Hey, I informed myself about a job called "online media buyer". It's quite easy to handle and I already know a lot about marketing in the internet. The main function is to buy banner on social networks or place for advertisments on other platforms.
What do think? How much money does an online media buyer approximately get? DO you think I should propose myself?

Your Shiga.

I may be wrong, but I think the days of this being a viable position may be gone. If I understand you right, you are basically wanting to be a link and banner ad broker. There may still be a market for brokering banner ad space, but brokering text links is dead (or at least should be!). Google hates paid text links and has put a major emphasis on penalizing those that sell them AND buy them.

I don't think that these days are over.
For example, look at this job:
Freie Stelle: International Online Media Buyer (m/w) bei Headmatch
(it's in German but I think there exists also an English version)

It sounds as if those people are still needed in the advertisement world.
But anyways...concentrated on this job proposal (they want me to say how much I imagine to earn a month!)...what does an online media buyer approximately earn?

What would you actually be doing? Just managing all the companies advertising accounts while looking for new places to advertise?

Or would you be creating those advertisements while doing all the managing as well?

I think difference between the two would be a huge difference in pay scale. If you really are a good marketer and you are creating their advertisements you should be paid a base salary with benefits based on how good your advertisements are doing.

But if your just managing their ads and just buying up spots to advertise and slapping on pre-created ads your pay would basically be just like any other person in the company who sits around and works on the computer all day.

As I understood the job I would be the one who is just managing all the companies advertisings without creating them, even though I could do that, too.

So that means I'm going to earn less? And how much is ok?

who knows. you haven't given us any details. Where are you from?

If I had to guess on how much you would be making I'm guessing a couple of dollars above minimum wage. What you will be doing doesn't sound very hard or very special. You're just managing advertising campaigns.

I'm from Russia but I live since 10 years in Freiburg, Germany.

And yes TheSalesBooster, I know what you mean. That's what is confusing me. The job sounds too easy.

A media buyer is a very valued position - it's not just about managing, it's about going out and buying media from a whole range of networks and publishers.

Sound easy - don't forget you need to get a ROI overall from your budget. Not quite so easy now!

A good media buyer is quite literally worth their weight in gold!

I would say not much. Banner ads are far from dead (I still use them) but I heard most social media banners do not convert well.
