How to get first clients?

Hey guys,

We've started web design company that focuses on providing complete online solutions to small businesess.

We have the best offer, practicly give away modern professional web design for FREE and only charge monthly maintenance.

What I did so far is gone through craigslist, gumtree and other clasifieds / yellowpages. Contact people, but didn't get any good response.

Anyone have any idea or experience in this field? Or would be interested in JV.

Let me know.
Thanks

Search for footprints of people still using old or free websites, explain to them you can revamp thier site at no cost but for a monthly fee.. I might have an old guide lying around here someone, let me see if I can find it.

Here we go: Attend Local business networking: BNI, Local chamber of commerce meetings, other networking meetings. If you've not already done so, create an opt-in form on your main site, with a free giveaway, e.g. how to get more leads for local business or similar. Drive traffic using SEO, Google Places, PPC. Offer a free consultation.. Go onto Google, search for local + business, look at the Adwords PPC ads, go to the businesses website. Since they are "digital" give them a call and explain to them how you can revamp thier site and increase the # of sales..

My hubby has been successful in sales for years. (telecommunications) AND he says the best way to drum up business is by cold-calling. It may be out of your comfort zone, but pounding the pavement in a situation like this seems to be a great idea!

      Hope this helps,
      Patti

This sounds obvious but go where people are LOOKING for websites.

Services section here, offline - local businesses etc..., pick up the phone and ring them.

    What can you offer?

    Why is your offer better?

    Have you any samples?

Can you beat people on price?

Actively get out there and search for people looking for websites.

Advertise in computer mags, check the local paper, etc...
