I visited your home page listed in your profile and saw you are giving out a free e-book.
What free traffic methods did you use? How many page visitors did you get ? What is your conversion or sign up rate.

I also used free traffic methods about 3 months ago to promote a free product. I have found I have been able to get quite a lot of free , and some instant traffic to my offer although this was not targeted traffic. . Over 3000 people have visited my offer but the sign-up rate is only about 3%. I am not using paid traffic because I wanted to first try free methods and I am not sure whether paid traffic will give better results. I plan to continue to use free methods but concentrate more on targeted traffic.

Are you sure paid traffic is going to help You should not be desperate because you will
then be more likely to do the wrong things.

If you are doing SEO, definitely you will get a free traffic from Search engines.

Agreed. You should defiantly look into Search Engine Optimisation as they will be targeted and free.

Can you reveal what you're selling and your sales funnel. Make sure you've a good sales funnel that converts. May be it's not the problem with the traffic, what you offer is also matters.

Go and search Google for the most popular keywords your product targets. Go through all the top websites for those keywords and find those that have banners on them. Contact the site owners and negotiate running your own banners on those sites.

I know your looking for paid traffic but have you tried contributing to a public give-a-way event. They can be free or you can pay for additional exposure.

I have good luck with them and use it as one strategy.

it really depends on where your sending your traffic and what your end goal is

if you just have a blog then your best to just stick with free traffic

if you have a squeeze page then your best to use things like ppc and solo ads to build your list

using those paid traffic methods you can build your list very fast and your able to create a profitable sales funnel much quicker than if you used free traffic because it takes so much longer to get the traffic in

Just because you don't have results from free traffic doesn't necessarily mean you need to try paid traffic. You could lose money if your lack of progress is because of poor conversions.

That being said, I like paid traffic myself. PPC and banner advertising are my favorites, but I test and tweak so that conversions are high enough to be profitable.

I would have to agree that advertising on banners can generate targeted traffic

My advice as with others is to go down the PPC route - but start slowly and with only a few targeted keywords and a small capped daily budget. The worst thing you want to do is run out of money before you've worked out what you're doing!

I'd also avoid these 10,000 visitors for $1 kind of offers. Just remember it's not about volume of traffic, but how targeted it is. And with the best will in the world many of these offers are junk traffic and at worst fake - i.e. bots!

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

    Hi Johny,

as a paid traffic, I recommend google adwords or solo ads..

as a free traffic, blog comments on relevant blogs, forum signature and safelist..

If you have lots of money to invest then you can certainly try Adwords. If you have less money then you should try some less popular ad agencies but before trying them you should search the net and find some positive reviews about them.

You know what? Search engines tends to convert better than paid traffic if they are coming from long tail keywords.
If you really want paid traffic, try Adwords.

Start trying low search volume and low competition keywords. When they are raking well, link them to your main page.

    Here is my maths :
    10 low competition keywords
    10 visitors a day x10 low comp. keywords = 100 visitors
    if 2% conversion =$$

Hi johnnyleebon, don't fret if you're not having much results from free traffic it usually takes from 3 months up to 2 years for a website to start picking up traffic more quickly. Most bloggers quit after only a few months when they are disappointed with their traffic.

    Here's a list of link-building strategies:

    1. Content Syndication
    2. Blog Commenting
    3. Sponsoring WordPress Themes
    4. Article Directories
    5. SEO
    6. Video Marketing
    7. Forum Marketing
    8. Web 2.0
    9. Ego-Bait
    10. Interviews
    11. Social Networking
    12. Fiverr Gigs
    13. Google PPC

If you want to get instant results, however, you should go for Google PPC and Facebook Advertising. After all, everyone knows these two giants of the Internet and there are billions of people using them each day.

I have written a massive guide on Back-Linking, you might want to check it out for a more in-depth explanation on the topic.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions!

    You can try with Facebook!
It is very important to do your research work properly, meaning that you need to research who would be more interested in your product man or woman, aging, which countries, their interests. Also do lot of testing with ad titles, descriptions, and images.

Listen very carefully to me. If you do not have the right offer in front of the right people at the right time, you will not make ANY sales with FREE or PAID traffic. Period. Now, you must make sure that your sales funnel, your whole setup works and converts BEFORE throwing money at PPC. Good luck!

If you are going the paid traffic route, try solo ads. If you are doing PPC, try bidvertiser. Tip, they are a lot of PPC expert out there that can set up a campaign and get the best keywords for you if you're really serious about taking it to the next level

Try solo ads, the good thing about them is if you are not trying to sell something subscribers will think it is a helpful tip.
