Is Article Marketing still effective, or a WASTE of time

Is article marketing still effective? and please don't just say Yes or No...your results would be nice as well as which directories you use..I am starting a new project and dont know if it is going to worth the effort for articles

    That ultimately depends on your strategy, by article marketing do you mean directory style marketing for direct traffic and SEO or content syndication where your content gets republished on relevant authority websites and other blogs?

    Without knowing it is hard to answer your question properly.

    Effective for what? You need to be clearer on this.

    For me, if you do article marketing to generate traffic, the answer is NO.

    But for getting high authority backlinks and for growing your link diversity in SEO, the answer is YES.

    As for the directories that I use: eZine Articles, Go Articles, Articles Dashboard.

    I use other automated solution for article submission as well such as UAW.

    But remember my purpose is for backlink building and not for getting traffic.
