It warms my heart to see something like that. It seems a lot of British pride has been lost over the years and it's one thing I deeply admire about Americans is their sense of Patriotism (which I am sad to say has appeared to be in decline somewhat in the last 8 years of being here).

I am definitely going to have to go order one of those myself now and place it prominently in my new offices here in California.

    Nice find Bev!

Well the poster does give good advice, that no matter how bad things around you seem, to keep your resolve and carry on without getting discouraged.

It says it much more succinctly than my parents did when I was growing up. They told us to reach down to our boots, grab the bootstraps, pull ourselves up on our own two feet and cowboy up ... or get out of the game!

Theirs was perhaps more colorful, but that message is Spot On!

    Thanks Bev!

Thanks for that, Bev. I might order one of those posters myself... Barter Books - One of the largest second hand book shops in Europe.

When I first read the words "Carry On" I immediately thought of the comedy films with Sid James, Barbara Windsor and Kenneth Williams etc...

I saw one of their films recently when they were on a Coach Trip to Brighton. There was hardly any traffic on the roads at all. It was only about 35 years ago.

    Oh how times change.

By the way, the Prime Minster of England (Gordon Brown) is following this motivational poster perfectly.

He has definitely helped to create a right "Carry On" with the British economy.

That fit's great with me today - thanks for sharing.

I'm sure that it will help lots of people in different ways but the message still shines through loud and clear.

I immediately thought of the Carry On films too. I can just imagine Carry On IMing...

    "Oooh, Matron!"

I think the ability to laugh in the face of adversity has got the British every bit as far as stiff upper lips have. We're pretty good at laughing - when we're not complaining about queueing
