check it out for a more in-depth explanation on the topic.

I hope this helped. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions

If i was you I would try to create many different "Streams" of traffic, even if they are small they will add up. This could include:

    >Commenting other people's blogs with a link to your own
    >Making youtube videos about your topic with links to your blog and maybe a title screen with your blog's address
    > If you are using wordpress, try searching for "Wordpress Ping list 2012", is basically notifies other sites about when you make a post and might help people find you.
    >Writing aritcles about topics that people will be looking for information on (over time, when they search for it, your links will come up in the search results.)

    Good luck with it

Have you tried joining a blog directory like blogcatalog.com and submitting your RSS feeds? In fact, the greatest source of traffic for your blog is your CONTENT. Its ability to engage the reader in a conversation. Its ability to encourage the reader to pass the information along to their sphere of influence. The problem is that too many bloggers expect instant results when they don't put in the time.

Another thing you can do for PRESALE MARKETING on your blog is to offer INFOGRAPHICS. Infographics are well worth the money specially if you want to HIGHLIGHT A NEED. Keep hammering away with infographic updates because they are often shared on social networks AND they lead people to your site. Pictures are worth a 1000 words.

git your arse into writing or having someone write a good press release. That worked for us...and last one got 50k uniques to our site in a matter of days, very very uber cool.
