Are there any Clickbank vendors NOT making money?

Sure it costs $49.95 to submit your product to Clickbank, but with thousands of affiliates to promote your product, is there any vendor who hasn't made money with CB?

Obviously those with ridiculous products, or those with extremely high prices won't make money, I'm referring to the ones that have a decent sales pitch, and a decent price.

For example, if someone was to release "a step by step guide on setting up your own internet marketing business for newbies", create a decent sales page, and sell the product for $100 on CB, with 50% commissions, how can they not expect to earn money? The market for this would be huge!!

Or am I missing something?

It all depends on reaching the right prospect. Some have awesome products but are promoting it to the wrong crowd. Some are selling $97 courses and selling it to people accustomed to paying $7 for a product.

Maybe yes. We can't find out unless someone admits he is not making money...

Given the vast number of products available to promote I would say yes, many are not making any money at all...and some are making much more than you think. It's difficult to tell to be honest.

Yeah, I'd say you're missing a thing or two, lol. It just doesn't work like that in the real world. I'd be willing to bet that 75% of CB products have never had more than 5 affiliate generated sales.

Its all about how you reach out to your potential buyers. You are not going to make a lot of money without good no. of Affiliates. You can sure with your efforts only but that would only be limited.

You can just find forums where you can promote your products. Let me give you an example, such for a gaming forum, go and find a guy with like thousands of posts, he may don't even know about affiliate marketing. Pay him 50$ a month to put your link in his signature, you may get many sales just be doing that. I tried that and it worked for me in the past.

You just need to contact people with blogs and sites on your niche and talk to them, provide them a nice commission. You can pick up affiliates for life that way if you product is good and you can make friends.

The IM niche on clickbank is ridiculously saturated. Going into that market on there is swimming against the tide. Unless your copy is outstanding and you have either great affiliates or your own massive buyer list, it's a [mostly] losing proposition.

There are exceptions to the rule, but IMO the best way to get started running products on clickbank is to build products outside of the IM niche. Much easier, far less chargebacks/refunds, less super skilled competition...I like the path of least resistance

I currently have no CB products in the internet marketing niche. I do have accounts centered around other markets, though, and can tell you that one of my accounts makes VERY little sales. I haven't promoted it at all and the sales statistics reflect that perfectly. All my other accounts get more traffic and make more sales though, which increases the chances of affiliates finding it and bringing in even more revenue.

Absolutely. There are hundreds of vendors
    not making money.

    Thousands, even.

In fact, I'd go as far as suggesting that the
vast majority of them don't make regular
    money.

    Why?

Same as with everything else in life. The
majority will do things half-assed and badly,
or simple not know what they're doing. It's
    the Pareto principle.

Most of the money made on Clickbank will
be made by a minority of the vendors.

If you want to find out for sure, use one
of those sites like CB-analytics.com. There
are dozens of new products appearing
every week, and they all show up in the CB
marketplace for 30 days, by default.

But they only remain in the marketplace after
that point if they've made a sale. They need
to make at least one sale per 30 days to
stay there... so if they disappear, they aren't
    making any sales.

The ones you stop seeing after that 30 day
period are the ones that aren't making money.

    Hope that helps.

Note that the rules have now changed.

The time period is 12 weeks and the vendor has the option to avoid delisting by responding to a notification email.

    You are missing a LOT.

The amount of people making decent money on Clickbank would be TINY when compared to the total people trying to sell their products on Clickbank.

    Yes, TINY.

If only it were that simple. It it like, you can make best burger in the world, but still most people go to McDonalds. Its all about how you market it. You can't expect affiliates to promote your products just by listing it. Yep, you may get 1 or 2. Instead you need to contact them personally. Get them to believe that your product is good and is a fit for their list (if they have one). Do networking with similar niche guys, build relationships, help them they will help you and this the best way to do business as far as I know.

I'm not making much. I'm one of the many, many vendors with a gravity of around 3-4. My product is good, but 99% of you guys are only promoting weightloss/IM/growing taller products.

I also find that 99% of affiliates are lazy. They just stick vaguely related products in their navigation bar. They never ask for trial products. They never ask for better banner ads. No wonder they only sell 1-2 CB products a month!

It is true that there is a lot of interest in some niches and therefore a lot of products and a lot of competition.

Will you tell us what niche your product is in?

As David said, there are hundreds(even thousands) of vendors who don't make any money.Even in the most lucrative niches, products listed after the first 4-5 pages have very little or no gravities.

Affiliates tend to flock to products appearing in first 2-3 pages. The structure of CB favors big players. If you are new, cannot get affiliates yourself and don't have a high converting sales page, there are high chances that you'll not make any significant money with CB.

I as an affiliate, will only promote product that have good gravity. For new product, the owner need to know how to increase the gravity, so that it will catch attention. If not, I am pretty sure, that owner will not make any money.

In any field, majority will fail, only a few will success. Its normal.

This question suggests you don't have a clear understanding of what CB gravity is.

It refers to the number of unique affiliates that have made a sale over the past 30 days.

So basically to answer your question... you need to get more affilaites to make a sale.

This is not a wise way of choosing your clickbank product.

      Which would you really promote:

      A) A product where 100 affiliates have sold 1 copy each

      B) A product where 20 affiliates have sold 1,000 copies each

I know which one I would go for. Gravity is no indication of how well a product will sell.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for sharing their wisdom. It's refreshing to hear that once you create a product, the journey doesn't stop there. You have to now go out and put the work in to promote it yourself. You can't rely on the 20-30 overnight affiliates who set up low grade review sites...you have to find those super affiliates willing to put in the work and get your total gravity into the thousands.

3 things based on what you wrote:

    KEY: ATTENTION

First, you need to get attention of the click bank affilaites, they just don't come running because you have an offer up.

    KEY: CONVERSION

Second, decent sales page won't cut it either... it needs to convert. So having a converting sales page is another key.

    KEY: PROOF

Third, stats prove that they will make money, so they will be more likely to promote.

    EXAMPLE:

If someone see's stats like these:

    Initial $/sale: $0 | Avg %/sale: 0% | Avg Rebill Total: $0 | Avg %/rebill: 0% | Grav: 0

    Then your screwed.

People that are just throwing a product in a competitive niche on clickbank, even if it's good, will not make money. You have to do a solid promotion. There are just so much products for one "theme", random affiliates tend to promote the products with high gravity already.
