My ugly looking dummy site is on 1st page of Big G.

How is this possible? My site is on the first page of google for the exact match keyword search. I have not done any promotion at all to my site. No seo work at all. Even the content is not original as I'm using crappy godaddy quick content service. I was just checking to see if there was any advertiser for that particular term with exact match. There are lots of advertisers for that term and my dummy site ranks 9th on the first page of google for the exact match keyword.

The domain is almost 3 years old and it is an EMD.

Does it mean that EMD still works. What do you warrior to have to say about this?

    Probably just from being a 3 year old EMD, that could be enough to get you on page 1 depending on the keyword. EMD's still work you just have to be careful not to over optimize the site.

    Are you logged in to Google while searching? They tend to cater the result set to you when they know it's you. I'd be curious to know if you get the same results when go through a proxy page?

      I just checked with another browser and the search was done without logging in the google account. It still shows on the first page even higher to fourth place. It really is shocking. God knows what happened here. Good thing is it's ranking bad thing is it has not been monetized.

    I have a few sites that I have just submitted (all be it with good tags) and they have done well, to keep them up I do a few good links every so often. Nice result buddy.
